Chapter One

“No, there’s no way I can possibly do this.” Tanaka Kichirou said holding his hands up, backing away from the principal.

It was the middle of the school year, fall was already setting in. The ginkgo leaves were falling from their branches, landing softly on the ground. Inside the principal’s office was another matter. On one side of the desk sat an older gentleman, a serene look on his face, his hands intertwined beneath his chin. He looked across his desk at Tanaka-sensei who had a frantic look across his face. He was in a blue suit with a black tie, his hair was in disarray from running his fingers through it too often.

“You have to, Tanaka-sensei. Joou sensei is out on maternity leave and you’re the only other sensei available.” The principal said, gauging the young sensei of his reaction. Kichirou let out a large sigh before clenching his fists at his side.

“I can not be the home room teacher of an alpha class.” He stated out defiantly.

“And why not?” The principal asked, lifting an eyebrow.

“Because I’m an omega!” Kichirou yelled, throwing his hands up into the air.

In this world, there are the two main genders, male and female. But due to a worldly crisis over 300 years ago, the state of the world changed and the evolution of the human race expanded. The female population was almost entirely wiped out, which meant that there were no more maternal bodies to produce offspring. Evolution began within the male bodies. This evolution consisted of sub genders. Alpha, beta and omega. Every single gender could then become pregnant, meaning males could birth offspring as well.

Sub genders became even more important, because even though every person in the world could become pregnant, if it was an alpha to alpha pairing, the chance of pregnancy was only thirty percent. With an alpha to beta pairing, the rate was only increased to forty percent. However, with what the world began to call “fated pairs” which consisted of a alpha to omega pairing, the rate of pregnancy was an astonishing one hundred percent.

However, omega’s were a rare sub gender. Out of ten people, only one person would be an omega. That meant that only ten percent of the world was an omega sub gender. The world consisted of sixty percent betas and thirty percent Alphas. Alpha’s were a higher ranking in status than both betas and omegas. Due to this, there were special schools created just for the alpha children. But there were also schools that accepted all sub genders, however, the classes would be split between alpha classes and beta/omega classes.

Due to the evolution, alphas and omegas developed what is called a heat. This heat urges the person to mate. Omegas heat comes once a month for six to eight days. Their systems will almost completely shut down if they do not have the proper stimuli. Most omegas are quarantined during this heat period. However, if they are in the vicinity of an alpha during this time, the alpha will then go into heat as well, losing all rationality and they will begin mating non stop until the heat disappears.

This act was almost as bad as rape, however, pharmaceutical companies created medication that could suppress both types of heat to make life easier for both alphas and omegas. This invention made the society accept omegas.

The principal scoffed, shaking his head.

“Does that matter over the children’s education?”

Kichirou glared at the principal, a long time friend of his family.

“Apparently not to you….” He muttered under his breath.

“I asked Fujima sensei on who would be best to replace Joou sensei and he recommended you.” Kichirou’s heart thumped, and his once gloomy eyes brightened slightly.

“Fujima sensei did?” Fujima Natsuki was a 3rd year teacher and a beta. He was always cheerful and had an answer to everything. His black hair was always neat and his suits in fashion.

“You start with the first year alpha class today, Tanaka sensei.” the principal smiled and shooed Kichirou out of his office.

Kichirou shuffled out of the room and shut the door. He stared at the now shut door and put his head against it, instantly turning into his gloomy self. Staring at his shoes, he wondered what he was going to do in a room full of nothing but adolescent alpha teens.

“This sucks.” He muttered to himself. He lifted his head and pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Are you okay, Tanaka sensei?” The voice was crisp, laced with a hint of worry. Kichirou jumped a little at the sound. He lowered his hand and looked over at Fujima Natsuki Sensei. He had four or five books held under one arm, worry etched into his face. He reached out a hand and touched Kichirou on his shoulder.

“I’m guessing the principal told you about Joou sensei?”

“Yes.” Kichirou groaned, “And it’s no thanks to you.”

Fujima sensei let out a rumbling laugh and grinned. “You’ll do fine. Why do you think I recommended you?” He patted Kichirou on the shoulder just as the intercom let out three soft trills. “Let’s get going, Sensei, I believe in you.”

Giving Kichirou one last smile, Fujima began to leisurely walk off towards the classrooms.

Kichirou glanced to see if anyone was around before a huge smile broke out on his face. He clenched his hand and did a slight fist. “Yeeess.” He whispered, watching Fujima with love written in his eyes. Kichirou had been in love with Natsuki ever since he had first laid eyes on him oh so long ago. Being encouraged by him was like being smiled at by a favorite star.

Kichirou took his time to the classroom, he had been mentally preparing himself by recreating scenarios on the how the class would react to him as their homeroom teacher. Chances were, they would be patronize him. He would have to hold a cool and stern mask; even the littlest hint of a crack would end up being teared down.

As he reached the classroom, the bell rang on cue. Cool and stern. Cool and stern. How should he open the door? Swift and loud to show who’s in charge? No, that’s over-dramatic. How did a normal human being open a door again? Either way, showing the students any tardiness would make a bad example. He had to enter now and not anytime sooner.

Taking a deep breath, Kichirou straightened his tie and sighed. “Here goes nothing.” He muttered under his breath.

He opened the door, and his eyes wandered around the room. Obviously the students thought that they were not getting a teacher yet, because the boys and girls both were everywhere throughout the room. None of them were in their seats.

In the corner, by the window, sat a group of six teenagers. Two girls and three boys all surrounding one boy in the middle. He had bright blonde hair, several ear piercings and a smile that lit up the room. His bright purple eyes glanced up toward Kichirou. Their eyes met and the whole world seemed to melt away.

Kichirou felt an intense heat flood throughout his entire system. He breathed in harshly.

No, he thought, it’s not time for my heat cycle to start.

Pushing down with all his might, he tore his gaze away from the young teenage boy. The boy on the other hand, kept his eyes focused on Kichirou, his cheeks slightly flushed and his eyes brighter than anyone had ever seen them.

“Jun,” One of the boys to his side playfully ran his hand down Jun’s leg, stopping slightly before his groin. “What’s got you so excited?”

Another one of the boys leaned over and put his lips to Jun’s ear and licked one of his studded earrings. “I can smell your desire, Arimori.”

Arimori Jun looked at both the boys to his sides and grinned. He moved his hand to the hand that was near his groin and lifted it up, kissing the back of it.

“Not yet, dears, it seems we’ve got a new teacher.”

“Ahem.” Kichirou cleared his throat, deciding to not look at the blond haired boy. It did not bode well, he thought. All the students looked up at him. “Please return to your seats.” Once everyone was situated, he wrote his name on the board. “My name is Tanaka Kichirou and I will be replacing Joou sensei while he is out on maternity leave.”

Whispers instantly sprung up around the room.

“I’ve heard about him.”

“He’s an omega.”

“An omega actually has a job?”

“Why is he in an alpha class?”

From among all the whispers, one voice echoed out loud and clear, “Ki-chan-sensei, why’d they send a bunny like you into a wolves den?”
