For a few days of his stay at the hotel, Wen JinHan practically didn’t see the Duke, and the Duke didn’t seem to have put too much thought into the information he had given him earlier, which made it hard for Wen JinHan to tell what he was thinking.

This morning, the Duke took the time to have breakfast with him. Wen JinHan didn’t plan on letting go of this opportunity, so he decided to push things along.

After finishing breakfast, the Duke sat on the sofa, reading the newspaper with a cold and arrogant air. He ignored Wen JinHan, as if what had happened that night had simply been Wen JinHan’s dream.

Wen JinHan curled his lip; sure enough, he had only been used to satisfy his curiosity until he lost interest. Wen JinHan didn’t know whether he should be happy or sad about this… Wen JinHan also grabbed a newspaper and covered his face as he thought about how to bring the topic up. Suddenly, he zoned in on the contents of the newspaper.

“We’re in Singapore right now?” Wen JinHan asked in surprise, putting down the newspaper.

The Duke glanced sideways at him before focusing his gaze back on the newspaper. “Yes. It’s been so many days, yet you only just found out. This really isn’t like you.”

“It’s not like I’m a GPS,” scoffed Wen JinHan. He paused before continuing, “You’ve been so busy you haven’t even had time to pay attention to me. I wonder if you would be so kind as to let me go outside for a stroll? Of course, your people would definitely follow me around. I’m very self-aware and knowledgeable, so I definitely won’t try to escape or contact anyone outside. You don’t have to worry.”

The Duke finally looked up and stared at him for a while. “Why do you want to take a stroll in Singapore?”

Wen JinHan said sorrowfully, “Before I fell into the devil’s lair, I also used to be filled with youthful ideals and beliefs about life. In the past, I’ve participated in an international piano competition here, looking forward to the bright future! Alas, a nightmare descended upon me and drove me to the abyss of hell. Yet today, upon revisiting this familiar place, my emotions are really conflicted and uncontrollable——”

“Tom! Take some people with you and go with him. He can go wherever he likes, but I want to see him here before five this afternoon.” The Duke waved his hand, anxiously wanting Wen JinHan to disappear.

After Wen JinHan perked up and waved at him, cheerfully vanishing in the doorway, the Duke rubbed his temple, realizing that his brain must be broken. After that night, he had somehow thought that Wen JinHan was fascinating and endearing, which was why the Duke considerately hadn’t touched him again so he could recuperate. However, that person seemed to make it his mission to shatter the Duke’s perfect fantasies, constantly irritating him to no end. However, the Duke could never bring himself to be forceful against him. It had started as a mere interest, as he had wanted to see what kind of tricks that little thing had up his sleeve; later… later, he had increasingly wanted to get a clearer picture of exactly who this person was, as well as a glimpse into his inner core. In this world, there was no such thing that the Duke of Canterbury, Seth, couldn’t win, whether it was an object or a heart.

Compared to the Duke’s conflicted thoughts, Wen JinHan wasn’t that indolent. He led a group of men in black around, going in various directions and even walking around in circles, to the point that everyone wanted to knock him out and directly carry him back. Suddenly, Wen JinHan complained about how tired he was and settled into an old bookstore on a small street, collapsing on a chair and refusing to move any further.

The bookstore’s two stories weren’t very big, and the arrival of the five or six big men put a lot of pressure on the store’s owner and clerk.

This group of people didn’t look like they were buying books at all; were they trying to threaten them for money… Seeing the trembling store owner and clerk, the bodyguards felt demeaned; why were they being looked at as if they were ruffians?!

“It’s not like I can run away. Tom can follow me, and the rest of you can go next door to drink some tea,” Wen JinHan suggested considerately.

Tom mulled over it before waving at the others so that he was the only one left with Wen JinHan.

Wen JinHan sat on the chair for a long time with his leg propped up, reading a book with relish. When Tom leaned a little closer to glance at it, a bead of sweat formed on his forehead.

A few English words were written boldly on the cover: The Perfect Guide for Pregnancy.

W-Was he a woman pretending to be a man? And after the Duke—— ahem, he had one?!

As Tom was feeling conflicted, Wen JinHan yawned loudly and strolled to a bookshelf to carefully find another book to read. In the end, he took an old book from a corner and began flipping through it with interest. From time to time, he would tsk and nod.

After a long time, Tom couldn’t help but say hastily, “Mr. Wen, we should head back now, it’s already four.”

Wen JinHan shrugged and put the book back, slowly walking out. Before leaving, Tom glanced at the book and silently drifted outside. On the spine of that old English book was written: A Wife’s Tenderness…

When the car started, Wen JinHan watched the bookstore fade into the distance from the rear window, smirking faintly.

