Chapter 27: Master

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Lyss stared at the terminal for a long time, eventually not replying with a single word, simply closing the unopened star-letter as if nothing had happened.

There were two weeks left until the joint military exercise began. During this time, Lyss took some time to search for the possible effects of aborting a full-term pregnancy. The star network provided a detailed list of potential aftereffects for different genders, with male omegas carrying the highest risk.

Due to physiological differences, male omegas required special precautions within a month after an abortion, as symptoms like dizziness, shock, and heavy bleeding could occur.

Ultimately, Lyss decided to postpone the matter. Firstly, considering the time left until the military exercise, even if he started now, it might not be enough. He couldn’t gamble with this situation. Secondly, and most importantly, he didn’t exhibit significant signs of pregnancy so far. Unlike the descriptions found on the star network, Lyss experienced no dizziness or nausea, with his only difficulty being a loss of appetite. Everything else seemed normal.

Considering all these factors, Lyss chose to temporarily postpone dealing with the embryo in his belly until after the military exercise.

What he didn’t expect was an unprecedented change in his state of mind after the military exercise.

Two weeks passed quickly. During this time, Lu Xingye returned once, bringing along a list. Among the many high-ranking military officers listed, Lyss paused slightly when he saw a particular name and looked at Lu Xingye, “Are you sure he’s there?”

“This is intelligence I risked my life to obtain. If discovered, I could face military discipline,” Lu Xingye pretended to be aggrieved. “Does the esteemed Chief not believe me?”

Lyss pursed his lips without responding.

The puppy wagged his tail, seeking affection. “I worked so hard for you. Doesn’t the esteemed Chief owe me something?”

Lyss looked at him impassively.

The wolf pup approached, trying to justify himself. “This is also part of my hard work. What I found in the database isn’t ordinary. Would the esteemed Chief like to hear?”

Lyss lightly pinched his tail. “Speak.”

“In the military database, there’s a segment of history I’ve never seen before. It was around the time Triss was just established as an independent federation after being expelled from the Galaxy. There was a civilization unlike any in the Milky Way that wanted to annex it. Triss was in disarray; the military was in shambles and couldn’t stand up to them. The Chief had no choice but to negotiate, and ultimately, it seems an agreement was reached with that civilization. Since then, there has been no appearance in the solar system.”

“I’ve never heard of this history,” Lyss remarked.

“Exactly.” Lu Xingye sat beside him, wrapping his arm around Lyss’ waist. “That’s why I said I accessed the database for you. Why doesn’t the esteemed Chief believe me?”

Lyss turned to look at him, instantly seeing through his lie. “You obtained more information than you’re letting on.”

Lu Xingye was taken aback, then tried to divert the topic. Lyss caught his ear and brought him closer. “Speak.”

“Alright, I will,” Lu Xingye quickly said. “Among them was a list of people involved in those negotiations. There was a female scientist without a name… I suspect it might be my mother.”

“Three hundred years ago? How old would your mother be?” Lyss hesitated.

“I don’t know,” Lu Xingye said sincerely. “Even though hibernation technology was banned, there were many who used it during that era.”

The hibernation project was initially for elite talents to contribute to humanity’s future, but it devolved into a means for the wealthy to prolong life. It was halted when the Chudai System began working, becoming a reason why some opposed Chudai later.

“Your mother…” Lyss hesitated, “was she a scientist?”

“Sort of.” Lu Xingye recollected, “When I was young, she made all sorts of unique gadgets for me. Later, she fled the Empire, using the mecha she built herself. She never told me what she did exactly, but I’m certain she wasn’t ordinary.”

“Do you think she’s still alive?” Lyss asked softly.

There was a moment of pain in Lu Xingye’s eyes, but he remained resolute, “She must still be alive. If she was the third party at the negotiation table back then, crossing three hundred years to live until now, she couldn’t be taken down by the Empire’s pursuit.”

Lyss suddenly felt reluctant to continue. He looked at Lu Xingye quietly for a while before gently placing a kiss on his lips.

He had never initiated something like this before, and Lu Xingye was momentarily stunned, his ears perking up instantly, staring at Lyss.

“This is your reward,” Lyss gently patted Lu Xingye’s somewhat dazed cheek. “You’ve worked hard, little pup.”

Lu Xingye suddenly regained his senses, pouncing like crazy, but after a couple of kisses, he blinked in confusion. “Brother… did you gain a little weight again?”

