Chapter 60: Thrill

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Editor: Mimosa

The marking process was a bit more frightening than expected, and the concentration of pheromone in his body had slightly exceeded the limit of tolerance.

Ming Huan did feel a bit uncomfortable.

Yu Hanzhou was just a little bit out of control, and once the concentration exceeded the limit, the mental energy of both of them would have reached extremely dangerous levels.

Fortunately, the last moment remained at that critical level.

Yu Hanzhou found his sanity.

They didn’t really have to hurt each other with their mental energy.

Yu Hanzhou also had a little bit of regret.

Maybe this time he should not have marked Ming Huan.

He matched with this little omega dragon, and he was not very old, but he always had optimistic ideas.

Regardless of his pup period, he was self-conscious enough to buy a planet, and also determined long-term to blow up warplanes. Also being away from home in order to trigger that  big explosion in the suburbs, and even now had two dangerous marks in the short-term amount of time in that year.

He seemed – more and more led by the nose by this little dragon.

The pheromone [absolute match] also became more and more obvious with the dragon companion as it was in constant emphasis.

He raised this little dragon that had just broken its shell for more than three years.

It must be his mate.

That is, he is young, impulsive, stubborn, and adventurous.

Yu Hanzhou was not quite able to say exactly what it was now, but he seemed to have a vague sense of it.

Ming Huan was sleeping soundly in his arms.

The truth of this war was something that he could not let Ming Huan know about.

In their conversation just now, he also withheld some key information. He convinced him to go home after the marking, and used up Ming Huan’s strength with the marking so that he could lie down at home.

He was an omega.

For dragons, the omega was weak in strength, and their mental energy was less stable so there was danger in the marking.

He did not want Ming Huan to get involved in this matter.

“Xiao Huan, it won’t take long, about three more days, then I’ll go home.”

Ming Huan was now lying in Yu Hanzhou’s arms, curling his head in a good manner like a cat taking a lazy nap in the afternoon.

Yu Hanzhou smoothed his hair, and carried him to a leapfrog fighter. He let the two lieutenants around him follow before he directly locked the course.

After positioning, he kissed the sleeping little dragon’s white and delicate forehead.

“After sending him back to the residence, guard him until this war is over.”

He didn’t know why his heart still vaguely felt a little bad even though he arranged everything for the little dragon.

He always felt that there was something he ignored.

This uneasy feeling, even after sending Ming Huan to the warplane, intensified.

Yu Hanzhou used his mental energy to directly and completely control the leap data of the warplane where Ming Huan was, ensuring that the leap process would not be interrupted or interfered with by anyone.

Yu Hanzhou hesitated and gave two gentle pushes on Ming Huan’s shoulder before parting, “Xiao Huan.”

“Hm?”

The little dragon sleepily lifted an eyelid slightly, “What’s wrong?”

He rubbed his wrist.

“I love you.”

“Mn.” The little dragon yawned, and there was a little more crystal that spilled out of the corner of his eyes.

Yu Hanzhou reached out to wipe it away and rubbed his hair, “Go home.”

The leap fighter crossed directly over with Yu Hanzhou’s mental energy responding to make sure there wasn’t any error. Indeed, the leap made it to the main entrance of the Admiral’s mansion.

Ming Huan stretched, got down from the warplane, and pushed open the gate to head back to the residence.

The first thing he did was fill up the sprinkler with water and go to the courtyard to irrigate his little flowers.

They were growing so well.

They smelled very nice and beautiful.

As he was watering, Ming Huan got a little sleepy and yawned a lot.

He stepped on his slippers and went upstairs to go to his room to sleep again.

When he grabbed the door handle, he suddenly felt that something was wrong.

‘Where did the AI housekeeper go?’

His sleepiness was dispersed.

He used his mental energy to respond to the house’s permission system. Although there was only a microsecond difference, he also felt that the permission system had been briefly invaded – because he followed the vine to the interception gap in the information.

Just as he had hacked into the information system of Yu Hanzhou’s Military Department, he had also entered the interception for that.

The mansion had also intercepted information once.

‘What?’

Ming Huan steeply realized that and did not directly push open the door as there should be two room permissions.

The permission of his room had been moved.

It was like a dead-end knot that was untied and tied again.

Ming Huan immediately turned around and ran into Yu Hanzhou’s room diagonally across, unlocking it for a split second before taking over the master control of Yu Hanzhou’s house and opening the terminal to give Yu Hanzhou an alert, but the message was intercepted once again.

There was a “gada” sound. He heard the sound of his room opening.

There was the sound of footsteps approaching that stopped at the door of Yu Hanzhou’s room, and there was the attempt to push open the door that closed in his face.

‘Fuck, fuck, fuck.’

