After Luo XiaoLou got on the starship, he went back to stay in his room. He was worried about the immediate crisis, but he also couldn’t help thinking about how he was getting farther away from Yuan Xi. In this mood, Luo XiaoLou’s small room was cloudy.

125 dared not make a fuss, he rarely accompanied his master alone. By himself in the corner, he used headphones to watch a TV series. They didn’t make much effort to speak to one another.

By noon, the restaurant had only Luo ShaoTian, Ling Xu and Yang Ke.

Last time when Kane’s representative was chosen to go to the front, he was specially taken care of by Ling Xu and stayed behind. At that time he was relieved. No one would be willing to joke with their lives even if they tried harder. But this time when he saw Ling Xu was also going, Yang Ke thought about it, and took the initiative to ask to follow.

Yang Ke had been a very calculating person since he was a child. He knew that it was one thing to get Ling Xu’s recognition as his beloved, and it was another thing to get his liking. Since Luo XiaoLou was able to become a civilian Prince Consort, all he lacked now was opportunity and luck.

Before Ling Xu dined, he looked up at Luo ShaoTian and asked about why Luo XiaoLou hadn’t come over.

Luo ShaoTian’s movements paused, then he said calmly, “I’ll go check it out later.”

Ling Xu didn’t say anything else, and continued to eat with graceful movements.

Ten minutes later, Luo ShaoTian pushed away the plate in front of him, got up and walked out.

There was lunch delivered by the robot on the ship. Luo XiaoLou sat down to have his meal, and took the plate from the robot. Then, there was a knock on the door outside.

Seeing the tall, thin, cold-faced young man who was standing outside, Luo XiaoLou opened the door and asked, “Is something wrong?”

Luo ShaoTian moved to let the robot out, and walked in himself.

Luo XiaoLou watched as Luo ShaoTian closed the door, then turned around and walked up to him. He asked, rather strangely, “Do you trust me?”

Luo XiaoLou looked at him in surprise, and said, “Of course. What’s the matter?”

Luo ShaoTian mn’d, and then added. “Before we left, Yuan Xi told me about that incident, so I think you understand the reason why he asked me to bring you to the front. Moreover the news, for now, is still blocked. It can be said that no one knows where you are except for a specific group of people. To be on the safe side, I think, if you are willing, you should turn off the positioning program on your communication device, or connect it to me directly. That way, if others want to find you, they can only determine your location through me.”

Luo XiaoLou thought for a moment. “Yes. I’ll talk to Yuan Xi.”

Luo ShaoTian’s gaze flashed, and he nodded his head. Only after Luo XiaoLou finished asking for instructions from Yuan Xi, and received an affirmative reply, did he raise his head. “It’s okay.”

Luo ShaoTian connected Luo XiaoLou’s communication device’s positioning program to his own communication device; in one direction. Then he said, “Don’t worry. With me around, I won’t let anyone hurt you.”

“Uh, thanks. Right, it’s done just in time since you came over.” Luo XiaoLou, who was a bit intimidated by his brother’s majesty, said less than usual, only took out a gray-green space button from the storage box given to him by Yuan Xi, and pushed it over. “It’s for you.”

Luo ShaoTian blinked, took it with a strange look on his face and looked at the level. “Tier 9?!”

“Mn. Found time to do it some days ago. It’s just done.” In fact it was one Tier 9 mecha out of three. The other two he left on Yuan Xi’s desktop.

After Luo ShaoTian left, Luo XiaoLou went back to bed to take a nap. He had absolutely no spirit to do anything else.

Compared to Luo XiaoLou’s leisure, Yuan Xi’s side was busy.

Time was running out, and Yuan Xi even started to sleep overnight at the military headquarters. The next night, Xia Zuo put a stack of information on Yuan Xi’s desktop. “According to the date on that chip, I went to check the major events that happened at that time, and this is their work log for three months.”

Yuan Xi quickly scanned through it and frowned. “Everything is normal?”

“Yes. In all the materials that were investigated and reported, nothing major happened in those three months except for some changes in the research data.” Xia Zuo said. Here he paused for a moment, then handed over another book.

It was an old-fashioned notebook. Most of the people who still used paper notebooks to write things down at such times were those who were older.

