Do you see yourself as a purist? On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a purist are you? (Purists are those who prefer the original material over new adaptation, sub over dub, etc)

if the adaptation/modification is good, then it’s okay.
example, both versions of fullmetal alchemist anime are great.
but if the adaptation is rubbish, better to go back to the original.
1 low, 10 high; I’d say I’m a 6.
If the original is excellent, I don’t actively seek out a new version to watch (or listen to); different if orig was so-so though.
Novels can be disappointing when adapted to screen, but some have worked amazingly well. There’s the understanding they’ll need a lot of condensing, & censorship can be a pain.
I do not like dubbed at all. Voice overs can lack the emotion an actor playing the part gives…. always subs for me.
I consider myself to be a semi purist.
I prefer original material and subs. However, I do like dubs when I’m being lazy and don’t want to readđ