Ming Huan’s brain immediately lost his sleepiness. He was about to seize control of the entire mansion, when he suddenly felt a strong mental energy confrontation –

The pain was like a needle in his head.

“I won’t hurt you.”

The voice was familiar.

It was the consul of the Empire, “Child, do not try to attack me every time you see me. Why can’t you treat humans equally? You’re so trusting of Yu Hanzhou but won’t let me say a word. Just because when your shell was broken, he picked you up first?”

“….”

Just as Ming Huan considered whether to forcefully seize over the control of the house to send an alarm to Yu Hanzhou, he arrived at the door before the person added, “I will not invade the control of this house, as long as you do not touch the alarm, I will not attack you either.”

“You are the world’s only white-feathered dragon, the world’s only remaining one, absolutely a treasure. Your name is Ming Huan, right?”

The person’s voice seemed to be furious, but his voice was full of compelling moistness.

“A very good name. From the smell of your pheromone, I can tell that you are really a very powerful alpha. It’s good that you’re growing up smoothly, I’m happy for you.”

He was now permeated with the smell of Yu Hanzhou’s pheromone, not his. Thus, Hoth mistook him for an alpha.

At the same SSS-Level, there would only be a lose-lose situation if there was a strong fight for the control of the defense system of this house.

Hoth actually ventured deep into Federation’s first star’s mansion during the Great War, and was really bold.

He must not have had any genetic weapons on him, and there were no high-output fighters or even any leap mecha in the vicinity of the mansion – because this was not the outskirts of the First Star, and if he had carried these, they would have been easily detected by the monitoring station.

This meant that Hoth came alone. ‘Thus, would the current situation be a good opportunity?’ If direct mental energy was used to suppress each other’s words, then they could not catch him.

Ming Huan suddenly made slight movements towards this idea.

His mental energy tentatively moved to grab again, and immediately a light laugh came from the door, “I did not want to use direct confrontation to capture you, but you instead want to detain me.”

Ming Huan, who had insight into the action, could only tense up a little.

“The impulsive little alpha dragon sounds cranky. Yesterday morning, I did not deliberately sneak into Yu Hanzhou’s place, only, if I did not do so, you would not appear. You got hurt by the powerful electromagnetic gun last time, and it must have been very painful.” His attitude was entirely like an upper-class gentleman.

Unfortunately Ming Huan wouldn’t buy that.

“If you leave now, I’ll take it as if nothing happened.” Ming Huan’s voice softened.

“He is not your father. He only coincidentally picked you up.” His voice seemed full of pity.

Ming Huan was getting impatient with all this nonsense. However, he didn’t want to directly intervene like last time. This time, during the marking, Yu Hanzhou’s words were obviously left unfinished. Many things the alpha was unwilling to tell him. He wondered if he could coax some information out of this Imperial Consul.

“For him, you’re just a weapon against the Empire. He uses you to seize mineral planets, protect himself, and even in battles… Ming Huan, for him, you’re no different from a laser cannon, an explosive hunting aircraft, or any genetic weapon.”

He laughed. Would you marry a high-frequency output hunting-type electromagnetic cannon?

This person—really talkative. Ming Huan was almost unable to contain his impatience.

“Also, as a dragon, you probably don’t understand humans.”

Ming Huan’s eyelids lifted slightly, and his hand, about to forcibly release the defense system signal, paused slightly. It seemed like he could see the faint and cunning smile on the man’s lips through the door. The emerald-like pupils reflected an extremely dark light.

Hoth reached out, fingertips rubbing against the door, and released a bit of SSS Level mental energy that roamed through the room’s crucial lighting control system. The intense lights in the room flickered, “You see, just like me, you possess SSS Level mental energy. Among all, we, the pure-blooded descendants of the Imperial Royal Family, are the closest existence to dragons. Only I can understand you.”

Yu Hanzhou had also warned him before. The direct lineage of the Imperial Royal Family, all of them possessed SSS Level mental energy. Hold on. Why could all the members of the Imperial Royal Family have SSS Level mental energy?

“I understand the ambitions and ferocity of all alpha dragons. Even if hidden in the crowd, bestowed with a scepter, treated like gods… there’s still no way to erase the disdainful plundering desire. That’s your nature. I told you, dragons have two major vices: greed and ferocity. Yu Hanzhou attempts to tame you by any means, but your true nature cannot be suppressed.”

Ming Huan fell into deep thought. This time, instead of directly opposing, or even resorting to physical conflict like last time, he chose a more probing and indirect approach.

“So, why did you come to find me?”

Sensing that Ming Huan’s attitude was somewhat softened and not as resistant as the previous confrontation, Hoth’s face suddenly revealed a triumphant expression.

“In fact, among our existing fifty-eight star systems, there is a hidden main technological star.”

