The moment he was pinned down by Fei Cheng, Nan HuaiLin’s mind suddenly flashed back to that night of the thunderstorm, when he was pinned down by a drunken Fei Zheng, just like now.

The only difference was that he couldn’t see anything that night because of night blindness, but now he could clearly, and closely, see Fei Cheng’s face and his hot, fiery eyes.

Nan HuaiLin was so nervous that his heart stopped, as he stared at the person on top of him with wide eyes, and shouted his name in a tight voice, “Fei Cheng!”

Fei Cheng pressed against him. He didn’t move, just stared at him with unblinking eyes.

This silent gaze made Nan HuaiLin feel intensely uneasy, like the calm before a storm, but he didn’t have the courage to break it, for fear that the storm would become even more violent.

After what seemed like a century plus a few minutes, Fei Cheng leaned down and approached him. Nan HuaiLin thought Fei Cheng was going to kiss him, and subconsciously closed his eyes.

However, Fei Cheng only buried his face into his neck. Then he turned over with his arms around him, and went from pressing on him to lying face to face, while his arms and his legs wrapped around him like a teddy bear, confining him tightly in his arms.

When Nan HuaiLin opened his eyes, he saw the rabbit pulling carrots on Fei Cheng’s T-shirt.

“Fei Cheng?” Nan HuaiLin called out again.

He was met with the sound of heavy breathing.

Sleeping?

So soon?

Nan HuaiLin tried to get out of his arms. He struggled twice, which caused Fei Cheng to let out two grunts of discontent, and then hug him tighter.

Nan HuaiLin had to lie down peacefully.

Forget it, let’s just sleep like this.

After Fei Cheng’s tossing and turning, the fear created by Kunchi Rock was washed away. Nan HuaiLin slowly relaxed his stiff body, listened to Fei Cheng’s breathing and heartbeat, and slowly prepared for sleep.

But just as he was about to fall asleep, he felt something that was pushing against him. He opened his eyes abruptly. The sound of heavy breathing entered his ears, and his brain exploded. He closed his eyes again, and clenched his teeth to keep from making a sound.

After suffering like this for an unknown amount of time, Fei Cheng gradually regained his composure after a sharp, ragged gasp.

The arms around him were not as strong as they had been earlier. Nan HuaiLin waited a while longer to make sure Fei Cheng had fallen back into a deep sleep, before he carefully escaped from his shackles and tiptoed out of the bedroom.

Nan HuaiLin, who was still feeling the burn, changed his shoes and left the hotel to go for a night run along the road in front of the resort.

After he ran for an hour or so, he felt exhausted, and stopped to walk back slowly in the hot, humid night air.

When he returned to his room, he approached the bedroom on bare feet, pushed the closed door open a crack and peered inside.

Fei Cheng was still lying on his side as he slept quietly.

Nan HuaiLin went in, and silently came to the bedside.

The yellowish light from the bedside lamp sprinkled across Fei Cheng’s sleeping face. Nan HuaiLin saw that the corners of his mouth were slightly turned up. He was probably dreaming of something beautiful. It showed an unexpectedl hint of childishness.

I really want to see him in his dream.

Nan HuaiLin laughed silently, turned off the bedside lamp, and walked out.

The bathroom was in the bedroom, which meant he couldn’t take a shower, so he had to wash his face in the bathroom next to the living room. Then, still smelling of sweat, he hugged a cushion and lay down on the sofa. He didn’t even have the strength to think, and in less than two minutes he lapsed into a peaceful sleep.

Nan HuaiLin was awakened by the ringing of his cell phone.

Man Tianzhu routinely woke him up every morning. After he hung up the phone, Nan HuaiLin sat up, and suddenly realized that something was wrong. Why was he in bed?

He clearly remembered that he had slept on the couch in the living room last night. Where was Fei Cheng? Where did he go?

Nan HuaiLin got out of bed in a daze, and walked out of the bedroom to see Fei Cheng curled up on the couch, and appeared miserable. Nan HuaiLin’s heart softened and he went over to pat his shoulder. “Fei Cheng?”

Fei Cheng opened his eyes, and looked at him blankly for a moment before he sat up.

“You go to bed,” Nan HuaiLin said. “I have to start work.”

“What time is it?” Fei Cheng asked in a muffled voice.

“Just seven o’clock,” Nan HuaiLin said.

“Sorry,” Fei Cheng said. “I accidentally drank too much last night. I didn’t bother you, did I?”

“No,” Nan HuaiLin said. “You’re a good drinker. You came back and fell asleep. You didn’t cause any trouble.”

“That’s good.” Fei Cheng stood up. “I can’t sleep either. I have a 9:30 flight back to Beijing, and I have to go to the office in the afternoon.”

The two of them then washed up together.

Nan HuaiLin used to get up early to take a shower, but with Fei Cheng around, he couldn’t do it.

Fei Cheng also wanted to take a shower. He had that dream again last night, and wanted to do it when he woke up in the middle of the night, but he was afraid of disturbing Nan HuaiLin’s sleep. So after he carried Nan HuaiLin from the living room to the bed, he casually wiped himself off and then destroyed the dirty underwear.

The two people were each thinking their own thoughts, and were strangely silent.

Nan HuaiLin kept his head down and brushed his teeth, Fei Cheng stared at him intently in the mirror, and the movement of the toothbrush in and out of his mouth made Fei Cheng unable to resist the urge to think about it again.