“This is what I picked up from a retired researcher of the Exotic Beast Institute. It’s not his work journal, it’s only his usual notepad, which is probably why it wasn’t taken back by the Exotic Beast Institute. But there was something written in it, something that happened exactly a day after the date of the chip video.”

Xia Zuo sketched out a sentence in red pen. ‘September 17, 3091, Sunny, but the atmosphere in the lab is far from like the weather outside. Last night they actually lost our most important discovery. The culturable exotic beast gene had disappeared into thin air.’

Xia Zuo flipped forward again as Yuan Xi froze. He was saying, “For two years onward, they seemed to be conducting some kind of research, and the result of that research was this exotic beast gene.”

“By definition, this would be a big deal for the Exotic Beast Institute, but there was no mention of the loss of this exotic beast gene in all of the Exotic Beast Institute’s information.” Xia Zuo continued. “Moreover, all the people who were in that lab at that time have retired, and none of them could access the later logs and reports of the Institute.”

Yuan Xi raised his head, and looked at Rod. “So, what did you find there?”

Rod, likewise, handed over materials. “At that time, all their energy was on dealing with the exotic beast. A year later, Su Yun had an accident at the xenolong, and the exotic beast escaped. The next year, Yue Zhuo was also killed by the exotic beasts on the battlefield.”

Yuan Xi narrowed his eyes. “So, were there any babies born to the Yue and Su families at that time?”

Rod shook his head. “At that time, Yue Zhong and Su Su had already reached adulthood, and their babies were born ten years later.” AFter he said that, Rod drew out a few photos.

They were pictures of Yue Shang and Su Lan as children, before they came to their new home. Yuan Xi flipped through them coldly. Finally he stopped, and pointed his finger at a spot and said, “What is the identity of this person?”

Rod looked problingly. That person only showed a small profile, plus the distance was very far and somewhat blurred. “It’s a Su family member from the orphanage they picked up to cultivate. As a child, he once spent some time with those two people.”

Yuan Xi looked at it for a while before smiling coldly. “That’s Shao Rong. Go check Shao Rong’s identity again and his experience before appearing in the mecha competition.”

Xia Zuo’s heart stuttered. “You’re suspicious.”

“That gene. They couldn’t abandon it, and something so important, they wouldn’t put it too far away where no one knows about it.”

Rod immediately said, “I’ll check it out right away.”

By the second day, they found that Yue Zhuo, Su Yun and Jui Yuan of Exotic Beast had a close relationship and often met in private. They also found that Exotic Beast had lost the exotic beast gene. But as to what Yue Zhuo said, that what they had done would cause the extinction of humanity, they hadn’t yet got the slightest clue.

Yuan Xi put the information down. His face wasn’t very good. He pulled out a chip from the communication instrument, “Xia Zuo, take those people, and go to investigate what happened back then.”

Xia Zuo looked at Yuan Xi in shock, and then silently put away the chip. This power could be only used in times of extreme urgency, but the danger to His Highness the Prince Consort was probably more critical than anything else to His Highness.

On the evening of the third day, Yuan Xi stood in his office. He hadn’t had much rest for three days, and at this time, Xia Zuo had not returned. Rod would arrive at his office in two hours.

Su Lan gave them three days. Tomorrow she would be announcing Luo XiaoLou’s identity.

The lights in the room gradually dimmed, but Yuan Xi’s closed eyes suddenly opened with a murderous aura. If it didn’t work, then he would take the last step. It would just be that Luo XiaoLou would have to leave him for a while. No matter what, he definitely won’t allow those people to touch him one bit.

The door was knocked on twice. Yuan Xi pressed the button, and the door opened silently. Outside was another adjutant of Yuan Xi. This person usually had little presence. Even though he had escorted Luo XiaoLou many times, Luo XiaoLou wouldn’t remember this person.

This adjutant came in, gave a military salute and immediately said, “Your Highness, the person you sent me to keep an eye on has had an accident.”

Yuan Xi immediately stood up. “What kind of accident?”

“He’s dead.” The adjutant said with an unchanged expression on his ordinary face. “That person is usually healthy, and has no history of illness. Although he died suddenly without being attacked, I would classify it as an accident.”

