IFOWP Chapter 54: Under Attack

Outside the palace, three people had completely transformed into five meter tall monsters, with terrible, ferocious looking faces and long white fangs that reached below the corner of their eyes, which had turned red.

One of them glanced at the guards who were rapidly pouring out of the palace gate. With his hind legs bent, it pushed gently on the ground and his body leapt like a spring. There was only a cloud of smoke-like dust left in place, which was blown away by the wind. The next second, his figure appeared outside the palace. He lifted the giant green arm that had been clenched into a fist and smashed it hard at the top of the palace wall. 

The originally transparent air immediately flashed with a golden light and resisted his strike. Then the monster raised his arm again and gave another heavy blow to the wall. This time, the strong barrier began to vibrate a few times, and the golden light flickering on it began to weaken slightly.

“This is bad, they want to break through the protective barrier of the palace!” Seeing the barrier around the palace shaking more severely. A few of the guards that poured out from the palace, reached up to the necklace around their necks to summon their mechas. The light projected by their armors transmitted them into the interior of the mechas.The other two army-green skinned monsters which did not attack the shield, immediately blocked the mechas. Although the number of them was several times less than that of the combat mechas, these monsters still intercepted the mechas and kept them away from the monster who was destroying the palace protective barrier.

Long Yuan heard the commotions inside the palace. He wanted to contact Ye Shao, but it seemed that Ye Shao’s communicator was turned off, and he couldn’t get through. For some reason, his heart felt a little stuffy. He frowned and walked towards the doors.

The baby, whose tail had disappeared, was wearing a white hoodie with long rabbit ears. He  followed behind Long Yuan, wiggling his chubby buttocks. A fluffy tuft of black hair bounced up and down as he walked. He stared at the back of Long Yuan with his pair of big round eyes and pouted. 

Who’s fault is it that you didn’t allow Baby to follow Mommy? Something is happening out there and you’re only worried you can’t contact Mommy?

Long Yuan walked to the door, and the baby was closely behind him, holding the door frame with two small hands, leaning out his small body to look.

From there they could hear the commotion outside the palace door.

Right then, the originally blue sky suddenly flashed with several long golden lights, and disappeared all of a sudden. Long Yuan naturally knew that this was not a vision in the sky, but that the protective barrier around the palace was under attack.

A group of guards ran through the corridor in a hurry. Long Yuan immediately called out to them, “What’s the matter? What happened outside the palace?”

The head guard followed behind Long Yuan and secretly took out his own communicator and sent a quick message using the line dedicated to guards.

Something was wrong with the mechas which were intercepting the two monsters. Why did the mechas, which were on par with the monsters, suddenly had a surge of strength as if injected with chicken blood¹. They even got fiercer with their attacks? Some even managed to push them back a few steps and began attacking the monster that was working on destroying the protective barrier.

The monsters’ goal now was to destroy the protective barrier of the palace as soon as possible. The original plan to take over the palace and control the royal family has changed. As long as the protective barrier was destroyed and they could stall them long enough, then they could leave this planet and return to their mother planet.

But these suddenly powerful humans wanted to destroy their plans. At present, there were not many guards operating the mecha, and they could cope with it. But the more time passed, more guards would emerge from the palace gate, which meant that there was less hope to achieve their goal as soon as possible.

A red light flashed in the eyes of the two monsters. The originally sharp claws on their hands in front of them attacked the guards in a more ferocious way than before.

The monster which broke the protective barrier gave it a final blow with its huge claw. Finally, the overburdened shield faintly glowed a gold light and broke into small golden specks, which then quickly dissipated in the air.

Cang Huo, who was standing in the woods and waiting to leave, leaped over the high wall of the palace with Ye Shao in his hands the moment the protective barrier was destroyed. He jumped into the woods outside the palace and ran a distance from the palace before turning into a black shadow. He leaped into the sky and headed towards the atmospheric layer of the Imperial Star at the fastest speed.

The black shadow floating in the vast universe slit opened a black hole in the void and slipped in. After the last section of the black tail disappeared, the hole that appeared out of thin air slowly closed and disappeared.

Long Yuan arrived at the gate of the palace and saw three monsters fighting with the mechas.

They seemed to reveal their intention to attack the palace, but never got close to the palace gate even after fighting with the guards for a long time.

When the protective barrier of the palace was damaged, the guards got furious. They busted their asses but still these monsters managed to destroy the palace’s protective barrier. What if it left an impression to His Royal Highness that they did not take the palace’s safety to heart?! Fuck, you goddamn monsters, we are going to destroy you!

The human beings, who had been so easy to deal with in the eyes of the three monsters, had become a little problematic at some point, but now they have become more obstinate.

If they only had chicken blood before, now they must be injected with drugs. They were all crazy. This was a monster with a strong body, but they had more than a dozen wounds on their bodies caused by these sudden and unpredictable guards.

The monsters began to lose under the siege of the guards. They saw that the time was almost right, and they didn’t want to stay here any more. After breaking through one of the guards’ encirclement, a monster broke out, and its huge body flew to the sky. When the guards saw that the prey under their noses was about to slip away, and His Royal Highness was watching from a distance, their movements then became more and more rapid. They inflicted more wounds on the two monsters and surrounded them.

The  group of guards who followed behind Long Yuan quickly summoned their own mecha. With a good wish to perform well in front of His Royal Highness, the guards bravely surrounded the monsters that were trying to slip away, and used flashed special skills to block its way.

Little did they know that His Royal Highness the prince’s attention was not on them at all. Their performance this time was just playing tricks in front of the blind. It was totally in vain.

Long Yuan’s eyes thoroughly scanned the guards outside the palace gate, but after looking carefully twice, he couldn’t find Ye Shao. Long Yuan’s heart was even more stuffy. In the middle of the air, the people only saw a black shadow flash in front of their eyes. A dark jetblack mecha had appeared in front of the monster. The sharp lightsaber blade cut a long and ferocious wound on the monster’s body.

Because it was outside the palace, none of them used thermonuclear weapons, except lightsabers. If any of them accidentally swept their guns and fired at the palace, they would not be able to pay for their mistakes even with 10 lives.
Long Yuan face was cold. In fact, what he wanted now was to determine where Ye Shao was. However, these monsters made it hard for him to find Ye Shao. Only by eliminating all these monsters could he find Ye Shao quickly.
