Once again, Nan HuaiLin woke up in the hospital.

Ruan Xin was by his side and when he woke up, he asked, “How do you feel? Are you feeling better?”

“Assistant Ruan?” Nan HuaiLin’s voice was muffled as he sat up on his bed, “What are you… doing?”

Ruan Xin briefly told him what had happened, and finally said with reproach, “Why didn’t you say anything when you were sick? Thanks to Hannibal’s wisdom you’re okay, but if you had waited until Mr. Fei came home from work, your brain would have been burnt.”

Nan HuaiLin apologized profusely, “I’m so sorry to bother you.”

Ruan Xin sighed, “You should rest for a few days, and go back to work when you are well.”

Nan HuaiLin said, “No, no, I’ve always been in good health. I’m sure I’ll be fine tomorrow.”

Ruan Xin said, “Tomorrow is Saturday, and Mr. Fei is usually home on weekends, so housekeeping doesn’t need to come to the house.”

Nan HuaiLin was slightly relieved and said with a smile, “I was so confused, I didn’t even know what day of the week it was. I’m glad you reminded me, otherwise I would be in trouble if I went to Mr. Fei’s house tomorrow.”

Ruan Xin said, “I have to hurry back to the office. You can ask your friend to come over to keep you company.”

“Okay,” Nan HuaiLin was grateful and sorry. “Thank you, Assistant Ruan.”

Ruan Xin smiled at him. “Get well soon. I’m leaving.”

Nan HuaiLin felt that Ruan Xin’s smile was like an angel’s, especially healing, and he was almost charmed. He wanted to be like Ruan Xin, good-looking, talented, and with a superb personality; just perfect.

Ruan Xin drove back to the office, and met Shen Chong in the elevator.

“Assistant Ruan, did you go to the hospital?” Shen Chong asked.

“How did you know?” Ruan Xin was surprised.

“You smell like sterile solution.” Shen Chong said.

Ruan Xin lifted his arm and smelled it, smiled, and said, “You have a good nose.”

“I’m very sensitive to the smell of disinfectant.” Shen Chong said, and then asked, “What’s wrong with you?”

“It’s not me, it’s–” Ruan Xin paused, deliberating his words, “a friend.”

Shen Chong raised an eyebrow and smiled, “It’s not a boyfriend, is it?”

Ruan Xin said, “A male friend.”

Shen Chong asked again, “Do I know him?”

Ruan Xin laughed, “Why are you so nosy? Like paparazzi.”

Shen Chong said, “Only with you, beauty Ruan, do I gossip. If it were anyone else, I would not bother to ask. Who is it that you are hiding?”

Ruan Xin was silent for a short while and said, “Nan HuaiLin, our company’s artist. Do you know him?”

Shen Chong was surprised. “Holy shit, what’s wrong with him this time?”

“This time?” Ruan Xin was a bit startled. “It seems that you not only know each other, but also seem to have some friendship, huh?”

“I did a scene with him.” Shen Chong said. “Which hospital is he in? I’ll go see him.”

“Chongwenmen’s Puren Hospital.” Ruan Xin looked at him and asked curiously, “Since when have you become so solicitous?”

“If you don’t have anything to offer, you’re a thief.” Shen Chong winked at him. “I am the ‘thief.’ The flower-picking thief.”

Ruan Xin was about to speak when the elevator door opened, and Shen Chong pushed him out, smiling, “Thank you for giving me the information, I’ll buy you dinner some day.”

Shen Chong pressed the door button and took out his phone to call his assistant. “Tell Director Zhang that I’m not feeling well and have to go to the hospital, I’ll be an hour late.” After saying that, he hung up the phone sharply.

Yesterday, when Nan HuaiLin suddenly fainted, Shen Chong originally thought he could take advantage of the opportunity to brush a wave of goodwill, but, unfortunately, something suddenly happened. He could not miss the opportunity again.

He boasted to Fei Cheng that he would be able to sleep with Nan HuaiLin within a week, but now a week was about to pass! Not to mention sleep, he did not even get to see his face. It was too embarrassing! This time, he must take down this little minx in one fell swoop!

Ruan Xin stood in front of the elevator, speechless for a moment, then turned around and walked towards the president’s office.

Fei Cheng happened to go to his brother’s office and bumped into Ruan Xin head-on.

Ruan Xin was not a gossipy person, but now he couldn’t help but gossip about Shen Chong. “Is Shen Chong not normal lately?”

“He has never been normal at all,” Fei Cheng said. “Why mention him all of a sudden?”

Ruan Xin said, “He’s chasing a young actor from our company, but that young actor is obviously not his type.”

Fei Cheng asked, “Do you mean Nan HuaiLin?”

Ruan Xin was stunned. “You also know Nan?”

Fei Cheng asked instead of answering, “How do you know Shen Chong is after Nan HuaiLin?”

Ruan Xin held back his curiosity and answered Fei Cheng’s question first. “Nan had a high fever and fainted. I took him to the hospital, and just now I met Shen Chong in the elevator–“

“Which hospital is he in?” Fei Cheng asked, interrupting him before he finished listening.

“Chongwenmen’s Puren Hospital.” Ruan Xin replied.

Fei Cheng turned his head and left, not even waiting for the other to finish.

Ruan Xin was filled with questions by Shen Chong and Fei Cheng, but had no place to ask them, so he could only endure them.

Ruan Xin had not been gone long when Nan HuaiLin fell asleep on the hospital bed. Just when he fell asleep, he suddenly felt a cold hand on his hot forehead.

Opening his eyes, which were red from the fever, he saw Shen Chong’s face.

“You’re burning up too much,” Shen Chong frowned. “What’s going on?”

