Ye Shao’s back was against the strong tree trunk, and the military uniform he was wearing, because of Long Yuan, had become a little wrinkled. His slightly long black hair was disorderly covering his bright and clean forehead. His looming slender eyebrows were raised in a small arc; his thick eyelashes were drooping. His white face was cast in light shadow, the light color accenting his tight lips that were clenched because he didn’t want to say anything more.

Long Yuan lowered his head and looked slightly over his face, his eyes did not give him any light. So he looked at him for a long time, until he saw the slight wriggling of the pale pink lips flap open for a moment, and then he said, “Do you know what you did wrong?”

Ye Shao pursed his lips and said nothing.

Long Yuan stared at the unresponsive Ye Shao for a moment, then snorted in his deep voice, “Hmm?”

Ye Shao turned to look into Long Yuan’s blue eyes under his thick eyelashes. “I don’t think I did anything wrong. Since I had the chance to save that soldier, I couldn’t watch a life disappear in front of my eyes. And, in the end, I succeeded in saving him without any losses.”
