Hey everyone!

MXTX’s books have officially been released in English!!

Please buy the official version of GDC! (Affiliated Links)
Book 1
Book 2
Book 3

By the time you read this, my translations of MDZS, from Chapter 20 onwards, will have been removed from ExR’s website. Seeing years of my work deleted from the web will be quite heartbreaking, but it was certainly the right thing to do. I had no hesitation, and I have no regret.

To everyone who read my translations, who supported me throughout the journey, who joined and contributed to the English-speaking danmei fandom — words cannot describe how grateful I am. When I first started translating the story back in 2017, I would never have imagined that so many people from around the world would be reading danmei stories. It all happened so fast that on some days I still can’t believe it. I mean, we’re getting licensed English danmei now?? Absolutely wild.

On the flip side, I’ve also experienced a lot of pain and frustration over the past few years. Apart of me felt compelled to write about it, to type up every detail and prove to the world just how much I had been suffering, to challenge every baseless accusation thrown at my work, to point fingers, to go out with a bang. But I decided against it at the last minute — no, more like I was suddenly able to let go of it. Maybe I’m just too tired. Or maybe I’ve finally come to accept that the only acceptance and acknowledgment over which I have control are my own.

清者自清。

In the future, I will no longer post any new fan translations or danmei translations on my main account (@6989kaye). I will, however, be finishing up some current projects (The Missing Piece, Dawning/After Dawn, Huaye when NPSS finally updates it, etc.), but when those are finished, I doubt I’ll do much other than keeping up to date with fandom shenanigans and retweeting fan art. I will still be translating, though, and I’ll keep on translating for a long time. We’ll probably meet again, in some corner of the translation world.

Also, Twitter mutuals: if you’d like to keep in touch, feel free to DM me for my priv!

Other than that, once again, thank you for your support along the way. If you enjoy MXTX’s stories, please consider supporting her by buying licensed English translations! Her stories have saved me in the darkest of times, and it makes me happy beyond words to see them reach such a wide audience. All I had ever wanted was to share my niche little interest with the world and make some more friends. In this regard, it truly is a wish come true, and I am thankful for everyone who made it happen.

All the best,

K.

  1. For your translation, it’s not a lost. i like to read on my kindle, so i have your translation on file, when i ask my friend to read mdzs, they cant push trough with the original, all says its to boring and to wordy. so, i would just send your translation file to them, and they loved it more. so even if you cant be the official translator; we all love your work, and we can see, the love and hard work you put on it. THANK YOU

    1. Is there any way you could forward it to me. I’m buying the original Books of course (to support the author!) but my heart is breaking knowing that I can never read this version in my life again. I read it not only ones but three times and it got me through rough times during the last year’s. 😦 I can’t believe it’s gone forever…

    2. yea, i really appreciate k.san n team translation, for fan work it was professionally done 👍
unfortunately ONSYAM, i haven’t finished reading it, just got to chapter 121 extra n suddenly it was taken down… so… ☺️ if you happen to still have those last chapters in your file n would be so kind to share it with me i’ll really-really-really appreciate it 🙏🏻 cos, much as i’d really like to own the book, in my case it’s not affordable, cos you know, ahem, low salary n all 😅
pretty please e-mail me 🤗 thanks in advance

      1. erm… dunno if e-mail address would show up in thias site, so should you okay with that my request just add gmail.com after roverotter 🙏🏻

    3. Would you be so kind to share the Exiledrebels translation? First, I tried to buy the official, but since I’m in Mexico is so hard to get a Kindle version. And right now I’m not even sure, because of the comments I have seen, it worths the effort to pay more for the shipping version. Anyway, I’ll keep trying to get the original for the author, but I’m dying to read this version again, please???

    4. I’ve just bought the official translation as well, but I really do miss the style of K’s translations :(. I would also like to request that you sent the file to me, but I do understand if you don’t want to.

    5. Hi! I wanted to save it, and I had put it off so many times thinking, that I could come back and read it wheneber I wanted. Could you please send me on email? I would be very glad! My address is celebloth84 at gmail.com thank you in advance!

