Is there a story that just blew your mind with how much research the author did, and how well they used it? 

 

G: For me it’s a tie between Mist and Surprise that Talent Show Was_?! both had some amazing research in to some very complicated subjects that they successfully integrated into the story.

it’s a manga with shinsengumi background. although the story itself is quite dramatized. but the mangaka always added an omake at the end of each book to explain some trivias and history facts that appeared in that volume.
it’s like you learn history without you realizing it.

also detective stories. ah! i still feel fascinated in every detective book that i read.
