both mengyao and mingjue are kind of assholes, but mingjue is arguably much worse because he acts like he’s better than mengyao despite having killed far more people. mengyao at least understands that he’s not a great person…. mingjue really needs to get off his high horse

aaaaaa okay what Nie MingJue did to HuaiSang wasn’t nice at all. i personally really enjoy painting and whatnot so I sympathise with him. Its kinda sad that after Meng Yao deceived Mingjue and fled, no one ended up taking his side again, not even someone like his own brother who, while he knew wasn’t interested in cultivation all that much, he probs thought Huaisang would at least help him run the Clan and become Clan Leader after him. Even Zewu-Jun, arguably the kindest human ever produced, never truly took Chifeng-Zun’s side. Am I the only one who thinks NMJ is fine? Yeah, he probably killed more people than MY did, but listen, they’re cultivators in a time of war. It would be weirder if they didn’t kill people. At that point, death is just a given, and how many people you killed doesn’t really matter. Maybe NMJ killed more people because he was better at swordsmanship, not because MY didn’t try. No matter what people say, i will always stand with Nie MingJue because as bourish as he was, he had high moral values and only killed during wars. He didn’t take other lives as nothing. Another example that SL and XXC had it right in trying to build a sect based on common principles rather than blood. Both Jiang Cheng and Huaisang are unfit to be leaders for diferent reasons. Sad thing for this pressure to rest on them.