Ah-ha! The plot thickens! Ming Huan widened his eyes. This is what Yu Hanzhou hid from him! He knew why Xie Jue had to provide the Empire with leapfrog energy because Hoth had found the main technology star, just like the original story!

‘Ah, Yu Hanzhou, you dog, I knew you weren’t telling me the whole truth!’ Ming Huan thought furiously.

Hoth said in a light tone from across the door, “You found out yourself, as a white feathered dragon, all genetic warplanes, warships, weapons, and even all the defense control system information security devices of the Empire… you can have absolute control over. We can join forces and find this technological star. The empire, and later the larger frontier, we will be able to slowly explore and conquer. Ming Huan, your ability is by no means limited to this, you know in the unexplored areas, how many leap energy stars, how many never before seen warships and weapons, how many countless distant bright stars that you cannot imagine in the scenery? For the technology of a thousand years ago, we are now a primitive society, Ming Huan, we will go to conquer more distant stars and seas, and if you want, the Empire can return to the prosperity of a thousand years ago-“

“Primitive society?” After Hoth spoke at length, Ming Huan didn’t absorb half a word. The term ‘primitive society’ struck a nerve. Do you call the current technological level of the Federation’s capital a primitive society?! Does my agricultural planet, which I purchased, count? In your eyes, my longed-for retirement life is worse than a prehistoric society. Ming Huan rolled his eyes directly, feeling that his ideal life had been insulted like never before.

So, Hoth risked infiltrating the Federation’s capital at this time, and even dared to invade Admiral’s residence alone. Taking this risk to persuade Ming Huan…To help him find that main technological star.

“Xie Jue has already provided you with energy stones. You can take your time finding it,” Ming Huan said disinterestedly. “If you leave now, I’ll pretend nothing happened. We won’t harm each other, and we’ll let each other go, alright?”

“Yu Hanzhou is about to blow up our exploration space station.”

Hoth didn’t expect the little dragon to be completely indifferent, which was different from what he had anticipated. “If this continues, we will lose the only chance to find that main technological star.”

“Are you deceiving Xie Jue like this too?”

On the other side of the door, the little dragon seemed to sigh. “Tell him that only by activating that technological star can Xie Shuci be released.”

No wonder Xie Jue provided energy to the Empire without revealing more information about Yu Hanzhou and the white-feathered dragons. He was also manipulating the relationship between Ming Huan and Yu Hanzhou. Because he knew about the existence of two white-feathered dragons, as long as one was willing to assist the Empire, there was a chance to find that technological star. So, were his whereabouts also leaked by Xie Jue?

Due to Xie Shuci’s probability differentiation, Xie Jue even became sick, and he no longer believed that Yu Hanzhou could really help Xie Shuci. He wanted to borrow from far higher than the current level of technology to seek ways to control mental energy.

He admitted that if he had not read the original text, Hoth’s words at this moment seemed to be tempting.

It seemed that from the words, you could see the near future after the development of technological prosperity.

A vision of prosperity, but – he had read the original text. That main technology star only kept data on technology and previous biological experiments as well as a large number of combat-type starship weapons. When it came to the control of mental energy, it was not at all useful.

Xie Jue made the wrong move.

Yu Hanzhou was right.

The planet must be blown up, otherwise, the appearance of a large number of combat starship weapons would only make the world worse.

If Yu Hanzhou wanted to blow up the space station, he should just do it.

‘Let him do it.’ He feared that he would be deceived by the Empire like Xie Jue and also not believe in him at all.

Ming Huan’s heart held a little sulking, and he felt that Yu Hanzhou treated him as a child many times. He watched and protected him. He also treated him with care, but he always liked to make arrangements.

In fact, telling him wouldn’t be a problem. He was not someone who couldn’t be reasoned with.

“Ming Huan, you, the white-feathered dragon. Your genes perfectly match all genetic technologies of the ancient Empire. Once you activate the main technological star, you will truly become a ‘god.’ Are you really willing to let this opportunity slip away, just like that, in the hands of Yu Hanzhou, this ignorant human?”

“Sorry, I’m not interested. If you want to discuss this with someone who wants to blow up your space station, go find Yu Hanzhou.” After finishing his speech, Ming Huan lost his patience for further conversation. He began to wrest control of the room’s systems.

Hoth was forced into a corner and had to take this step. He never expected that after finally having another chance to converse with this white-feathered dragon, the other party showed absolutely no interest in being persuaded. The competitive spirit of alpha dragons was supposed to be very strong. Why did this one seem so indifferent and reluctant?

Enduring the pain of resisting mental energy, Ming Huan forcefully took back control of the room’s defense systems from Hoth. A powerful mental energy immediately counterattacked, feeling like a steel knife piercing into his head.

Those SSS-levels were really different.