Nan HuaiLin removed his hand, sat up with his sore and weak body, and asked in a hoarse voice, “How did you know I was here?”

Shen Chong said, “I just met Ruan Xin at the office and heard him say so.”

Nan HuaiLin said, “Thank you for coming to see me. I’m fine, you can go now.”

Shen Chong was about to speak, when the phone suddenly rang.

It was his assistant calling.

Shen Chong answered it, then his face turned a bit stinky. “Got it,” he said and hung up. Then he smiled bitterly and said to Nan HuaiLin, “Now I can’t go with you. Where do you live? I’ll come to your house to see you when I’m done.”

Nan HuaiLin looked at him and said helplessly, “Shen Chong, I know what you are thinking. It’s an honor for me to be in your good graces as a mediocre person like me, but you really don’t have to waste your time on me. I have a boyfriend and I love him so much that I don’t plan to have a relationship with any man other than him, so you might as well use your mind to find someone who is right for you.”

Just as the words left his mouth, the phone rang.

Nan HuaiLin glanced at the caller ID and answered hastily, “Hello, darling. I’m still in the hospital, so hurry up and come over. Okay, I’ll wait for you.”

After hanging up the phone, Nan HuaiLin looked at Shen Chong and said, “Thank you for coming to see me. My boyfriend will be here soon, and I don’t want him to get the wrong idea, so you’d better go first.”

Shen Chong smiled and said calmly, “I didn’t think I’d be in love, but you’re the one who tipped me over the edge. Since I can’t be your fuck buddy, it’s okay to be a friend, right? I’m sure you’re the right person for me.”

Nan HuaiLin looked at him with a puzzled expression.

This guy was playing tricks again, right? He was trying to get away with something.

“If you don’t say anything, I’ll take that as a yes.” Shen Chong stroked his head. “You get well, I’m leaving.”

Nan HuaiLin, “…”

Shen Chong had just left on his first foot, and Fei Cheng arrived on his second.

“Since when did I become your ‘darling’?” Fei Cheng had a teasing face. “How come I don’t know?”

Nan HuaiLin hung his head and whispered, “You even called me ‘baby’ yesterday.”

“So-” Fei Cheng deliberately trailed off. “I’m still your husband now?”

“I have a husband?!” Nan HuaiLin blurted out. Then he remembered that he also lied to Fei Cheng and said that he had a boyfriend.

“I don’t mind.” He didn’t know why, but Fei Cheng just wanted to tease him, and found it particularly funny.

“I don’t have the energy to act with you,” Nan HuaiLin said. “Go do what you need to do. I want to be alone.”

Fei Cheng sat still. “I thought your fever had gone down yesterday. Why is it up again today?”

Nan HuaiLin said helplessly, “I don’t know. Maybe the symptoms were not treated yesterday.”

Fei Cheng said, “You look healthy, but I didn’t expect you to have the body of a fairy sister.”

Nan HuaiLin did not have the energy to argue with him, and after a two-second pause, he spoke again, a little embarrassed, “That…Can you get me a glass of water to drink?” He felt like he was about to be burned dry, his throat was almost smoking.

Fei Cheng remained stalwart. “My name is not ‘that’.”

“…Fei Cheng,” Nan HuaiLin called out his name in a kindly manner, which somehow felt strange.

Fei Cheng hooked up the corner of his mouth. “Wait.”

Fei Cheng got up and went out to the nurse’s station and asked for a glass of water.

On the way there, while no one was around, Fei Cheng lowered his head and spit into the water twice, stirring it again with his pinky finger, before returning to the ward.

“It’s warm, drink it,” Fei Cheng said. “I’ll pour it afterwards.”

Nan HuaiLin finished it in one gulp and said, “More.”

Fei Cheng took the empty cup and asked, “How does it taste?”

“What can water taste like?” Nan HuaiLin thought his question was really strange, and then responded, “Did you add something to the water?”

Fei Cheng nodded, “I added some sweet love.”

Nan HuaiLin, “…”

Fei Cheng got up and went out.

Nan HuaiLin smiled, thinking Fei Cheng was a little cute.

It was already dusk when the infusion was finished.

Nan HuaiLin’s body temperature had normalized as the medicine took effect quickly.

But just in case, he still grabbed two doses of fever-reducing pills.

“Buy me dinner,” Fei Cheng said after leaving the hospital.

Nan HuaiLin also felt that he should buy a meal to thank Fei Cheng for taking care of him yesterday and today. However, he couldn’t afford to buy an expensive one, and he was afraid that Fei Cheng would dislike it, so he was in a difficult position.

Fei Cheng thought he didn’t want to, so he added, “I have something to tell you, let’s talk about it while we eat.”

“Okay,” Nan HuaiLin was really curious about what Fei Cheng wanted to tell him. “What do you want to eat?”

Fei Cheng smiled and said, “You’ll know when you get there.”

The author has something to say:

Nan Nan: How dare you give me your saliva! Disgusting!

Fei Cheng: Your saliva is called saliva, my saliva is called dragon saliva, others want to drink it but can not drink it. Come, I’ll feed you some more, and you’ll never get sick.

So he pounced, forcing a kiss, and not only fed saliva, but also fed many other liquids.

That was… gross? But seems like a legit treatment? 🤨😅

I am FASCINATED to find out why FC did that! Does he suspect that the “dream” actually happened after seeing NHL’s symptoms!? 😮

Dragon saliva might be a cure-all, but eeeew, nevertheless!
I’m dying to for things to get out in the open.
Author, love your note… taste of things to come, excuse the pun.

Dragon saliva…um, gross – hope it actually cures him! Poor Nan HuaiLin is so sick!

So cute that they’re calling each other “baby” and “darling” even if it *is* just an act.
