The town is decorated with Xmas tress and light before Christmas. The shop owners decorate their windows and there’s a prize for best, chosen/awarded by local trade council. Last weekend before 25th December the high street is pedestrianised and an old fashioned outdoor market held. Really lovely.

There’s only one city in the world where New Year’s Day brings 10,000 people marching down the main boulevard in elaborate, sequined costumes.
The Mummers Parade has been an annual Philly tradition since 1901. I live in Philadelphia and the parade is on TV all day while cooking and families are gathered for dinner. Look it up😁 it’s awesome!!