It hurt a lot more than the last time he fought Xie Shuci.

Ming Huan covered his head, holding the door a little bit as he half-kneeled down.

He now realized how carefully and gently Yu Hanzhou used his mental energy to suppress the riot for him in the past because this mental energy confrontation was really painful.

Ming Huan’s nails were gradually sticking out, scratching a few deep scratches on the wall. It was just past the mark and his lack of strength made his control of the mental energy seem a little weak.

‘Shit, no way.’

Not believing this evilness, he gave up fighting for the right to defend, but directly manipulated Yu Hanzhou’s hidden leapfrog-type fighter in the basement of the mansion. He forcibly broke through the defense system and sent a distress signal out.

Due to this little resistance, his mental energy completely rioted, and he knelt in front of the door while using the only mental energy he had to guard the control of this room.

The sound of blasting gradually sounded.

Hoth sensed the leak of the distress signal and intended to blow up the mansion in order to take him away directly, not even caring that it would not hurt him.

“You can’t take me away.”

Ming Huan strengthened his mental energy against it, and his voice sounded a little weak, “Don’t try.” He endured the colorful and strong headache as he jumped out the window. The mansion exploded in a blazing fire at that moment.

The fire spread to the lawn, and the flowers that Yu Hanzhou had planted for him were burned to death.

Ming Huan watched as the tongue of the fire engulfed the cluster of extremely beautiful flowers that instantly turned into a charred black and dissipated.

Suddenly, his anger flared up, ‘I’ve been raising them for a long time! It was so hard to keep them alive! I watered it every day! This–Yu Hanzhou gave them to me!!!’

“You fucking–” Feeling enraged, he briefly grabbed the right to come to the house’s defense. Ming Huan directly reinforced it to the maximum, and two lieutenants stationed at the door immediately found that something was wrong. They tried to rush in but were stopped by the highest level of defense system.

“If you don’t want to go,” the little dragon’s eyes were red, “Then you do not need to leave!”

Ming Huan apparently ignited this cannonball explosion, and he roughly wiped off the blood on his nose, “Are you sick? Primitive society? Technology star…. A thousand years ago, if technology was so awesome, and so prosperous, why would the interstellar war happen?! Why would the human population plummet by 98%?! What’s wrong with your head?”

Tick.

The blood from his nose dripped down to his jaw.

Ming Huan gradually turned into his original form. His eyes shrank to vertical pupils, and his horns showed up. The wings on his back stirred up a hurricane of dust mixed with sparks, and the wind kept moving inside the shield.

His hands gradually turned into firm dark gray leather claws, and he gradually revealed his dragon body.

“Indeed, really a white-feathered dragon,” Hoth increased his mental energy suppression, and his eyes gradually revealed some suppressed excitement, forcing Ming Huan and half of his human form to show, “You, come with me and you will not regret it! You are the most perfect test subject, the most compatible genes–“

A steady stream of blood flowed from his nasal cavity and landed on the charred ground. Even the mouth of his throat was filled with the smell of blood. ‘How the fuck was Yu Hanzhou still not here?!’

The fire burned Ming Huan’s clothes, and he felt his head hurt so much that he couldn’t control his mental energy anymore. He was almost at the limit.

“Your control of mental energy is too weak, if you continue like this, the repercussions will be more severe. Control your temper, do not resist me, I said, my intention is not to hurt you-“

This little dragon had a really fiery temper. Just before, he was clearly not that angry.

When it came to convincing Xie Jue, who was a dragon that lived for more than 100 years, the idea was a very familiar one that Hoth had a handle on. the little dragon in front of him, who was just a few years old, did not play by the rules.

There were several times that he felt that this little dragon was very difficult to deal with.

It wasn’t about the ability, but the personality was difficult.

This young dragon’s temper flared up, and he would simply not allow anyone to say anything.

In the fire, Hoth stood on the crumbling wall, and could only first control the mental energy riot of the little dragon.

Even if the mental energy was rampant, he had to be very tired at this point.

If the battle could not end quickly, his mental energy will be in danger of collapse without a quick fix.

“You think clearly, if you really want to rely on the human’s development of technology, how many years would it take to reach the level it did a thousand years ago? Are you willing to live your whole life, living on a primitive planet as backwards as the current Federation’s first star? If you are willing to come with me, I….”

Boom….

The only remaining part of the mansion completely exploded, and the broken wall where Hoth stood exploded into pieces which the wild wind from the flapping wings blew away.

The smoke rolled straight up into the sky.

He did not know what sentence was wrong, but he seemed to have made the little dragon more angry.

“This? A primitive planet?!!!” The little dragon’s tail whistled and whipped around, directly interrupting the burning ginormous tree in the courtyard. “Primitive your ass–“
