Is there a type of BL you like most? (comedy/fantasy/cultivation) and one you like the least? Why?
Addis’ Answer: I like anything that has fantasy elements because I don’t want to read something that reminds me of the real world. I think cultivation is my least liked because the popularity of GDC blew up and it just made me hate the entire fandom itself.
Fantasy is my favourite. I love adventures, especially in long novels where characters change as the MCs move through the story. The author has to be good though, or else mistakes in names & happenings, confuse & spoil it.
Smut is least favourite. Not because I don’t like sex scenes (I actually do, in context – I don’t want it left to my imagination), but because I find many lack an actual story & become incredibly repetitive. Others can be just ‘eeew’! Some are good though.
Hmmm I like comedy the most so far and if I had to pick a least favorite it would definitely either be omegaverse or dom/subverse or whatever the other one’s called because those almost always have noncon anddd I’m not a fan of that at all
Anything fantasy related. Cultivation is great and also overlap xuanhuan. I’m finding that I really enjoy fantasy/contemporary blends. Court drama with fantasy yay! Least like military and sci fi. I’m not sure why but I haven’t found a compelling sci fi yet.
I love fantasy very much. It makes me excited. I prefer action n adventure along with it. Cultivation is nice too.
If I have to point out what I like the least is comedy when the novel is sad. Recently I was reading a novel and there was a sad past reveal but the scene became so awkward when it became a smut scene very quickly. I was like you were discussing something sad, ya knw? So how can u talk about steamy now? It ruined the scene😐
I kinda like all genre… as long as it is good and got my attention.
GDC was my first book to that “World” and it introduced me to many other good novels. – I’ve read all (I think so) of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu novels, thanks to you for introducing me to it 🙂

I usually avoid anything related to modern world and post-apocaliptic or futuristic worlds. I’m fine with anything else I think
I really enjoyed GDC and thought I would love all wuxia because of it. But I find some wuxia, with endless battles describing different battle plans really boring. Especially if the MC manages to gain all kinds of rewards or strength without any real conflict or effort. So I’ve started to avoid those stories. Now I’m enjoying the science fiction stories.
For webnovels, cultivation wins by a landslide. For mangas/manhuas/manhwas I generally prefer modern romcoms or dark fantasy
Favorites are fantasy, sci fi, futuristic and ones where the characters go through rounds to solve stuff like Card Room.
I don’t like dom/sub and non consent. How can a character love another character and keep coming back to them just to be abused? Never understood it.
I like the novels that has to do with lots of brainwork(case solving, psychological, surviving in some game or apocalypse like those) 🤭😂… And I like the novels where the shou or gong has some past trauma or amnesia and they try to overcome it by supporting each other… I like stories which has fantasy and comedy elements in modern settings…
I don’t like omegaverse and mpreg type of novels… I will read these types of novels only if the plot is interesting 😅
Cultivation, definitely! I love how some people are strong and also that some of them have so many levels! (But sometimes the protagonist power is too much) fantasy is also rly cool, it was almost a tie!
I agree! Cultivation and about be reborn its a No for me, I don´t know why but It´s no my thing. I love omegavers! With happy endings.
My favourite is fantasy, with interstellar in the first place, any type of mithology, furriness and omegaverse closely following. I also like cultivation novels, although I don’t read them often, same as modern fantasy.
I like Farming, Fantasy, Transmigration and Interstellar. What I least like is Comedy , I don’t have a lot of humor and Apocalyptic census I think that although the story is different, the context is always the same.

Fantasy is by far my favorite genre of anything, which for me includes most cultivation. I hate anything without at least a modicum of a happy ending. Also, horror.
I just don’t like drama or horror, only happy endings for me.
I like more fantasy, I don’t like Cultivation because there are sects with their disciples, I don’t like groups ,I like more individuals. I think the GDC is exceptional 😊😊

Modern dog blood rich CEO is my least. There’s only so many rags to riches Cinderella as they conquer the entertainment world with their Uber rich boyfriend all while fighting their slag family stories I can take.
I really like scifi BL. Mechs and things are just super interesting to me. In contrast, I actually really dislike modern and historical bl because it’s usually a lot of arguing back and forth on whether homosexuality is ok or not and it’s just like, let’s move past this discussion already! Of course it’s fine! Stop wasting time on this stupid argument and let me focus on my otp lol!
Supernatural, fantasy, and something wholesome while we’re at it. I prefer to not read anything that has transmigration in it, especially halfway-through types (replacing someone). That’s why I hadn’t read SVSS yet, though I’m trying because I got hooked by Shen Yuan’s VA. He’s hilarious!
I like cultivation and interstellar novels the most. They are totally different from real life and give me a kind of special ‘escape’. That being said, as long as the story is good and well balance I can go for any type of BL… as long as there is no non-con/rape as an excuse/road to love… and a happy ending please.

I don’t mind reading any type of BL (but I love anything with fantasy elements, even if it’s just modern rebirth/transmigration) except if it involves incest… I also can’t handle it when the cp grows up as step-brothers/had any feelings resembling real siblings and suddenly fall in love together after growing up… I honestly don’t understand how they suddenly fall in love together after being brothers for a few years¯\_(ツ)_/¯ no hate tho!
I am not a big fan of fantasy, or when they go back to the past…