He wanted to say Lyss had put on some weight in a more delicate manner, but the choice of words seemed odd.

Lyss fell silent for a few seconds, then gently licked Lu Xingye’s throat. “Quickly, I’m hungry.””

Lu Xingye’s self-control in front of Lyss was virtually non-existent. He instantly forgot about the weight issue and only felt that the touch of the great beauty was exceptionally good.

On Monday, after sending off the hyper and clingy little pup, Lyss calmly glanced at the calendar.

One week left until the joint military exercise.

On Thursday, Lyss finally issued a command to the military.

All the individuals from the list provided by Lu Xingye were arranged to participate in the military exercise, except for one person who was left out.

Such a significant event as the military exercise naturally couldn’t rely on the previous guards. Lyss separately requested a team from the military to serve as his personal guard, including Lu Xingye.

When Lyss wrote Lu Xingye’s name on the list, he was actually somewhat hesitant, but the plan was set and couldn’t be changed.

Finally, on the day before the joint military exercise began, the entire Federation Space Force was ready. Under the dazzling salutes, amidst the numerous gazes of the media and officials, Lyss, bathed in attention, stepped onto the “Yuanyang” military ship.

Standing on the ship were the guards he had requested. As Lyss ascended, everyone immediately stood up straight, saluting, “Chief, hello!”

Each member of the guard team wanted to display their best performance. Firstly, because Lyss was the Chief of the entire Triss Federation, and safeguarding the Chief from close proximity was an honor for every soldier. Secondly, Lyss was an omega, beautiful to the extent that words could not describe.

Some people weren’t just meant for fantasy but for admiration like gods. This didn’t stop these alphas from becoming invigorated and wanting to show themselves off at the sight of Lyss.

Lu Xingye stood among the guards, partly delighted, and partly so sour he wanted to beat up this group of people.

What are you all looking at? Don’t you have your own wives?

“Good day, everyone, thank you for your hard work,” Lyss asked the guard captain, “Have you selected my personal bodyguard for tonight?”

The captain replied, “Report, not yet! The Admiral said to wait for the Chief’s decision.”

“Alright.” Lyss looked towards the alpha who had been eagerly watching him. He intended to tease him a bit, but then he thought about what was about to happen during the exercise. He paused for a moment and then spoke, “Lu Xingye, come here.”

Seeing this, the other members of the guard team showed expressions of astonishment. They had naturally heard rumors about a little alpha by the Chief’s side, but they didn’t match that person with Lu Xingye. At that moment, they could hardly believe their ears.

Lu Xingye was somewhat smug but slightly lost. If his tail were exposed, it might wag sky-high at this moment. Yet, he still maintained the professional demeanor of a soldier, saluting with a nod, “Yes!”

As the starship was about to set off, everyone took their seats.

The captain of the guard sat with a complex expression in the second row, watching Lu Xingye sit next to Lyss with boundless joy, showing no trace of a soldier’s composure.

Even the captain, who had seen great storms, reacted this way. The others, needless to say, were staring at Lu Xingye like they were seeing a ghost.

Lu Xingye had been in the military for less than two months, but his fame was greater than most veterans who had served for over a decade.

He was known in the military for being handy with his fists, even beating up several high-ranking officers. This made everyone respect him, and those older than him willingly called him “Brother Lu.”

But for such a person to be… the same alpha rumored to be with the Chief, who couldn’t even get a complete mark?

Most alphas still had some sense of “pride.” When choosing a mate, they often picked someone of slightly lower status. If they were aiming higher, they would try to select a gentle omega.

Lu Xingye seemed different. With Lyss not having spoken a single word yet, Lu Xingye couldn’t resist approaching and pouring out his interesting experiences over the past half month like spilled beans. There was no doubt that if there hadn’t been outsiders, he would have directly wagged his tail and shown affection.

The members of the guard team showed complex expressions, doubting their own eyes.

The place where the military exercise was held was on a desolate planet. Except for essential rescue facilities and the residences of both parties’ leaders, there were no other buildings on that planet.

As the starship landed, the boundless sky contrasted with the desolation of the vast land before them.

Tomorrow would be the first day of the exercise, consisting of joint speeches from both parties’ leaders and the announcement of the exercise’s objectives.

Lyss disembarked from the starship, leading the guard team towards Triss Federation’s building.

It was getting late. After entering the resting area, Lyss said, “Let’s rest in our rooms today. Thank you for your hard work, everyone.”