    6. I also have the first volume, but I would really love to have a copy of K.san’s work. Hers was the very first danmei I’ve read and got me hooked on reading MXTX and also introduced to me the world of novel translations. If you would be so kind as to send me a copy, just add @gmail.com after my username. I would really appreciate it.

    7. Hi! I’ve been dying to find this version of novel, I only read this twice and now just got back because I miss reading this but now I’m crying and heartbroken founding out that this version is deleted😭 PLEASE I’m begging you can you please send it to me🙏 I’m still studying and broke I don’t have the money to buy the book tho I promise if I get a job I would definitely buy the 3 books to support the author. I really love this novel so much I’m still crying if only I knew this would be deleted😭

    8. OMG I wish I had saved it as well I started reading it but it got deleted before I finish it and I want to buy it but I CAN’T cuz such books are prohibited in my country:'( would u be so kind and e-mail it to me please I’m dying to read it

    9. I am heartbroken that this TL by K is gone I agree totally with all the comments here-and I humbly ask if it is possible to send the file? I promise to buy the “official” version to support the author but the one I read will be the heartfelt version by k! Please do me this kindness I will be forever grateful! 🙏🏼 desuma at me dot com

    10. I am heartbroken but understand the removal and wish I had saved it! I have purchased the official as well but if there is any chance you would be so kind to forward your file I would so appreciate it!

    11. Like everyone else, here I came to read K’s version again cause it was the best, and it’s not here anymore. I just can’t. I’m too broke to buy the office books as I’m still studying, but purchasing the books and have it as a collection is a life goal for me. Until then, can you, if possible, please send me a copy of the file as well? This book has touched my soul in a deep way and is very precious for me.. 🥺

  2.

I have read the official translation and I am disappointed. It is as if there was only a simple translation without putting the soul of this masterpiece. I fell in love with the way K understood and translated with the real meaning behind the words. She put all the emotions that the author wrote into it. She understood the characters so well. Even the cover disappointed me, almost ugly and didn’t reflect the novel. I have the impression that the official translation was rushed.

    1. I agree. I recently finished reading the first official book. It is missing K’s special touch, the love of a true fan. It’s a shame that K didn’t get to be a part of the official translation. I hope that at least the next 2 novels are more detailed. I’m so heartbroken over not being able to read K’s translation.

  3. Ah… It finally removed and I feel like want to cry idk why haha. But it’s the right thing to do, so I just gotta suck it up and buy the official. Tho I really have to say: I cannot thank you enough for translating this novel, but thank you so so much for your hard work. This novel is one of the thing that kept me alive for 2-3 years of my depression days, so thank you for providing the translation. It was a pleasant memory for me. Wishing you and the team a bright future!

  4. Thank you! for your translation. I was able appreciate better the other adaptation because I was able to read the novel you’ve worked hard to translate. As an international fan I really appreciate your work. God speed!

  5. I'm so heartbroken. K, in my eyes, you are that amazing storyteller behind the curtain that helped spread the word of MDZS to the world. To see the original translations (yours) are forever gone makes me so sad. I'm glad I managed to finish reading prior to you taking it down. I hate that MXTX didn't choose you or include you in the official translation, that's just awful. For that, I'm sorry and for your hard work, Thank You! The fandom appreciates you!

  6. On a lighter note… although we always joke about Lan Xichen being the captain of the WangXian ship, I think the honorary title belongs to K. At the very least, K was ushering new fans onto the ship every day for many years. Pat yourself on back K, you did God’s work. Thank you for everything!

  7. You’re so sweet! I hope that any project you decide to undertake will make you happy because you truly deserve it! I cried and laughed with this novel and in the end I even started to learn Chinese and the history of China which brought me so much joy I could have never imagined.

    Best wishes, dear!

  8. I’m so sad to see this… In Amazon, because I tried to buy the official translations, people say it is nice, but in here some are saying your version is nicer, and I do remember I liked so much your style that I was even thinking on doing a Spanish version (translating is a hobby of mine, but nothing is published). For me, getting any official version is complicated because I’m in Mexico and there are lots of Kindle restrictions and the physical versions are more expensive… I’m so gloom abou

  9. I bought the first volume (and pre-ordering the rest), and while I certainly liked reading that, your translation feels closer to heart somehow. K, do you think I can still have copies of you translation nonetheless? I’ll show you proofs of my purchase if you’d like. I just feel a deep sense of loss if I can’t read yours anymore ㅠㅠ

Thank you for everything you’ve done!

