Luo Futu went out to the kitchen. It was obvious that the place had been used as a lot of messy traces were left, but Zhou Yan was not there, so he must have made the “New Year’s Eve dinner” before he left. The more Luo Futu thought about it, the angrier he became.
Mu Lian, who was still connected to him, sensed his emotions and weakly reassured him, “High Priest, there is no need to be so upset, you don’t need to eat anyway….”
Luo Futu didn’t say anything, but in his heart, he thought – it’s just not needed, but never wanted, he wanted to eat Zhou Yan’s cooking right now, this New Year’s Eve dinner.
However, Luo Futu was not in the incompetent range like that stupid cucumber after all. Things had happened, and mistakes had been made. Even if he dragged Mu Lian out and strangled her, it would not help and the most important matter was that he needed to hurriedly drag Zhou Yan back.
In the future, he would never play such childish tricks again, thinking about it was very senseless.
As darkness approached, Luo Futu finally found Zhou Yan in a deserted corner of the mine, crouched alone on the ground, tinkering with something while surrounded by a circle of bright flames.
Luo Futu sighed deeply in relief. He walked silently to Zhou Yan, even though he knew he was at fault, he couldn’t face saying something to apologize at first – and from his point of view, it wasn’t enough to apologize, he came… since he was just a little worried.
Luo Futu stood there quietly for a while, but Zhou Yan didn’t seem to notice him, so he had to intentionally cough twice to remind him of his presence. Zhou Yan still did not look back, he was concentrating on his own business, Luo Futu sighed in his heart and walked over. Luo Futu felt that Zhou Yan was angry with him, otherwise he would have seen him coming, but he still looked like he was ignoring him. This anger didn’t seem to be completely bad, it would be tragic if Zhou Yan didn’t take him seriously at all.
….
Luo Futu sat down and peeked at Zhou Yan several times, but the other party just ignored him – he was really scary when he was cold, as if he wanted to freeze himself and everyone around him. Luo Futu swallowed, his heart was shaken like an earthquake – this was his own doing after all, should he take the initiative to admit his fault….
Luo Futu had a fierce psychological struggle as he thought about it, and felt that maintaining a cold war was a sign of cowardice. He took a deep breath, and took the initiative to speak, “Previously I….”
“Hiss….” At that moment, Zhou Yan suddenly struck a match in his hand, and the dancing flame ignited a long strip before brilliant sparks shot out from the strip.
Luo Futu’s words were interrupted, and Zhou Yan’s face was lit up by the brilliant sparks. He raised his eyes to Luo Futu, and a smile appeared on his face, “Happy New Year.”
“Happy New Year…. Happy?” Luo Futu hesitantly repeated what he said, but was rewarded with a smile of approval from Zhou Yan.
“Are you done? Why are you free to come over?”
Luo Futu felt very uncomfortable when he asked this question again – he was busy, his ass, his mind was not on that bullshit employee handbook, but he was fighting with him that time.
Zhou Yan laughed and handed him the long bar in his hand, “Here’s one for you.”
Luo Futu slightly raised his eyebrows, “What is this?”
“Fireworks, there’s a big one, let’s put it together later…. It’s made of trimmings, you can play with it in a while.”
Luo Futu pinched the sparkler, watching as the explosions got shorter and shorter. He could not help but cast a time spell on it, shortening the sparkler and stopping the progress instantly while maintaining the pattern of burning flickering.
Zhou Yan’s eyes widened slightly, “Is this the ‘collection’ spell you mentioned before?”
Luo Futu nodded, “And you hiding here for so long to make sparklers? I thought….”
The sparkler in Zhou Yan’s hand had already burned out, and Luo Futu handed the one in his hand to Zhou Yan, but the latter asked, “Thought what?”
–Thought he was angry.
Luo Futu understood that it seemed a bit spoiled to say such things at this time, so he shook his head, “It’s nothing.”
Zhou Yan also did not want to dig deeper, but he felt that the sparkler still burning in his hand was a bit strange, so he shook it off, “Remove the spell.”
“But it will burn out in a flash, wouldn’t it be a pity?”
–He wanted it to last for a long time.
Zhou Yan looked at him with amusement, “It is not much trouble, the mine factory happens to gather non-ferrous metals that they want to make into some sparklers or cans. And the reason why sparklers are gorgeous is because they are short-lived, so it’s no fun to collect them.”
Luo Futu did not agree with Zhou Yan’s statement, but since Zhou Yan asked for it, he naturally complied and had to lift the spell. After all, he had just escaped death, Zhou Yan now let him go under the frozen water to swim around he can also go.
However, Zhou Yan obviously did not take his previous refusal to heart as he waved towards Luo Futu and walked forward, “Take you to see the big fireworks I made, the kind that can go up into the sky. It’s my first time doing it, I don’t know if it will work.”
Luo Futu followed Zhou Yan to a more remote place before he saw a metal box on the ground, he had never seen anything in this shape before. However, he was used to it as Zhou Yan often came up with things that he had never seen before, and he just had to wait for the surprises he brought.
–High Priest, this mentality is not good, how can you just wait for the omega to surprise you?! No wonder you are so passive in this relationship, you are the one who is attracted….
Luo Futu’s sea of consciousness suddenly sounded Mu Lian’s voice, and he only then remembered that he had not cut off contact with her, so he immediately kicked Mu Lian out of his sea of consciousness. He now did not care who was the passive or the active one, and Mu Lian’s presence would only constantly remind him of what a stupid thing he had done. At this time, Zhou Yan had already taken the fire to light the fireworks placed in the distance. He put the fire on the fuse and then immediately ran towards Luo Futu.
