Chapter 29: Everything has its vanquisher

Translated by Kollumceti of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Although JinYu felt a little reluctant and lamented after selling the wolf pup, but just like what BaoZi had roared, they were all on the same planet and it was not like they would never meet again, there was really no need to be so sad. What’s more, that little wolf pup was too young. He believed that not too far in the future, that fella LanZi’s would come to his door crying for help when the rebellious periods, puberty and all kinds of messy things arrived.

All in all, JinYu was still in a good mood since it was his first successful sale.

However, when he saw all the messy pile of disabled beasts in the cart, his original good mood turned into a roller coaster. It exerted all its strength to slide down but there was insufficient momentum when it was time to go up and it got jammed. The mood surrounding him was as low as it could be.

Besides JinYu, Big Boss Qi was also ferociously releasing an equally gloomy aura. Once Boss saw all these disabled beasts, he thought of the Chaotic Primordial Qi that should have belonged to him being used by JinYu to heal the beasts. Bloody hell, even if the Chaotic Primordial Qi could be recovered, with so many injured beasts in a short while, it would be at least half a month later when it’s my turn!!

Thus, the gloomy and depressed Boss Qi turned his head and glared darkly at Cheng Liang and the Big-Tailed Wolf behind him. If it weren’t for you guys, why would Lao Zi be fighting with these low-class beasts over the Chaotic Primordial Qi?!

Cheng Liang and the Big-Tailed Wolf immediately sensed Qi QingLin’s gloominess and killing intent. They shivered from head to toe. Then Cheng Liang decisively pulled up Li Xiao, who had not yet understood the situation, and stood up to say goodbye,

“That, Jin-zi! See, today your business’s success and your store has opened. You’ll probably be very busy now. Xiao Xiao (1) and I will not disturb you anymore. We’ll make a move first and treat you to a meal a few days later when we’ve completed the mission!” Cheng Liang and the Big-Tailed Wolf called out as they ran off at the speed of light. As Little Green was more sensitive to Big Boss’s unhappiness than his own owner, he also carried Li Xiao and ran as fast as he could. Thus, there was only the group of four – Jia, Yi, Bing, and Ding – left in the shop.

As Big Boss Qi’s most devoted subordinates, Jia, Yi, Bing, and Ding collectively stated at this moment that they were under great pressure. If possible, they also wanted to scram off like those two guys! Damn it! But if they ran away, their own lives would not be enough to bear the consequences. So the four of them did not run. Not only were they unable to escape, they also had to think of a way to pacify their master’s fury.

“Uh… Master…,” DingBai just opened his mouth to say something and he immediately received a swift and fierce glare from Qi QingLin. Then he bitterly shut his mouth and wiped it! Now Master’s unhappiness is at Level A ah! Under normal conditions, he would only be able to vent his anger by biting a Level A beast to death…

“What are you doing? If you’re free, come and help. There are about forty of these beasts. Tch, there are some seriously injured ones. I don’t know if they can be saved.” JinYu was not releasing a gloomy aura at this time. After all, he was willing to treat and cure these disabled beasts. His previous depression was just because he was in a bad mood to see so many abandoned and injured beasts. Naturally, he should rush to cure them after being upset.

But this time, there seemed to be a rather headache-inducing existence among the forty three beasts. It was a wolf dog that looked rather like a big husky at first glance. However, there was a slight difference as there was a black horn growing from the forehead of this fellow. The existence of this black horn turned this husky that was originally classified as a ‘absolute dunce’ into a fairly fierce and tough beast in JinYu’s heart. In addition, this horn that should have been an offensive weapon with rather high attack power was now broken, and there was even pus and blood dripping from the wound. With this fella’s growling and teeth-bearing appearance, en, it seemed hard to get close to it.

“Let me think for a moment. XiaoBai! Go and bring my Great Encyclopedia of Beasts over. I’m absolutely clueless about the species of this fella. I need to understand what it is first.”

As soon as JinYu’s words were heard, Jia, Yi, Bing, and Ding nearly collapsed at once. You can’t be serious! You don’t even know of this extremely famous Level A beast? What are you even opening a shop for?!

However, JinYu had no sense of shame at all. In any case, he was considered as half a foreigner and it was still a foreign country even if this was the country he was born in! One should not demand for the knowledge and common sense of a native from him. Otherwise, they’d certainly be disappointed, and in the worst case, they might fall into despair, oh. Kiss.

A picture of the husky with the broken horn, crouching in the corner, was taken with the Great Encyclopedia of Beasts that XiaoBai carried over. In the next moment, the Great Encyclopedia of Beasts automatically turned to a page—

Listening to Great Dictionary of Beasts’s mechanical voice introducing the Black-horned Thunder Dog, JinYu’s gaze towards it became more and more interested. Unexpectedly, this seemingly ferocious and tsundere fella was actually a Level A beast. However, he did not know who would be more powerful when compared against his family’s BaoZi, XiaoXue and XiaoBai. DaBai was a Level A+ beast, so there was no need to compare them.