The other guards had no objections, but the guard captain, after glancing at Lyss and then at Lu Xingye, couldn’t help but say, “Chief, your status is noble. One personal bodyguard might not be enough…”

The guards who were about to enter the room immediately stood still, their ears pricked up, hoping Lyss would pick them.

Lyss interrupted, “It’s fine. I trust the Admiral’s judgment.” With that, he pushed open the door and walked in. Lu Xingye stood still, coldly locking eyes with the guard captain until he heard a voice from behind, “Come in quickly.” He retracted his gaze, putting on a smile, “Coming, Chief.”

Before entering the room, he scanned around with a trace of hostility, like a territorial wolf cub. Those guards itching for action felt a chill down their spines at his glance. Lu Xingye had set countless records in the military within just over a month. They quickly turned and entered the room, not daring to show anything else.

Slightly satisfied, Lu Xingye withdrew his gaze. Upon entering, he immediately saw Lyss turning away from him, removing his cloak. Lu Xingye promptly stepped forward, taking the cloak handed to him and hanging it on a nearby rack.

Without turning around, Lyss allowed the wolf cub to embrace him, leaning in and cooing by his ear, “Chief, I miss you so much…”

Lyss turned around, “Help me take off my clothes. I need to take a bath.”

Lu Xingye’s eyes lit up, nodding eagerly, “Yes, sir.”

The intricate military outfit was carefully removed, revealing a snowy white undershirt. Lu Xingye’s breath hitched; he quickly suspected something. Slowly moving downward, his speculation was soon confirmed—Lyss indeed had a shirt clip.

“Brother—” the little wolf cub cooed affectionately, “Do you remember that time on the starship…”

Before he finished, Lyss swiftly interrupted, “I remember.”

With that, he removed the few remaining clothes and walked towards the bathroom.

Lu Xingye was momentarily stunned, then quickly followed into the bathroom.

Lyss stood in front of the bathtub. As expected, a familiar pup approached from behind, “Did I let you in?”

“I’m your personal bodyguard. I must be responsible for my master,” Lu Xingye dared to say anything with a sudden rush of courage. “What if there’s a danger in the bathroom?”

Lyss paused, turning to look at him, “What did you just call me?”

Lu Xingye blinked, shamelessly playful, “Master, I’m your little dog.”

A slight tremor in his ears made Lyss show an unusual ripple in his eyes. He hadn’t expected Lu Xingye to say that.

Staring at Lu Xingye, Lyss, with a slight motion in his golden eyes, couldn’t help but ask, “What are you wearing around your neck?”

Lu Xingye didn’t understand why he suddenly asked this but still answered, “It’s a communication circle used to record information and confirm positions.”

Each member of the Triss Space Force wore this type of communication circle when they came this time. It didn’t have any particular meaning, just a regular military tool. Lyss had never seen Lu Xingye wearing it before.

The military uniform was light blue, outlining Lu Xingye’s perfect figure with a fitted cut. His youthful charm was emphasized by the metal accessories hanging on it, making him look more handsome and vibrant.

The color of the communication circle around his neck was black, snug under his Adam’s apple. It somehow added an inexplicable feeling.

The bathroom fell silent for three seconds. Suddenly, Lyss hooked his hand around the communication circle on Lu Xingye’s neck, pulling him towards the bathtub.

Before Lu Xingye could react, he was pushed into the tub, completely soaking his entire military outfit. He gasped, raising his hand to remove his outer coat, but then heard the sound of water and a voice, “Don’t take it off.”

Lu Xingye looked up to see Lyss coldly stepping into the bathtub, straddling him. He froze for a moment and then forgot about clothing. He raised his hand to embrace that familiar narrow waist.

before he could touch, Lyss immediately slapped his hand away. The omega then pinched his chin and asked, “What did you just call me?”

Lu Xingye suddenly felt the air he exhaled was hot. He used all his self-control to stop himself from pinning Lyss down. His Adam’s apple moved, “…Master.”

“Good little dog.” Lyss kissed his lips, praising him without a hint of emotion, “Be obedient tonight.”

Author’s note:

Damn, how could the Chief be so uptight!!

Writing this while sighing: Although the little dog is about to go offline, having such a beautiful wife, your life is worth it! Go in peace; your wife and child will be fine!

  1. A subtle nod to bondage and dom never goes amiss 😏
Lyss’s weight gain is noticeable to LX, yet is not showing at all right now? LX’s attention must be impaired, or Lyss is very lucky to not have a bump.
Thank you both for the chapter.
