Chapter 93: Pregnant

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Editor: Karai

The autumn afternoon sun wasn’t glaring, casting a warm glow into the study through the filtered window screens, revealing the current state of the room. It was almost unrecognizable from its original appearance as a study.

Duan Yizhou’s study had transformed from a space with a few small inventions to now having only a desk, bookshelf, and everywhere one looked, custom-made mechanical supercar series LEGO sets. Even the books on the shelf had been removed and replaced with assembled supercar model blocks.

On the tatami mat, Luo Songran sat cross-legged on the carpet, engrossed in assembling the custom-made supercar model Duan Yizhou had ordered for him.

Due to wearing thin home clothes, his already round belly seemed to be placed on his lap, especially with this sitting posture, making his belly even more prominent. Perhaps because the pregnancy was progressing rapidly, his limbs seemed slender.

This scene was observed from outside the room for a long time, but eventually, someone couldn’t resist breaking the tranquility.

Knock knock knock—

Luo Songran, holding a tire part in his hand, looked up in surprise at the door and saw Jiang Yi standing there. “Oh? Why are you here?”

Jiang Yi stepped aside, gesturing for the person behind him to bring in the items. “Boss Duan asked me to bring these customized models to you.”

Luo Songran looked at the various supercar model blocks being brought in one after another, his eyes lit up, nodding in satisfaction. “Hmm, not bad, very much to my liking. I’ll give feedback to Boss Duan later and let him know how much I love them.”

Jiang Yi chuckled, thinking about their boss’s recent behavior. “It seems Boss Duan is also deeply influenced by you.”

“Influenced by what?” Luo Songran patted the space beside him, inviting Jiang Yi to sit. “Come on, let’s chat.”

Seeing this little ancestor wanting to chat with him, Jiang Yi felt a bit helpless. “Are you going to ask me about me and your cousin again?” Recently, this little ancestor had been showing a keen interest in his and Chu Beiheng’s affairs, wanting to hear about everything.

But anyway, he was his future cousin-in-law, so he couldn’t avoid talking about it.

So he sat down only after the delivery workers left.

Seeing Jiang Yi sit down, Luo Songran looked closely at his face, noticing a hint of fatigue. “Why do you look a bit weary? Did you have a quarrel with him?”

That scumbag Yan Nanchen still hadn’t said it? His cousin was about to return to China, and he didn’t say it yet? Was he trying to scare his cousin to death by giving up treatment like this?

“No.” Jiang Yi thought Chu Beiheng wouldn’t quarrel with him. “Your cousin is very good to me; he wouldn’t quarrel with me.”

Luo Songran thought this was an actor-level performance, but it wasn’t surprising coming from twins who had studied together. At least the mole on their noses looked exactly the same. Plus, their voices were very similar. It was really hard to tell them apart if they hadn’t lived together since childhood.

“It’s just that I’ve been feeling nauseous and wanting to vomit recently, especially in the mornings. My appetite hasn’t been good either. I don’t know what’s wrong. I went for a check-up yesterday; I’ll ask the doctor when I go to pick up the report.” Jiang Yi casually mentioned.

Luo Songran froze instantly, looking at Jiang Yi’s profile, his gaze probing down at Jiang Yi’s belly. He hesitated, suddenly having a bold guess. But he didn’t dare to say it.

Damn, this couldn’t be! This, this, this… if it were true, wouldn’t his cousin suddenly returning to China mean he gained a wife and child?? It would definitely shock his cousin.

“Have you told my cousin?” Luo Songran patted Jiang Yi’s shoulder, feeling heartache but also a strange mood.

“Not yet. He seems to be quite busy recently, still hasn’t returned from his overseas trip last week.” Jiang Yi finished speaking and fell silent for a moment, as if he had remembered something. He looked at Luo Songran. “RanRan, I have a question for you.”

“Go ahead.”

“I feel more and more pressured being with your cousin. Although he doesn’t pressure me, it’s pressure I put on myself. I feel like there’s a huge gap between me and the Luo family.” Jiang Yi clasped his hands together on his lap, his face showing rare anxiety and melancholy. “My family is very ordinary. My father was a truck driver. He died in a car accident while delivering goods when I was in primary school. My mother was a seamstress in a clothing factory. It wasn’t easy for her to raise me. She passed away last year from stomach cancer. Although I’ve never felt inferior because of my family, the longer I’m with your cousin, the more I feel this way. I’m worried—”

Jiang Yi hadn’t finished speaking when he felt his shoulder suddenly hugged. He looked at Luo Songran in surprise, only to see this little ancestor looking at him with teary eyes, full of love.

“What are you worried about? That my cousin isn’t good enough for you.” Luo Songran felt uncomfortable hearing this, especially with his pregnancy making him more emotional. Now hearing about Jiang Yi’s situation, he hated Yan Nanchen even more. His second cousin had let Jiang Yi down. “You don’t need to worry about our family having such thoughts. We don’t. My grandfather was kidnapped by human traffickers and managed to escape by his own strength, raised himself up. If there’s anyone to worry about, it’s my cousin.”

“Your cousin?” Jiang Yi didn’t quite understand.

Luo Songran nodded. “Yes, someone as outstanding as you being with my cousin is his honor.”