Looking at Yuan Xi’s face with it’s chilling expression, the adjutant added, “Unfortunately, Your Highness, this is the officer you selected as the one most likely to leave for the second level civilization. Moreover, his death shows that the man himself had problems. It was my dereliction of duty to let him die like that.”

Yuan Xi exhaled. His eyes showed an irritation that he couldn’t suppress. “You can’t be blamed for that.”

“However, at the time of this officer’s death, I got another gain.”

Yuan Xi lifted his head, and gestured for the adjutant to continue.

“I found the two brothers who had been commissioned by His Highness the Prince Consort to find materials. Before the officer’s death, his target seemed to be the two brothers. Then the officer collapsed and died after discovering my presence. The older of the brothers was seriously wounded and unconscious, while the younger brother had no choice but to ask me for help, so I brought both of them back.”

“Bring him here.” Yuan Xi said.

The adjutant turned and walked out. He didn’t want to irritate the Prince any more. Especially since that brother said clearly that the information he had concerned His Highness the Prince Consort.

In a short time, a pale young man was brought in. His body kept shaking, and after seeing Yuan Xi, he immediately lowered his head.

“What do you have to tell me?” Yuan Xi asked as he sized him up.

“I can guarantee that the information I tell you is absolutely valuable. You..can you provide treatment for my brother? He is very seriously injured. If we delay any longer, I am afraid that…” the young man barely gathered his courage, and requested with a choked sob.

Yuan Xi glanced at the adjutant, who immediately said, “Don’t worry, your brother has been sent to the highest medical facilities of the military department, and the operation is underway.”

The young man breathed a sigh of relief. With the crisis passed, tears followed. He subconsciously touched his face a few times before he said, “Your Highness, I know, it is my fault that it’s only now that I’m coming to tell you this news, but I really didn’t dare to come here before. However, my brother and I are now desperate. We can only turn to you for help, and I don’t want to keep this secret any longer.”

“My name is Wu Qiu, and my brother’s name is Wu Chun. Before we were mercenaries, the two of us also used to be back-ups for an assassin’s organization. At that time, we were too young, and rarely showed our faces inside. About eight years ago, our leader received a commission. It was not a murder or a hijacking, but to draw blood. It wasn’t a difficult task, but when we knew the person whose blood was drawn, our chief regretted it very much.” Wu Qiu said quietly. “Because of the identity of those people, even my brother and I, despite leaving, have found it very difficult to end.”

“But that person said that they were already controlled, and as long as they took that necklace, the two people would not resist. They would also cooperate with us, and they wouldn’t have any memory of that time. However, while those people don’t have memories, we do,” Wu Qiu said with a bitter smile. “Until one day, when we went back and found that the entire assassin’s organization had been killed. The commissioner no longer needed us. Luckily, at that time, my brother and I happened to be out and escaped.”

“Who was the person who was controlled?” Yuan Xi suppressed the unsettling premonition in his heart and immediately asked.

“The people who were controlled and had their blood drawn. One of them is His Highness the Prince Consort. At that time, he was just a single teenager without any background. The other one is the son of Lieutenant General Luo ChengYun, Luo ShaoTian.”

The cup in Yuan Xi’s hand fell downward, and the Vice Admiral, who was on the side, had also changed his expression.

…..and he’s responsible for LXL’s safety, plus is now able to hide LXL’s location. Things not looking good.
A lot has been uncovered. YX may have to approach Li Mo for help at this rate. Would he?
I hope there is a way to safely free both LXL and LST from being controlled. It’s not their fault this happened to then when they were young.
Thanks for translating and editing.

Yup, you gave your precious honey to a man that is controlled by the enemy and who is hiding his position. I wouldn’t be surprised if that warship didn’t reach the front line. I hope I’m mistaken, really.

Thank you for the chapter!!!

The sad thing about this is that, since they were controlled at a very young age, is all of Tian’s goodwill towards the mc wholly true? That brotherly love. All those plans to get friendly close and look dependable/trustworthy on the ml’s eyes.

Or maybe I just want to view it more angst 😅  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  drop allies’ guard and implant oneself deeply.