  10. I’m also heartbroken 💔 I liked your translation more, I loved it. Please, don’t ever give up translating. The reason this and other danmeis are translated officially in English is you guys, it is thanks to you that we could meet and enjoy this genre and it became popular in so many countries outside China also because of you. So in your own way you helped the author the most. I have proof of purchase, so if you ever decide to exchange a copy of your translation for it, I would be overjoyed.

  11. I just started out being a fan of this story. It was a godly experience and majority of the fans are leading me to your creation. I respect your decision and it’s your right to take it down but please don’t give up doing translations if it’s really your passion. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

  12. thank you for the message! I’m sorry to hear you’ll mostly be exiting from the danmei fandom, but it’s great that you’ve been able to let go of the pain you’ve experienced all these years.

I wish you the best in the future! thank you for being the one to share MDZS with the English-speaking fans of the world!

  13. Well, how lucky of me to join the party after it ended… I got into mdzs by anime, then manga, then drama Untamed, and then I became interested in Chinese culture and philosophy and I’m making connections with my European philosophy, even wanting to learn the language because I started to like it, it’s very different but also complementary to our own culture of thinking. Too bad so little of Chinese culture is available abroad and many people can’t understand or experience it.

  14. I’m sure there would be no translation to English without the hard work of people from this site, people like these who worked from the heart. I ordered the official version but I really liked the fan translated one too. This even got me started on other Chinese novels.

  15. i just took a break from reading this for ages, and then i went back on and i see its deleted. dont get me wrong, i understand why you did that. honestly, i loved your translations. ive just brought the official one, and i prefer yours so much more. your tranlsation seemed to really emulate the emotions much better than the official. thank you for translating this, alotough i couldnt finish reading it 🙂

  16. Thank you for all these years of hard work. I think you helped to popularize the genre and for the novel to gain even more attention. I was stuck at ch 123 and came back to check on it. I’ll try to get my hands on the official release as the story is so captivating no matter how much time have passed. I usually don’t read things as long as this but the quality of the translation and the story got me during that time. I’m still in search of my next passion that will make me as excited as this one

  17. I’m late to this but thank you for the translations!

Your work is the best and I’m ashamed of myself for not finding you sooner 🙁

  18. Hi K! I rarely comment but this time I have to, to thank you. I read your version of MDZS and it is so different compared to the official one. You put in so much effort into translating. Your version allow me to fully immerse into the world of MDZS that is why it is so special. I was sad to see it go away when I visit your site to re-read MDZS. I am over the moon now that I found your translation in pdf and will cherish it forever! Know that somewhere, someone is still appreciating your version!

  19. Ah this sucks, the 7s translation is so godawful I can’t continue it. Thank you for everything I could only read a up to that but it was great and definitely got me through some bad times. I’m sorry for all you’ve been through take it easy.

  20. I’m pretty late in this discussion. I wanted to thank you for translating this amazing story. Me and my sister fell in love with it. We watched and read every form of this story that we could. Now, we have purchased every book that has been published of every story she has created. I was able to know and support the original author thanks to you. Keep being amazing and you have all the love from me.

  21. I had already read your translation of this book before and i just totally loved it! I came to love this story , characters and everything . I just suddenly wanted to read this again and i came back but it was not here , well it can’t be helped as you must’ve been through a lot to come to this decision. Anyways thank you for all your hardwork, this place will be a good memory for me. Good luck to you !

  22. I feel so glad that I was able to finish the whole translation from here…. I sometimes thought about reading it again but it’s deleted from the site now I decided I will buy the book maybe this year or next.thanks for all the translation ❤️

  23. I came here today because I remembered your beautiful translation and I was ready to read it once again for my delight, as I had the link saved at my favs markers.. I feel sooooooooo incredibly sad to know that you took it outta here, that an official translation was created BUT is not matching the readers expectations and that we will not be able to fulfill our hearts with your hard work for good. Still, I feel soooOooOo lucky to know that my 1st Chinese BL novel was your translation so TYSM K!
