Chapter 14: He could crush Heinrich’s heart.

Lin Xu’s breathing was rattled for a while, and only when the wind that carried the smell dissipated did he slowly adjust his breath back to normal.
Finally, he reached out to buckle Heinrich in and retreated to the empty pilot’s seat to the side, where the starship should have entered warp, leaving him feeling a little stuffy in the head.
The blood odor had faded considerably, but an almost tobacco-like aroma seemed to be creeping in, light and gauzy, but once Lin Xu noticed it, it was hard to ignore.
It was not tobacco, Lin Xu thought.
The humans of the interstellar era lost the tobacco plant and instead imported another liquid from the Slime planet in place of nicotine, which smelled like seawater when it burned.
Lin Xu took a few more deep breaths with his eyes closed, not resisting the scent, he was even a little curious. At the museum banquet, he smelled this smell, but at the same time, felt the attraction of the crystal nucleus energy, and did not have an accurate judgment of the scent.
Now there was no crystal nucleus, yet this scent was still there. Lin Xu searched through his vague memories before the apocalypse and vaguely matched the smell with a spice called vetiver.
Was this Heinrich’s pheromone?
Lin Xu’s physique was different from that of interstellar humans, and he had always thought that he could not smell pheromones, but now it seemed that maybe he could smell pheromones in an alpha’s blood?
But that was about it.
—
Lin Xu only occasionally closed his eyes for a few minutes to take a nap, and spent the rest of the time turning the interior of Blizzard’s cockpit carefully. The AI, which had learned to pop up light screens for him, explained the purpose of the different parts.
When S105 accessed the Victoria’s inner cabin, a shock woke him up abruptly. Arnold informed him that a medical professional would take over the follow-up afterwards, and Lin Xu followed the instructions directly down to the starship, where the logistician would lead him to his room.
Arnold stood at the connection between the inner module and S105, numerous uniformed figures surrounded him in a circle. They exchanged information quickly with words, intelligent medical machinery and medical personnel entered the interior of the starship under command.
The inner chamber, which could accommodate the landing and takeoff of countless starships, was extremely wide. When Lin Xu reached the door leading to the interior of the Victoria, even with his hearing he could only vaguely hear conversations in the distance, and the entire Victoria was so unimaginably large that it almost made humans who tried to imagine it tremble.
But she was just a drop in the ocean in the vast universe.
Through several sections of silver-white corridors upward, walking personnel gradually reduced, and finally almost invisible again.
“Mr. Lin, the iris and fingerprint lock have been recorded for you.” The logistician instructed him to push open the door of room 003, and the lights in the room automatically came on. Two figures, one black and one white, sprang to Lin Xu’s feet and tried to climb up his pants.
Lin Xu took them by the neck and threw the two rabbit-cats away. He was now covered in blood, so it was better not to stick to the rabbit-cats’ long hair.
“All of your traveling gifts forwarded by Mr. Kalt are here, and there are brand new personal items and clothes inside the premises.” At this point, the logistician’s voice paused unnoticeably, and seemed to survey Lin Xu’s current attire with a subtle look in his eyes.
After the fight with Heinrich, he looked a little worse for wear.
But it was only for a moment, the logistician continued, “If you want to… tour the Victoria, you can always open the Victoria’s general plans, which is marked with your permission area. Please, pay attention to safety. Special nutrients will be delivered later, please wait a moment.”
Lin Xu nodded, the logistician stood in place for a while, found that the other party did not make any other requests, saluted and left. Lin Xu carried the two rabbit-cats into the room. The splendid galaxy outside the floor-to-ceiling window hit his pupils head-on, he swept a faint glance, turned to get a change of clothes and walked into the bathroom.
The accommodation on board the Victoria was considerably better than S105, which had a narrow bed and a low cupboard of five square meters and a small square window, while room 003 was five times larger, with a large bed and a wide desk, as well as an en-suite bathroom with a choice of nano-cleaning or a bath.
Soaking in water was a luxury on a long interstellar voyage, and even Lin Xu, a basic non-interstellar traveler, understood this, and a large soft bed and carpet would not be standard in military accommodations.
Lin Xu guessed that this was the accommodation area for outside guests. He chose the nano-clean mode and took a shower. His black hair was fluffy and soft on his head, and he rolled into bed in his bathrobe, closing his eyes slightly and quickly falling asleep.
The lights were automatically extinguished by smart sensors, and Blackie and Snowy curled up at his cold feet, eyes open but quiet, knowing not to disturb their master.
