What do you think is lacking in BL? Any notable flaws? (Besides issues involving female characters)

Question of the Day: Day 279
Not so much a flaw, but, like with hetero novels, you get the odd [often] token gay characters, but neither feature other persuasions as a main character, making both less diverse in the process.
Obviously, the characters depend on the plot, but overall they seem far and few between. Women, too, are often portrayed as either slightly butch or weak (omegaverse), or bitchy, mean and jealous.
Bit more of a mix surrounding the main BL couple would be welcome.
the way the mc will never have any real friends bc all of them will fall in love w him to show the audience how attractive and desirable he is, or they’ll play extremely bit parts and won’t really confront the ml over the shit he does, or the friends mc makes are all ml’s friends first and foremost and will help him stalk mc. but honestly this is really a problem w a lot of romance media lmao.
