Do you prefer stories with realistic romance or stories with idealized/romantic/melodramatic romance?

because i read books to escape reality! mwahahaha~~~
I enjoy both. For me the actual story is what’s more important.
I enjoy both. I like the escapism of fantasy and the warmth of cheesy ‘perfect’ romances with a smatter of threat; then I also like more ‘slice of life’ romances. I do like to have some humour and sarcasm in the dialogue of whatever I’m reading, though.
Melodramatic stories are probably my least favourite.
both for me? depends on the mood and the type of story. if the story is meant to be realistic or like action-focused, i’d prefer something more realistic aka subtle, maybe slower or faster, unpronounced. but i do love my share of over-the-top romance, especially if it’s comedic 😂
