Mary Sue Chapter 7: Smack my boss across the face!

An awkward three seconds had quietly passed between them. Ye Xi wiped the cold sweat off his face and stuttered, “Mr. Chief Executive, sir…w-were you transported here as well?”

Shen Xiulin slightly arched his brow, “Hmm.”

After that singular question, Ye Xi fell into a deep silence as if a spell had been cast on him. He was never any good at talking to his superiors.

Shen Xiulin spoke in his usual impassive tone, as though he was just recalling an ordinary event, “I arrived here three days ago. Apparently, it was due to many authors being dissatisfied with me.”

Ye Xi hastily nodded, “Me too. I came here because I rejected a few novels. This world came from one of them. It seems like that particular author has a lot of resentment toward us…”

Shen Xiulin mildly hummed in acknowledgment, “I thought I was alone in this world.”

Ye Xi feebly echoed, “I thought so too…”

Shen Xiulin, “This is better, we can look out for each other.”

Ye Xi almost wanted to cry, “Right, right, we can look out for each other.”

Better your head! There are sex scenes coming up, I’d rather be with someone virtual!

Ye Xi had a mini-meltdown on the inside, then asked Shen Xiulin, “I was told I have to get to Level 99 in order to leave this world, is it the same for you?”

Shen Xiulin only had one word for him, “Yes.”

Ye Xi fell silent again and discovered he had nothing else to say to Shen Xiulin. So, he went against his conscience in an attempt to flatter his boss, “Your Aura of Tyranny looks so cool!”

Shen Xiulin’s face remained impassive, “…”

Ye Xi awkwardly coughed.

Can I ask the professionals in the audience, was my last comment a bit dumb?

The two of them stood face to face, staring at each other. Shen Xiulin lowered his eyes, stopping his gaze at Ye Xi’s feet. He slowly examined Ye Xi from bottom to top, then finally fixed his eyes on Ye Xi’s face. He said in a gentle voice, “You look different.”

“Ah, yes.” Ye Xi nervously scratched his head, “I look better than I did before.”

Shen Xiulin arched the corners of his lips, “You looked pretty good before.”

“Haha, thank you.” Ye Xi sputtered out a dry laugh, then once again fell into an awkward pause, leaving the two of them to stare at each other eye-to-eye.

Help!!!!! I can’t do this! I really can’t be myself around my superiors! This is so painful!

Meanwhile, Shen Xiulin interrupted, “Have you seen Main Quest 2?”

“Not yet, I’ll read it now!” Ye Xi shot up out of reflex and quickly opened his quest interface.

Main Quest 2: Huangfu X breaks in and pushes Murong X onto the bed. He tears off Murong X’s clothes, then attempts to force himself onto this little creature who dares to defy him. Huangfu X believes that Murong X is just stunned by his proposal, he does not accept that anyone in this world would actually refuse his love…

Struggle forcefully in bed. Smack Huangfu X across the face, then tell him to go to hell. (0/1)

Ye Xi looked like he had just hurled himself face down into a pile of dog shit, “…”

Holy fucking crap! You aggravating system! Don’t you know that Huangfu X is the big boss at my company?! I fucking still have twelve years left on my mortgage, I don’t want to lose my job!

“What does your Main Quest 2 say?” Shen Xiulin asked.

“Umm…” Ye Xi suddenly realised that the quest instructions between Shen Xiulin and himself were different. They each had to complete their own part of the quest, and when one person completed his quest, the other person would share his experience points. Like earlier, when he received two lots of 500 points, which added up to 1000 points.

The first lot was rewarded after he had completed his own quest and the second lot after his teammate had completed his quest. The first lot of 500 points took him from Level 0 to Level 2 and the second lot took him from Level 2 to Level 3. This meant that the experience points required to level up would get higher with each level…Sharing experience points with teammates and levels getting more difficult were all basic gameplay for an RPG, it was quite easy to understand.

Shen Xiulin repeated his question, “So what does your Main Quest 2 say?”

Ye Xi forced himself to focus, “It is…to struggle, then smack you across the face and tell you to go to hell.”

Shen Xiulin said calmly, “Okay.”

Ye Xi, “What about yours?”