–
Heinrich’s susceptible period lasted only a short time. He woke up a few hours after boarding the Victoria, rinsed the blood off his body, changed his clothes and returned to his room. Passing through the corridor, the faint sweet scent caught his attention.
Heinrich glanced at room 003.
Arnold, who had received the news that Marshal had woken up, arrived in a hurry with Zhou Pingbo. By the time Zhou Pingbo had pinned Heinrich to a chair with a stinky face and treated his wound, the spilled blood had soaked through the new clothes he had put on, and only the outermost fabric was not stained red due to its waterproof nature.
Zhou Pingbo used tweezers to pull off the dragon scales that had grown deeper into the wound. The silver and white scales falling on the waste tray clanked as Arnold stood straight and reported to Heinrich about the ups and downs of the Abyss Fleet during the time they had been away.
When they got to the fleet’s patrol change at the Natural Evolution, Zhou Pingbo, who was doing his job quietly, suddenly spoke up, “Your fleet’s been a little shaky lately.”
“What’s wrong?”
Zhou Pingbo raised his eyebrows and let out a pout, “Lord Marshal, I did not recommend Lin Xu to you as a matchmaker! What’s the matter with you taking a bite out of a beta’s neck? Yesterday, when he walked down S105, the smell was so strong… I thought it was my recommendation, so I should have gone to meet him in person, but I couldn’t get within 10 meters of him! I was almost kneeling on the ground because of your pheromone. It was hard to find a beta logistician to help him. Most of the people in the inner cabin smelled your pheromone at that time, so… there was a lot of talk and speculation among your soldiers, especially after you placed him in the opposite room.”
Zhou Pingbo, an E-physique alpha with a good brain, got a job at the Imperial Institute and was currently one of the leaders of the expedition. Yesterday, when he approached Lin Xu, he almost fainted from the pheromone with the strong implication of circling the territory and threatening outsiders.
Heinrich listened, his face slightly frozen, “I know.”
“What do you mean, you know?” The tweezers in Zhou Pingbo’s hand clanged the metal tray, “Do you like Lin Xu?”
The physical instincts of an alpha couldn’t be fooled, especially when the other party was clearly a beta. Unlike an omega, who could use pheromones to induce an alpha to lose its mind out of desire, Heinrich still bit down on Lin Xu’s neck.
“I…” Heinrich moved his lips, didn’t say more, and got up to open his terminal.
Zhou Pingbo glared at his patient, “What are you moving for? The scales haven’t been cleared for you yet, so you’ll cut the wound again later. How come the wound is opening up again?”
“I accidentally stretched the wound when I fought with Lin Xu.”
After listening to Heinrich’s calm account, Zhou Pingbo’s expression was subtle and he asked tentatively, “Did you mean a fight, a real fight, or was it something else you experienced for the first time so you had no experience…”
“Cough cough, Professor Zhou, you pay attention to the impact.” Arnold reminded with a twitchy face.
Zhou Pingbo’s expression became more subtle, “It should be the former, after all, it was you who passed out, not Lin Xu… No, Lin Xu could knock you out and tie you to a chair?”
That was exactly what Heinrich was trying to say, and he moved the terminal screen to Zhou Pingbo, on which was playing a video from inside the cockpit of Blizzard, of Heinrich holding Lin Xu down and burying his head in the nape of his neck, the ambiguity almost spilling off the screen.
“Ahem, Marshal Chu, you mind the impact.” Zhou Pingbo commented. The scene made him feel awkward, but Heinrich kept a serious face and paused the scene to zoom in on the back of his neck and Lin Xu’s palm, then continued.
Lin Xu’s fingernails suddenly grew and rested next to Heinrich’s aorta.
Zhou Pingbo’s face became heavy as he curbed his smile.
Heinrich switched to the next scene, Lin Xu unzipped his uniform jacket, the atmosphere should be charming but because of the change in the previous video, the tension of the unknown was cool. Lin Xu’s nails grew again, and with his left hand, he used the sharp edge to cut through the fabric of the inner combat uniform, revealing the left half of Heinrich’s chest dripping blood.
The long, sharp fingertips roamed over the muscles as Heinrich fell into total unconsciousness, and whenever Lin Xu wanted to, he could apply a little pressure and pierce the skin, crushing Heinrich’s beating heart.
The author has something to say.

The smell of vetiver is rather subtle, a bit smoky, but also because it is an herb, a bit woody and fresh. When I wrote it, I probably depicted it as a combined version of the three perfumes on grey vetiver, lelabo vetiver and wilderness heather.
The first two vetiver scents are strong, and there are other scents in the wilderness heather that are also very strong, vetiver is not the main part, it smells really good, I super love my bottle.

Proves that his future Mate is not a pushover đ
I hope this is not an overly strange thing for the interstellar era or there will be many questions about his finger claws
