The Empire, known for its luxurious nature, had the entire palace adorned in grandeur, even the restroom here was splendidly embellished with gold and jewels. The gleaming walls faintly reflected the only two figures present.
After their intimate moment, Lyss, feeling woozy, leaned against the person in front. When there was no immediate response, he weakly massaged his temples, half expecting to be dreaming. After all, over the past five years, these dreams had been quite familiar to him. He wasn’t too disheartened.
As Lyss attempted to gather his strength and rise, a forceful pull lifted him and placed him on the nearby washstand. Lyss, his mind clouded by alcohol, hesitated for a moment, then looked up somewhat dazedly. The faintly bitter tea scent surrounded him as his chin was lifted by someone with a searing kiss.
His snow-white wolf ears twitched, the golden eyes, clouded by inebriation, trembled slightly. He looked quite different from his sober self. Lu Xingye was taken aback by what he saw, nearly losing his composure. His arm wrapped around Lyss’ narrow waist, involuntarily drawing him closer.
His pliant lips were pried open and his tongue, carrying the scent of alcohol, met Lu Xingye’s an intense intrusion without any defenses. The moist walls of his mouth were ruthlessly explored, and a helpless whimper escaped the intoxicated omega, provoking his assailant even more.
It was Lyss’ first time getting drunk, and the loss of rationality in this state was even more intense than during estrus. He didn’t even know where he was at the moment, merely instinctively raising his hand to hook around the neck of the person before him.
Lyss believed he was dreaming, but Lu Xingye was sober, faced with the inviting posture of the omega. His control nearly evaporated in an instant. The restroom was spacious, and although no one approached at the moment, it was still a public area, where someone could walk in at any time.
Suppressing his escalating desire, Lu Xingye reluctantly retreated from Lyss’ lips. Lyss, who was drunk and unaware of the danger, instead followed suit, clinging to Lu Xingye’s neck and kissing his cheek like a cuddly cat. The mingled scent of alcohol and peach almost drowned Lu Xingye, “Puppy…”
Lu Xingye felt like he was dying.
Lyss was practically dragged back to the gathering.
The party was nearing its end, the once vibrant lights now dimmed, casting an air of intoxication over the scene. But it was the dim lighting that worked in their favor; most didn’t notice Lyss’ odd behavior, except for a few, like Lillia and her attendant.
Lillia was holding the peacefully sleeping Lin Lang, while the attendant held a portable terminal, recording something under Lillia’s direction. Seeing Lyss and Lu Xingye walking over, both of them glanced up.
Lu Xingye appeared to be standing beside Lyss, but in reality, he discreetly supported the swaying figure to prevent him from falling again. Lillia took a glance at Lu Xingye’s hand, then quickly looked away, adopting a neutral attitude. The attendant who frowned at the approaching couple was seemingly eager to take charge of Lyss.
“Silverfang is a little drunk,” Lu Xingye stated, not bothering to look at the attendant, “Lin Lang wouldn’t sleep well here either. I’ll take them back.”
“Understood.” Lillia dared not object, handing Lin Lang over, “The Prime Minister of your country discussed some matters regarding the Chudai Reboot. I’ve had the attendant record all the details for you to inform the Chief when he’s sober tomorrow.”
Lu Xingye supported Lyss’ waist and took Lin Lang from Lillia, “Sure, thank you.”
Rubbing her eyes, Lin Lang first called out to Lyss, “Mommy.”
Lyss, seemingly more sober now, but with a mind still in a haze, momentarily didn’t respond. Why would a little girl call him “Mommy”? He thought illogically, when did I have a daughter?
Seeing Lyss ignore her, Lin Lang, still half asleep, turned to Lu Xingye and, without any hesitation, said, “Daddy…why is Mommy ignoring me?”
Her voice was soft, but audible to the four present.
Lillia’s expression turned extremely shocked, and Lu Xingye almost couldn’t contain his amused smile. Holding his daughter, he whispered softly, “Mommy is a bit drunk. Let’s take Mommy home to sleep, alright?”
The little girl didn’t understand the difference between what her dad said about “sleeping” and her understanding of it. Nevertheless, she practically pushed her mom into the wolf’s den, “Okay.”
With that, Lu Xingye’s lips curled slightly as he turned and walked away from the gathering with his daughter in his arms. Observing the scene, Lin Xi reflexively moved to intervene, but was stopped by Lillia’s swift action, who had something to discuss with him after the party.
What happened after the party and what Lillia said to Lin Xi wasn’t important to Lyss.
The Empire’s night air was chilly, Lu Xingye’s coat wrapped around Lin Lang, while Lyss, not wearing anything too light, still stumbled a bit when the cold wind blew. Lu Xingye noticed and took off his suit jacket, draping it over Lyss’ shoulders; he was now left with only a shirt.