Shen Xiulin looked straight ahead as if he was reading from his quest window, “Push Murong X onto the bed, rip off his clothes and attempt to force yourself on him. After being smacked, leave him with angry words that one day he would willingly spread his legs and tearfully beg to be fucked, then walk away without turning around.”

“Uh…what?” Ye Xi was so embarrassed that he could not look at Shen Xiulin at all. He could only silently curse at the system and the author for being sick in the head.

Shen Xiulin calmly looked at Ye Xi and paused before speaking, “I haven’t finished.”

Ye Xi, “Please…continue, sir.”

Shen Xiulin said in a calm and steady voice, enunciating each word carefully, “Tips: Murong X’s clothes must be torn to the point where his entire upper torso is utterly exposed.”

“Fuck!” Ye Xi could not help but curse in front of the chief executive.

“Looks like we will have to follow the instructions to the letter.” A gleam momentarily appeared in Shen Xiulin’s eyes.

Ye Xi, “…”

Shen Xiulin, “Did you know that the system requires a high level of precision when it comes to completing quests?”

Ye Xi, “What do you mean?”

Shen Xiulin, “Main Quest 1 required me to break open the door, press you against the wall and announce that you were mine. I specifically clarified with the service desk that all of these details had to be satisfied before the quest could be considered as complete.”

Ye Xi replied frailly, “I understand…”

Shen Xiulin nodded, “Good, then let’s begin.”

Ye Xi waved his hands like a maniac, “Wait wait wait, Mr. Chief Executive, sir, could you please give me a moment to prepare myself? It’s not like there’s a time limit.”

Shen Xiulin said coolly, “Go ahead.”

He then walked towards the edge of Ye Xi’s bed and sat down. He took off his coat and loosened his tie, unbuttoned his shirt sleeves and rolled them up to expose a length of his gorgeous arms. Next, he took off the watch on his wrist and the ring on his finger, and put them away in his pant pocket, as though he was afraid of accidentally injuring Ye Xi.

It was obvious that he was preparing for the next act!

Ye Xi sheepishly followed him. He sat down on the bed one metre ¹ away from Shen Xiulin and spoke in a small, mousy voice, “Sir, can I ask you something?”

Shen Xiulin, “Hmm?”

Ye Xi put on his best sycophantic smile, “Are you in a hurry to get back to the real world?”

Shen Xiulin turned to face him and examined him with slightly narrowing eyes, “You don’t want to complete this quest?”

Ye Xi scratched the tip of his nose, “This quest is a bit…much. How about we complete it some other time…”

Shen Xiulin coldly interrupted him, “I’m in a hurry to go back.”

Ye Xi nervously rubbed his hands, “Then, h-how about tomorrow…”

Let’s wait till tomorrow. Please let me have the rest of today to mentally prepare myself. As a straight man, I’m really not comfortable with being pressed under another man and having my clothes ripped off!

Shen Xiulin decisively waved his hand, “Begin.”

Ye Xi jumped, “Sir, do you mean now?!”

Shen Xiulin mercilessly started a countdown, “Three, two, one…”

Partially acting and partially because he really wanted to escape, Ye Xi jumped up from his bed and ran towards the door. He only managed to take a couple of steps away from the bed, when Shen Xiulin’s arm reached around from behind him, firmly gripping his waist, then forcefully yanked Ye Xi into his lap. Shen Xiulin’s low, seductive voice whispered next to his ear, “Sorry.”

“No…” Ye Xi instinctively tried to pry open Shen Xiulin’s arm from his waist. But perhaps due to hidden settings in the system, Shen Xiulin was much stronger than him in this world and Ye Xi was easily outclassed. Shen Xiulin effortlessly extended his arm and threw Ye Xi onto the bed without any resistance.

While Ye Xi was still feeling like a candle flickering in the wind, Shen Xiulin pressed down on top of him and pinned down Ye Xi’s thighs with his own legs so Ye Xi could not flail about. Then with a firm grip on the top edge of Ye Xi’s shirt, he pulled forcefully, and a clattering of sparkly buttons bounced and rolled all over the floor. Ye Xi struggled strenuously under Shen Xiulin’s body. He pressed his palms on Shen Xiulin’s chest and attempted to push him away, but Shen Xiulin quickly used one hand to secure Ye Xi wrists on top of his head, while his other hand peeled off the fabric still covering Ye Xi’s body…

Ye Xi had a lean figure in the real world, but a pretty boy filter had been applied to Ye Xi’s appearance after being transported to the Mary Sue world. He had smooth, alabaster skin, with the faint glow of white jade; a distinct collarbone, slim waist, and no cellulite whatsoever. Even his nipples were a pale pink, just like the subs created under the pens of BL writers.