“Be careful….”
Luo Futu subconsciously reached out to help him, but Zhou Yan pointed overhead and said, “Why look at me? Look at the sky.”
Zhou Yan’s words had just fallen when a loud “bang” sounded. In the dark sky, the fireworks bloomed like flowers, forming a huge flower before each petal curled and stretched, emitting a silky sound that finally screamed hoarsely before disappearing into the darkness.
Luo Futu was taken aback. His attention was soon drawn to the fireworks exploding in the sky. It was even more stunning than he had imagined, appearing as a multicolored flower composed of flame that exploded in the sky one after another. The flowers were becoming more and more dense and diverse. He tried to carefully identify them; crocus flowers, cypress vines, and some unknown double-petal flowers. It was really a bouquet.
Luo Futu’s heart was very shocked as he did not expect Zhou Yan’s fireworks to be like this. This was clearly something a mystic would use a spell to create but Zhou Yan could actually produce it. Luo Futu hung his head to look at Zhou Yan, whose face was constantly illuminated and would disappear in the darkness for a moment. With these fleeting rays, Luo Futu saw Zhou Yan looking up at the sky with a very relieved look on his face. He whispered, “I did it.”
The last firework fell, turning into cold dust and scattering in the air, and Zhou Yan’s originally illuminated face also disappeared into the darkness again. Luo Futu subconsciously held his shoulders, and then clasped Zhou Yan into his arms to hug him fiercely. Luo Futu did not know why he did this, but at this moment, it seemed like the only way he could feel Zhou Yan’s presence. Otherwise he would have had the illusion that Zhou Yan was like a firework in the sky that would dissipate into the air at any time.
Zhou Yan, in his arms, was silent for a moment and seemed to be a little frozen before he quickly recovered, “I heard that when you see fireworks, people can not help but feel emotional excitement. Seriously, even sex hormones will lead to more impulsive behavior than usual. That’s why confessions and major events usually occur with fireworks as the background, so it’s a little more likely to succeed.”
When Luo Futu heard this long list of words, he was dumbfounded for a moment, and the hand that was holding Zhou Yan tightly was reflexively released – this guy…. Why did he always say untimely things at such times?
Zhou Yan also asked, “What you just did was hormonal fluctuations due to fireworks?”
Luo Futu twitched the corner of his mouth, “…. I just want to hug you.”
“That’s hormonal fluctuation.” Zhou Yan muttered, “You seem to like my fireworks…. But there’s still room for improvement, I just saw a few petals not fully extended….”
Zhou Yan did not finish his sentence as his lips were kissed by Luo Futu, and Zhou Yan’s voice came to an abrupt end. Zhou Yan felt that it was too quiet and he couldn’t see Luo Futu’s face, so he couldn’t help but break the silence of the scene, “What are you thinking about?”
Luo Futu gently hugged him, “I am glad that I finally found you, if I had not come just now, you would have had to watch with others.”
Zhou Yan’s voice took on a smile, “But I guessed you’d come.”
Luo Futu was surprised at his certainty, not knowing whether to be pleased or embarrassed. The more Zhou Yan did this, the more Luo Futu felt childish, irrational, and senseless. How could he be so senseless? Luo Futu was silent for a while and asked, “Why?”
“Intuition.” Luo Futu stopped talking again, and Zhou Yan looked up at his face, “Ah, yes, I want to thank you.”
Luo Futu still asked, “Why?”
–He couldn’t say anything, and he seemed to be a repeater who only answered with “why”? Why did Zhou Yan not complain about him? Why did he actually show him the surprise? Why did he thank him? Luo Futu even hoped that Zhou Yan would get angry with him because of his deliberate refusal just now.
Apparently Zhou Yan couldn’t understand it all, and his voice sounded really happy.
“Because this is the first Spring Festival that I have someone to celebrate with, I used to spend it alone…. By the way, Spring Festival is a special holiday in our area, generally…. It symbolizes reunions, to spend with family. But the Zedoary Continent doesn’t seem to have such a holiday, and even if I were to celebrate with fireworks today, no one would know why I’m doing it.”
— Now he could at least talk to Luo Futu.
Only then did Luo Futu realize that he had turned down such an invitation on impulse, and he finally realized what it meant to “regret it too late”! He wanted to transmigrate himself and do it all over again! He would not hesitate to say yes! All these years, this poor little man had been spending his holidays by himself? Why wasn’t the Spring Festival set when he became High Priest? Luo Futu had been stimulated to the confusion of thinking, completely unable to remember that they did not have such a concept of Spring Festival.
Zhou Yan was once again yanked into Luo Futu’s arms and hugged with such force that he felt his bones were about to be crushed by him, “…. What are you doing?”
“I’m sorry, my heart hurts.”
Zhou Yan raised his head with uncertainty, but heard Luo Futu’s voice trembling slightly, “Later everyone on the Zedoary Continent will have Spring Festival today, I want everyone in the world to spend the Spring Festival with you!”
“….” This guy, what was his stimulation?

I’m amazed that he had time to create fireworks with his busy schedule 👍🏻😊
I think that just shows how important Spring Festival is for him (or the Author lol). I had read too many about it and just knew they had superstitious view over this celebration as it will impact not only a day but a full year. I guess ZY didn’t see it, but LF definitely feel something when ZY (someone that fully aware what this celebration signify) said lightly about celebrating it alone. There must be a give away either from his subtle expression, tone or pause between words. In times like this, I really liked LF’s high observational skill.
You are, you numpty!
Thank you both for the chapter
I really like LF a lot. But sometimes I get the impression that the roles are reversed. Thanks for the chapter!!!