Lyss was again pulled close by Lu Xingye, moving forward with him. After a few steps, Lyss finally looked at Lu Xingye, “I’m not cold.”
His speech was slow, as if this simple statement was a matter of great importance.
Lu Xingye looked at him meaningfully, “You won’t be cold in a moment.”
At his current state, Lyss didn’t comprehend Lu Xingye’s words. He would soon understand. They had quite a distance to walk from the party area to the rest area, but there were mechas at the entrance, and they quickly returned.
Lin Lang was too exhausted to lift her head; Lu Xingye put her in bed, and the little girl fell asleep immediately. Lyss stood by the bed, gazing at her without blinking. When Lu Xingye turned his head, he saw Lyss’ serious yet adorable expression and couldn’t help but wrap his arms around him and lift him up.
Lyss didn’t resist, allowing the other to carry him into the bathroom. Even as Lu Xingye systematically removed his clothes, Lyss remained remarkably compliant, silently sitting there.
“Wife…” Lu Xingye, taking advantage of Lyss’ intoxication, dipped his head to capture the other’s lips, saying whatever he wanted, “What are you thinking?”
Lyss even lifted his face slightly to facilitate the teasing kisses, then slowly responded after a while, “I’m wondering why that little girl called me Mommy…”
Lu Xingye paused briefly before chuckling softly, “Looks like you’re really drunk. You don’t even recognize your own daughter.”
Lyss widened his eyes in confusion, slightly leaning back. This motion made the world in front of him spin even more, and he instinctively reached out to grasp Lu Xingye’s shoulder, slowly and perplexedly asking, “My daughter?”
Lu Xingye took his hand and placed it on his own abdomen, gazing at Lyss’ syrupy golden eyes, “Of course, she’s yours. During your first estrus, you cried and begged me…”
The rest of Lu Xingye’s words drowned in Lyss’ ears. He blinked in bewilderment, his cheeks inexplicably flushing as he mumbled, “I…”
Lu Xingye tilted his chin up, using his fingers to brush against Lyss’ lips, moistened by alcohol, “Remembering now?”
Lyss’ eyelashes trembled slightly, feeling embarrassed but still whispering, “It was me who gave birth…”
His shy and serious demeanor was starkly different from his usual self. It was like peeling off a hard shell, shedding the sharpness and making Lu Xingye feel momentarily like the one who was intoxicated.
On the way, Lu Xingye couldn’t stop thinking about consuming this person, but when the man sat before him completely defenseless, he suddenly felt no rush. Like a child unwrapping a gift, impatient before receiving it but contemplating how to unwrap it in the most meaningful way once it was in his possession.
Lu Xingye began to fill the bathtub with water, then placed Lyss on the edge, kneeling down in front of him without any restraint. He cradled Lyss’ flushed face, whispering softly, “You even forgot your daughter; such an irresponsible mother.”
The intentionally released scent of tea-scented pheromones enveloped Lyss’ senses, making him feel even more dizzy. Unconsciously, he held onto Lu Xingye’s shoulder, his fair legs brushing against Lu Xingye’s side.
“Do you still remember who I am?” Lu Xingye tantalizingly toyed with his lips, “What’s my name?”
Lyss obediently let him play, mumbling with the other’s fingers in his mouth, “Your name is Lu Xingye… you’re my puppy.”
As the bathtub filled, Lu Xingye, hearing Lyss’s response, immediately lifted him up and plunged them both into the water. The warm water enveloped their slightly heated bodies. Lyss instinctively tried to sit up, but he was pressed down, “You got only half of it right… I’m your puppy and your alpha.”
Lyss looked at him somewhat puzzled, “Of course, you’re my alpha.”
He seemed puzzled why such an obvious statement needed clarification. Lu Xingye paused, holding Lyss’ waist under the water, turning him around to embrace him. He stared without blinking at the bewildered yet obedient person in his arms, feeling an inexplicable excitement.
Lu Xingye was incredibly curious about testing Lyss’ limits, wondering just how far this intoxicated divinity incarnate would tolerate his actions. Once Lyss sobered up, Lu Xingye might risk infuriating the Chief, but he didn’t care. As the only favored little dog of the divinity, he confidently coaxed, “Be good, call me ‘brother.'”
Lyss hesitated for a few seconds, instinctively struggling, “You’re younger than me…”
“I know.” Lu Xingye unreasonably tugged at his tail and cooed, “Call me ‘brother,’ I want to hear it.”
Lyss pursed his lips, reluctantly but obediently responding, “Brother…”