It was not scientifically accurate at all!

But he was beautiful…

Shen Xiulin became momentarily stunned by the sights in front of him. His deep crimson eyes instantly grew darker and his smouldering gaze almost swallowed Ye Xi whole.

Ye Xi struggled with all his might, “Stop!”

Our Chief Executive is a natural! The way he tore off my clothes was so realistic, it looked like he really wanted to fuck me!

Shen Xiulin’s lips curved up slightly as he stared at Ye Xi’s chest without blinking. In a hoarse voice, he commented, “The view over here isn’t bad.”

In an act of futility, Ye Xi tried to pull his wrists away from Shen Xiulin’s pincer-like grip, “My hand, let go…”

How am I supposed to slap you if you grab onto my wrists like that?

Shen Xiulin maintained his position where he held down Ye Xi’s wrists with one hand and ripped off his clothes with the other. His eyes raked Ye Xi from top to bottom, then secretly relaxed the hand that held Ye Xi’s wrists.

Ye Xi took this opportunity to free his right hand and raised it high up in the air. He then plucked up all the courage he could muster and aimed his palm at Shen Xiulin’s face.

Shen Xiulin arched his brow slightly and stated with a commanding presence, “Don’t you dare.”

Ye Xi only managed to brush his trembling right hand against Shen Xiulin’s handsome face and whimpered with the volume of a small kitten, “Go to hell…”

Aaahh! I don’t dare!

For a whole second, Shen Xiulin became disoriented by Ye Xi’s flirtatious ‘slap’ and soft whimpering before quickly recovering. Following the script, he glowered furiously at Ye Xi, then condemned in a frosty voice, “Ha, just you wait. One of these days I’ll make you willingly spread your legs and tearfully beg me to fuck you!”

As soon as he had finished speaking, Shen Xiulin turned over, got off the bed and walked away without looking back. Like a complete rascal, he left the scantily clothed Ye Xi on the four-hectare ² bed all by himself!

Shen Xiulin quietly came back a minute later.

Ye Xi sat up on the bed and they stared at each other in confusion.

Shen Xiulin, “My quest isn’t complete, what about yours?”

Ye Xi bitterly watched the glaring ‘(0/1)’ in his quest window, “Same.”

Shen Xiulin furrowed his brow, “I think the problem is you didn’t actually hit me.”

Ye Xi looked at his boss with a tormented expression, “…”

Shen Xiulin calmly reasoned, “My quest instructions said ‘after being smacked, leave him with angry words,’ but I wasn’t actually smacked.”

Ye Xi sighed from the bottom of his heart, “The system is so exact! Can’t I just act it…or do I really have to hit you?”

“Yell at me then hit me hard.” Shen Xiulin added, “I won’t be mad.”

“Okay, sir.” Ye Xi nodded more times than necessary, “And you won’t deduct my bonus?”

Shen Xiulin, “Promise.”

Ye Xi took a deep breath, “When it’s time to hit you, could you please not say anything like ‘don’t you dare’? I really don’t dare to hit you when you say things like that.”

Shen Xiulin, “Okay, I won’t add any extra lines this time.”

Ye Xi harrowingly pulled out a new shirt from his wardrobe and took off the ripped one.

Without blinking, Shen Xiulin stared at Ye Xi’s backside while he changed.

“Okay, I’m ready.” Ye Xi fastened all of his buttons and walked back to the edge of the bed. He looked at Shen Xiulin with the expression of a martyr marching to his death, “Please begin, sir.”

Watching Ye Xi with an almost tender gaze, Shen Xiulin gave a low chuckle, “Don’t worry, we can redo this a few more times if we need to.”

Ye Xi, “…”

No, no, no, I don’t want to redo this a few more times, alright?!

It’s only the second quest and he’s already feeling so tormented, mwahahaha

He really isn’t brave enough to slap his boss across the face…

(The chief executive indicated that he felt pretty good about his performance and is prepared to redo a few more takes.)
