Chapter 60: Diary

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Lyss had just finished showering, with water droplets all over, a faint smile lingering on his face, exuding a soft aura all around. Lu Xingye hadn’t had the chance to thoroughly examine this room unseen after five years and stared blankly, completely taken aback.

With just that smile of Lyss’s, Lu Xingye nearly spilled the beans about childhood mud-play incidents, let alone the diary. It wasn’t the right time to read the diary. Lu Xingye felt a bit parched due to the enchantment, struggling to regain some composure. “Lin Lang might be hungry… how about I read it to you tonight?”

Naturally, one couldn’t let their daughter go hungry. Lyss showed a somewhat regretful expression upon hearing this. Retrieving the diary from Lu Xingye’s embrace, Lyss playfully remarked, “So precious, afraid I might hide it?”

Lyss nodded, “Just in case.”

Taking it quite seriously, Lu Xingye couldn’t resist wrapping his arms around Lyss’s waist, curious yet nervous, “Which entry did you read?”

Lyss, leaning against him, caressed the diary’s cover, glancing up at Lu Xingye, “Why are you nervous?”

Though feeling a bit awkward, Lu Xingye touched his nose and guessed from Lyss’s demeanor that they probably hadn’t seen the slightly over-the-top content. Lu Xingye diplomatically said, “I’m not nervous, just surprised.”

Lyss arched an eyebrow, “What’s written inside?”

Clearing his throat, Lu Xingye replied, “You’ll find out tonight. Let’s keep it fresh for later.”

Lyss narrowed their eyes, locking gazes for three seconds before suspiciously asking, “Are you trying to hide something from me?”

Suddenly exposed, Lu Xingye’s heart raced. Caught in the act, he stuttered, “No, really, I’m not.”

Ignoring Lu Xingye’s denial, Lyss stood up with the diary, “It’s about time. Go cook for Lin Lang.”

Lu Xingye quickly stood up and followed, “Leave the diary here. I’ll read it to you tonight.”

Lyss glanced deeply at him, “Come to my bedroom tonight for the reading.”

Lu Xingye hesitated in his steps. After coming back to his senses, he incredulously hurried to follow, “Wait, your bedroom?!”

Without a response, Lyss turned and headed downstairs.

Lin Lang had finished bathing and was in the living room playing with her tail. When she saw the two coming down, she joyfully ran up to them, showing Lyss her tail, “Mommy, my tail seems longer!”

Lyss lowered to pick up their daughter, “Yes, baby, you’re growing up.”

Lin Lang was quite pleased. Lu Xingye, noticing this, joked, “You’re eager to grow up, huh?”

The little girl leaned against Lyss shyly, “Because when I grow up, I can protect Mommy.”

“Protecting Mommy is Daddy’s job.” Lu Xingye pinched her cheek. “You just have to be happy.”

Lin Lang glanced at Lyss, “Mommy needs to be happy forever too.”

“I’m happy as long as I have you.” Lyss ruffled her daughter’s head, carrying her to the kitchen with Lu Xingye.

Lu Xingye, pretending to be upset, said, “Aren’t I here? Aren’t you happy with me?”

Lyss didn’t respond, and Lin Lang asked curiously, playing with her hair, “Why does Daddy call Mommy ‘Brother’?”

Both adults were caught off guard by the question. Lu Xingye looked at Lyss subconsciously.

Lyss pursed his lips and truthfully replied, “We haven’t gotten married yet.”

Lin Lang seemed surprised, turning to Lu Xingye, “Daddy doesn’t like Mommy?”

Lu Xingye, almost cutting himself while cooking, quickly clarified, “Of course, I do.”

“Then why aren’t you married?” Lin Lang looked at both of them, “I get it! Mommy must be anti-marriage!”

“Not at all,” denied Lyss. “We just haven’t thought about it. We’ll get married later.”

Lu Xingye’s heart raced at this statement, causing him to lose focus while chopping vegetables.

Lin Lang suggested eagerly, “Do you need a flower girl for the wedding? I’ll be Mommy’s flower girl!”

“Okay.” Lyss softened his gaze, teasing her, “If you’re my flower girl, what about your Daddy?”

“We’ll have a little sister soon,” Lin Lang confidently stated, “Daddy said we’ll have a little sister. When can you have her?”

Lyss was caught off guard, and Lu Xingye chuckled, “You’ll have to ask your Mommy.”

Lin Lang innocently looked up, asking Lyss, “When can you have her?”

After saying this, the father and daughter both laughed, leaving Lyss blushing and scolding, “Focus on cooking, both of you.”

Under Lyss’s “authoritative” command, the two stopped discussing the topic.