After the bookstore owner saw them leave, he immediately motioned for the clerk to keep watch at the door. Then, he ran to the bookshelf and took the book Wen JinHan had been reading, “A Wife’s Tenderness”, and went to the second floor. After a long time, the owner came back down and brought down a gift-wrapped hardcover book. He ordered the clerk, “Before ten o’clock tomorrow morning, take this to Mr. Wang.” The clerk nodded in understanding.

After returning to the hotel, Wen JinHan began dutifully accompanying the Duke at meals again. As for eating, he certainly didn’t have any complaints. However, as for sleeping, there must be principles!

“Say, you’ve already done what you wanted to do, and the world is boundless, so must you do the same things again and again? At the wave of your hand, you can take your pick from an abundance of people, all of whom I’m sure will make you happier than me.” Wen JinHan kept trying to persuade the Duke, who was sitting on his bed.

“You make me feel very happy.”

“…You’re biased. Anyway, you haven’t been interested these days, so you don’t have to force yourself, otherwise it would ruin your appetite.”

“Are you this disparaging of yourself?”

The Duke pulled Wen JinHan into his arms in amusement and lifted his chin, examining him for a bit before saying slowly, “I just want to try and see exactly how long it will take until I’m not interested in you anymore and until I don’t want to strip off your clothes every time I see you.”

“You have to maintain world peace, so thinking about these kinds of things isn’t good for you…” Wen JinHan complained weakly.

“Which is why I won’t think about it, I’ll directly do it.”

There would be no escaping this. For some reason, Wen JinHan felt uneasy. He didn’t know why, but he actually felt a sort of panic; perhaps he was shooting himself in the foot this time.

Thus, when he woke up in the morning, he ignored the Duke’s attentiveness and asked boldly, “When are you going to let me go back?”

“Go back?” A storm suddenly brewed in the Duke’s dark green eyes.

With only a reply of these two words, Wen JinHan wasn’t able to get out of bed for three days.

He had to go back; when Wen JinHan grudgingly gathered the last of his energy, this was the only thing he could think of. The heavens had sent him to Singapore, a place where he knew countless reliable contacts. Moreover, he had successfully sent out information, and he believed that the news had already been sent to the person it should be sent to. If he couldn’t get back in time and cooperate with his allies, he would miss this heaven-sent opportunity, and he was afraid that there wouldn’t be a second chance. Compared to placing his hopes on the Duke to overthrow the opposing force through his organization, getting revenge was more suitable to what he wanted.

After a few more days, the Duke’s heart finally softened a little, and he was about to appease his little lover.

“I want to go to Ou Chen’s place as soon as possible.” Wen JinHan looked at him solemnly, and his tone was very unyielding.

The Duke instantly felt like his head was about to explode. This was really pushing him over the edge!

“Boss! We found him!” Zheng Fei sprinted into the office in excitement. “The heavens were really helping me! The Anti-Pornography Unit conducted some surprise inspections last night, and in the shop of a beauty and massage business, they found a basement. The experts were actually tied up there!”

“Many things that weren’t planted can grow in a garden.” Wen JingHan’s eyes lit up. “They weren’t attacked or stopped?”

“No. However, the team leader said that when they felt that something was off, the shop’s owner and his two assistants ran away. The two remaining clerks confessed that their boss had paid for them to keep watch on the people, but they’re not aware of any details. The rest are completely oblivious. What I’m wondering is why the guard is so lax on such important people.”

Wen JingHan shook his head. “It’s not lax, it makes a lot of sense. Think about it, if they had already achieved their goal, these people have no worth anymore, and since they’re just a few middle-aged people who can’t fight back, they only needed to leave them in an unassuming place. If it weren’t for pure luck, we might not have even been able to find them.”

Guan Jin raised an eyebrow. “Are they really of no worth?”

Wen JingHan looked at him. “Well, they might be worthless for them, but for us, they’re priceless. QiaoYu, Gu Xiang, go and have a chat with them.”

“Understood, leave it to us!”

“My rare guest, how come you’re free to come by today again?” Jiang Shu poured a cup of tea for Wen JingHan.

“I was passing by, so I wanted to come see you.” Wen JingHan took a sip, and he closed his eyes in appreciation. “Good tea. Jiang Shu, you opened a Western-style cafe, how come you’ve taken up tea again?”

Jiang Shu poured himself a cup and smiled. “I’m getting old, so I’m starting to like lighter and nostalgic flavors. Besides, drinking tea is good for one’s health.”

“Lushan Yunwu 1 doesn’t exactly have a light taste. The way I see it, your nostalgia doesn’t come from the tea, but from the person who sent the tea, right?” Wen JinHan said calmly as he blew lightly on the floating tea leaves.

Jiang Shu’s hand shook momentarily, and he placed his cup down before looking up and smiling uneasily. “What, did I reveal a microexpression or something just now?”

“It’s not like we’re acting in ‘Lie to Me’, I don’t have that kind of ability. After so many years, you can’t have really forgotten what kind of person I am, right?” Wen JingHan also looked up and smiled.
