Do you prefer American English or British English when reading novels?

British, since i started learning to read and write with it
I prefer American English since Iâm a latin American.
depends on the background and the character, i guess.
if it’s a royalty, a noble or a scholar who is speaking, i prefer a formal british english. (while imagining them speaking with bri’ish noble accent, you know đ)
a modern background or normal folks can use either casual british or american english.
American because British slang has uncommon words that I’d have to look up the meaning.
American, because it’s more familiar.
I prefer American English
British English for me.
I’m British, but which form if English is used in translations doesn’t bother me, as long as the chosen words fit the character and context.

I am so sorry, but i don’t know the difference between the two…I just read in english (i don’t know if it’s in British or American), and i search on google when i don’t understand…
it doesn’t matter for me. What’s important is that the translator doesn’t suffer too much.