Lu Xingye’s cooking skills were still sharp, and soon, the table was set. Lin Lang happily finished eating and wanted to go to bed.

Lyss didn’t object much, just nodding, “Tomorrow is a day off, but don’t stay up too late. It’s not good for your health.”

Lu Xingye misunderstood, thinking Lin Lang was about to sleep after eating. He chuckled, “I thought you were really going to sleep. Turns out, you want to play with the terminal.”

Lin Lang, feeling a bit embarrassed, smiled, “Mommy doesn’t allow me to play during school time…”

“Mommy’s so strict?” Lu Xingye glanced at Lyss with a smile. “Okay, baby, hurry and go play. I’ll handle him for you.”

Hearing this, Lin Lang happily ran into her own bedroom. Lyss glanced at Lu Xingye with a wry smile. “You’ll handle me?”

Lu Xingye placed the dishes in the dishwasher and directly embraced Lyss by the waist. “Didn’t big brother promise to read you his diary? Where’s the diary?”

With one arm around his shoulder, Lyss somehow produced the diary from somewhere with the other hand. Holding the diary, he lightly tapped Lu Xingye’s cheek. “Why are you so true to your word today?”

Lu Xingye carried him towards the bedroom and raised an eyebrow. “When did I break my word?”

Lyss didn’t confirm or deny, letting Lu Xingye carry him into the bedroom and onto the bed.

Lu Xingye was about to get up when he suddenly felt shoulders pressed against the bed’s headboard. Before he could react, he felt something soft on his lap. Raising his gaze, he saw Lyss sitting calmly in his embrace, pressing the diary into his hands.

Lu Xingye melted at his cuteness and immediately surrendered, “I’ll read it now. Do you want me to start from the beginning?”

Lyss shook his head and casually flipped to a page. “Just this page.”

Lu Xingye agreed eagerly, but as he looked down, he suddenly halted. After three seconds, he spoke up, “This page contains another price. It’s too big a loss for me to read this. You need to kiss me.”

He said it seriously, catching Lyss off guard for a moment. Curiosity overtook him, and he didn’t hesitate to peck Lu Xingye on the neck, “Is that enough?”

Lu Xingye, taking advantage, turned his face slightly. “Need one here too.”

Lyss gave another peck. Just as he intended to pull away, Lu Xingye turned and kissed his lips.

The room was filled with a subtle yet suggestive atmosphere. Lyss tried to retreat but was held by the tail and pressed closer. He endured for a while, but Lu Xingye became more enthusiastic. Eventually, Lyss couldn’t hold back and pinched Lu Xingye’s ear to break the kiss.

Lyss’s grip was strong, causing Lu Xingye to gasp. “Ah—”

Lyss coldly demanded, “Read, quickly.”

Lu Xingye pleaded with a smile, “Alright, alright, I’ll read now. Can you let me go?”

Expressionless, Lyss released his grip, though a hint of a blush lingered on his lips, adding a unique flavor to his otherwise icy demeanor. Seeing this, Lu Xingye’s eyes softened. He looked down at the diary page and suddenly felt less awkward.

“September 24th. Weather: sunny.” Lu Xingye hugged Lyss’s waist and the diary, cleared his throat, and continued reading seriously, “One week until his estrus period… His expression remains as cold as ever, no different from usual. I’m truly curious, if I were to call him ‘wife’ in front of him, would he maintain this cold expression? Also, during his estrus, would he still be like this? Or would he become pliant upon touch? Would he cry and beg while being soft like a peach?”

“Can’t sleep, damn it. I really want to grab his tail and tease him until he bites his hand and cries, lying that if he holds the tail tip and kneels at the bedside, I’ll let him off. And then, when he’s defenseless…”

In terms of timeline, when Lu Xingye wrote this diary entry, the two hadn’t made any substantial progress, yet the diary had reached such a level. Lyss’s expression became increasingly indescribable, as if he were seeing a stranger.

Lu Xingye’s voice grew louder as he read, devoid of any tact, filled only with emotion. Midway through, he noticed Lyss’s indescribable expression, hesitated for a moment, and then pretended to be calm as he cleared his throat. “Um, that… this is just the beginning. Do you want to keep listening?”

  1. I think there was an error. It was LX that just had a shower and not Lyss….and how can Lyss have such strong will power and not read the whole diary all these years!!

  2. LX has always been drawn to Lyss’s strength and intelligence, but had always wanted to dominate, from the start.
Beaten by Lyss in their fighting match, the fantasies written back then of suppressing Lyss, can’t be suprising to him really.
Should’ve kept the diary hidden, LX.
Thank you both for the chapter.