“Do you still feel nauseous lately?” Fei Cheng said to break the silence.

“Not anymore,” Nan HuaiLin spat out his mouthful of toothpaste froth. “The method you taught me of drinking light salt water worked pretty well.”

“That’s good.” Fei Cheng said.

Then the two fell back into silence, which lasted until they finished washing up.

After they changed clothes, Nan HuaiLin said, “I have to go now. Take care.”

Fei Cheng nodded and followed him to the door, where he watched him change his shoes. “Be sure to tell me when the test results come out.”

“Got it.” Nan HuaiLin put on his shoes, opened the door and waved at Fei Cheng with a smile. “Bye.”

Fei Cheng especially wanted to grab Nan HuaiLin, pull him into his arms and kiss him fiercely. Instead, he restrained himself, smiled, waved and also said, “bye.”

Nan HuaiLin turned around and walked away, though he stopped at the corner and glanced back. Fei Cheng was still standing at the door, as he watched him with a smile.

If Fei Cheng was his boyfriend…Nan HuaiLin couldn’t help but imagine that he would have run back, jumped into his arms, given him a big hug and a warm kiss.

But not only was Fei Cheng not his boyfriend, but he was also the one person he absolutely couldn’t have any illusions about, so Nan HuaiLin just smiled back, and turned around to go on his way.

Fei Cheng stood at the door for a while before going in. Then he returned to the bedroom, threw himself on the bed, rolled over, buried his face in the pillow and took a deep breath. It was full of Nan HuaiLin’s smell, which easily aroused the impulse he had suppressed all morning, and worked better than aphrodisiacs.

Fei Cheng slightly bowed his waist, and put his hand into his pants.

Nan HuaiLin had five scenes today, which were shot from morning until late at night. As he returned to the hotel, Nan HuaiLin sat in the passenger seat with his eyes closed. Man Tianzhu looked at him, and asked in concern, “Are you tired?”

“I’m fine,” Nan HuaiLin replied with his eyes closed. “I just didn’t sleep well last night.”

Didn’t sleep well…Why didn’t you sleep well? Was it because of Mr. Fei?

Man Tianzhu hurriedly shook her head to get rid of those XXX scenes. After a long struggle with wanting to speak, she couldn’t help but ask, “Is Mr. Fei back in Beijing?”

“Mn,” Nan HuaiLin said. “He left this morning.”

“There’s something,” Man Tianzhu paused. “I think you should know.”

Nan HuaiLin opened his eyes and looked at her. “What is it?”

“Just…” Man Tianzhu seemed to have a hard time speaking. “I heard rumors about you in the crew.”

“Sister Tianzhu,” Nan HuaiLin said. “Just say it. It’s okay.”

“During lunch today, I overheard two of Ma XiaoHuan’s assistants chatting,” said Man Tianzhu. “Saying that the first day you joined the crew, Mr. Fei gave you a suite upgrade. Also that yesterday someone else saw Mr. Fei enter the room with you. They said that you and Mr. Fei have always had that kind of relationship, and that you…I was so angry that I went up and had a fight with them.”

Nan HuaiLin could probably guess who the rumors were coming from.

The only two people who knew about Fei Cheng’s help in promoting him to the suite were Hu MengJun and Shen Chong. Shen Chong wouldn’t have gone around talking about it, so it could only be Hu MengJun. Hu MengJun and Ma XiaoHuan, who were in the same agency.

Nan HuaiLin was silent for a while, then he smiled slightly and said, “Gracian said that the best way to condemn gossip is to ignore it. Next time you hear it, just ignore it. I’m just a small, insignificant person, and their interest in me won’t last long. Just wait and see, in less than three days they’ll have someone new to chew on.”

“Who is Gracian?” Man Tianzhu asked.

Nan HuaiLin said, “A philosopher.”

After a while, Man Tianzhu added, “Actually, I can use those photos to prove that you didn’t have plastic surgery.”

“It’s not necessary,” Nan HuaiLin said. “The more you try to prove it, the more they’ll say, and the more trouble you’ll have to battle.”

“Okay,” said Man Tianzhu. “Let it go then.”

Back at the hotel, it was clear Fei Cheng had left long ago.

The room had been cleaned, the bed sheets and covers had been replaced with new ones, and the bathroom was clean and tidy. There were no traces left at all.

Nan HuaiLin took a nice hot shower, and went straight to bed.

When the sun rose as usual, it was a new, hard-working day.

On Tuesday morning, Nan HuaiLin received a call from the hospital to say that his tests came back normal, and that he had no health problems.

Nan HuaiLin sent a tweet to Fei Cheng to report that he was fine, and although he still had his doubts, he was finally able to shoot the movie without any worries.

I was hoping something in that situation might make Nan HuaiLin realise it was Fei Cheng he had sex with and not Fei Zhen. Sadly not.
Poor frustrated FC; although NHL isn’t doing much better!
Hiw health check would be clear, as they weren’t doing a pregnancy test, especially with him being a he!
Love NHL’s attitude to gossips.
Can’t wait for more.
Thanks for translating and editing.

They are both struggling with their feelings but for various reasons won’t make a move. I wonder when they’ll cross the line?

Kudoz to room service!

I love how he approaches the problem of gossips and I’ve learned that Gracian actually had a take on the problem. 😲

Thank you for the chapter!!!