JinYu’s gaze towards the Black-horned Thunder Dog was glittering with schemes and dollar signs, making it somewhat irascible. It could not help baring its teeth again and getting into a defensive posture.

Speaking of which, the Black-horned Thunder Dog felt that it was very unlucky recently and it was the type where it was so unlucky it could cough up blood. It originally lived well on Desolate Star Number One and was like a local despot. Although it’s territory was not large, it lived freely there. However, it didn’t know which one of the Rank Seven Hunters had nothing to do after eating their fill and came to catch it with their Level B+ beast. It could have either electrocuted or bitten either one who came to death, but ganging up on others was immoral!!

Thus, it was caught and was then sent to an aristocrat’s house.

In actual fact, the aristocrat was a nouveau riche local landlord. It was at a gathering of high nobles that he accidentally saw a young aristocrat leading a Black-horned Thunder Dog and felt it was extremely stylish, so he and paid a lot of money to find one. But that fella was retarded ah! Didn’t he know that wild Black-horned Thunder Dogs are hard to tame?! The Black-horned Thunder Dog led by the young aristocrat must have been raised by him since childhood, okay? Unfortunately, that aristocrat did not know this. So, on the third day of its arrival at the aristocrat’s house, it risked it’s life, broke its horn and escaped.

The days after its horn broke were extremely bitter. Its strength fell to Level B and it’s situation was even worse with Hunters and Trappers chasing after it in the previous month. Fortunately, it did not kill that local landlord. Otherwise, there would probably be more people after it. It was just – what was the situation now?! It was still happily sleeping in the garbage heap last night. How come it was knocked unconscious by someone and sent here today?

Could this be a certain research institute?! Looking at the man with peach blossom eyes that was giving a smile which was full of evil designs, the Black-horned Thunder Dog decided that if this fellow came one step further, he would break his neck with one bite!!

“Tch, tch, I say, even with a horn adorned on it, a dunce is a dunce.” JinYu could basically determine that this Black-horned Thunder Dog was a wild and violent fella by looking at a series of actions it had shown. But even after so long, it had not seen that the other well-behaved beasts had been carried off to bathe and eat. If this was not a natural dunce, then he would have really seen a ghost.

However, this Black-horned Thunder Dog did not seem to have very serious injuries. The most troublesome thing was the broken horn on its head. Since it was so energetic now, it was better to go examine the others beasts first. He seemed to have seen an old black eagle with serious injuries.

Jin Yu raised his feet and took a step forward. In the next moment, the Black-horned Thunder Dog roared and arched its body in preparation to bite!

In that instant, a tremendous pressure firmly enveloped the Black-horned Thunder Dog, making it feel an irresistible urge to flee while tucking its tail between its legs. With a low and frenetic cry, the Black-horned Thunder Dog looked up and saw a pair of chilly and murderous golden pupils.

“Shut up and sit down.” A faint and slightly cold voice rang in the ear of the Black-horned Thunder Dog. Almost instinctively, the latter sat on the ground in the best sitting posture and dared not move a muscle.

When Qi QingLin saw the broken-horned Thunder Dog being so honest and obedient, his unhappiness from being neglected by JinYu from the very beginning had finally lifted a little bit. In the next moment, JinYu turned around and cast a smile, which directly let Big Boss Qi release most of his discontentment.

Qi QingLin sighed as he helplessly looked at his partner who was earnestly treating the beasts. Forget it, forget it. Since ancient times, there was a saying that every family had their own problems. His partner was at most a workaholic? Well, it was already quite good that he had no extramarital affairs, unfaithfulness, or favored an outsider instead of someone on his own side. Besides, Boss Qi could certainly say that his partner was an undeniably special existence among the Three Great Clans. He even had to guard against his partner being seduced away by the heirs of the other clans. En, he really didn’t have it easy. He’s also really worthy of admiration.

Seeing at their master slowly turning his anger into some weird mood, Jia, Yi, Bing, and Ding breathed a sigh of relief. At the same time, they could not help sighing. The hell, was this situation demonstrating that everything had its vanquisher?! Boss, who should have flipped out violently, was actually pacified by a smile. Rub! The old saying really does not deceive one!!

The author has something to say:
Big BOSS > all the headache-inducing beasts > ordinary beasts > beasts for daily life. Then, in a certain direction, Boss Jin is ∞ (infinitely great). Pfff.

T/N: (1) XiaoXiao is Li Xiao’s nickname.

Thank you for the chapter! Well, yeah a smile from your beloved can pacify almost every bad mood.
I’ve been wondering for a while now, does JinYu have pink eyes? I mean peach blossoms are pink, cute pink, sweet pink, but nonetheless pink, and having peach blossom eyes means having pink irises?!
And every time they mention technology I have to remind myself that this book is a mixture of wuxia and sci-fi, unusual but interesting!