Jiang Yi was amused by him. “No way, your cousin is also very outstanding.”

Luo Songran thought his cousin was originally outstanding, but Yan Nanchen wasn’t. He felt an itching sensation to beat someone up because of this scumbag. Suddenly, he had a very ominous premonition.

“Okay, I have to go pick someone up at the airport. An important client is coming from overseas today, and I have to receive him.” Jiang Yi stood up, looking at Luo Songran with a smile. “Thank you for comforting me and letting me feel at ease. I’ll leave now. Take care of yourself, see you next time.”

Luo Songran waved his hand and said goodbye as he watched Jiang Yi leave.

The figure of Jiang Yi seemed to have changed from the alpha period, probably because after differentiating into an omega, he had become much thinner, although he still looked tall and well-proportioned.

He sighed heavily, fiddling with the building blocks on his hand. He was also in agony; he knew, but he didn’t dare to say. This double torment made him feel very depressed. Why did Yan Nanchen have to be like this? Wasn’t it better to speak out bravely?

A stitch in time saves nine.

Sighing heavily, he completed the supercar model he was working on during the process. Love, how different its taste was. Regarding the melodramatic relationship between his second cousin and Jiang Yi, as an observer, he couldn’t make a decision. It was like being torn between two worlds.

It seemed that even if he stopped this melodrama from happening, it would eventually happen sooner or later, just a matter of scale.

After spending more than an hour on the model, he received a call from Papa. He put it on speakerphone and continued assembling.

“Hello, Papa?”

“RanRan, come home tonight, bring Yizhou with you. Grandpa said he wants to meet Yizhou.”

Luo Songran heard Papa mentioning Grandpa, “Grandpa is back?”

It had been a long time since he had seen Grandpa. After officially dating Duan Yizhou, he had called Grandpa, but Grandpa’s tone didn’t sound particularly happy. It was hard to tell whether he was happy or not when he called after he got pregnant. He didn’t know what Grandpa’s attitude towards Yizhou was.

And Grandpa hadn’t come back, and the two families hadn’t officially met yet. He was five months pregnant now, and it couldn’t be because Grandpa disagreed with him being with Yizhou, right?

“Yeah, so let’s meet Yizhou first and then decide whether the two families should meet.”

Luo Songran frowned, “Papa, it won’t be because Grandpa disagrees with me being with Duan Yizhou, right? This can’t be, right?”

“No, it should be because he’s reluctant to let his doted grandson leave.” Papa laughed on the other end of the phone. “Your Grandpa is currently having a cold war with your dad because of this matter. He originally didn’t want to meet Yizhou, but your dad has been praising how good Yizhou is to you, how good he is in everything. That’s why he agreed to come back and meet Yizhou.”

Thinking of his Grandpa, who was not true to his words, Luo Songran said, “So Duan Yizhou is really good, and it was me who made the mistake at the beginning.”

Suddenly, he realized that his previous deceptive and hurtful behavior towards Duan Yizhou was no different from his second cousin’s. Duan Yizhou, this silly man, had been waiting for him all along. How fortunate he was to meet such a silly and devoted man.

But what about Jiang Yi? He felt that Jiang Yi was not that kind of person. If he was hurt, he would definitely cut off all ties and leave.

After chatting with Papa on the phone for a while, he hung up. Just then, his phone vibrated. He picked it up and saw a message. After reading the content, his eyes widened.

[Eldest cousin: RanRan, I’m back. I’m at the airport now. See you later, dancing with joy.jpg]

He immediately picked up his phone and went to the tatami mat, hurriedly put on his slippers, and walked to the garage. He pressed the button to unlock the car, and the lights of the Berry Pink car flashed. He quickly got into the car, fastened his seatbelt, and drove out of the garage.

He didn’t know if he could make it. Even if it was in vain, he still wanted to try to stop it.

Before, he had thought about wanting his cousin to come back quickly to expose this lie, and fortunately, his cousin had said he couldn’t come back yet because he was busy writing his master’s thesis. But now that his cousin was really back, this lie was really going to be exposed. What was worse, he had a worse premonition.

Earlier, Jiang Yi said he’s been feeling nauseous and vomiting recently. It’s been two months since his second cousin last marked Jiang Yi. If no measures are taken during this period, and if the compatibility is high, there’s a high possibility of pregnancy. He’s afraid of this. If Jiang Yi finds out he’s been deceived and acts impulsively, it would be disastrous.

This matter is no longer solely Yan Nanchen’s affair. After his second cousin and Duan Yizhou learned about it, it became a family matter. While they should scold and reprimand Jiang Yi, they wouldn’t favor anyone. However, they also hope Jiang Yi can minimize the pain he’s about to face in this situation. That means avoiding encounters with his elder cousin.

Luo Songran stepped on the accelerator, ignoring several traffic lights, hoping to prevent this tragedy, which is actually irreversible.

Confused. I thought the mole on the nose was what differentiated Chu Beiheng from Yan Nanchen; but they both have it?
Why would they scold and reprimand JY?! What has he done wrong? He was blamed for LS’s behaviour before and lost out; attacked defending LS; been lied to by YN; and is now pregnant by his fraud of a boyfriend.
None of them, including DY, are good enough for him!
LS will be in trouble for these reckless actions.
Thank you both for the chapter.
