Time always flies when you’re busy.

It was August, and the shooting of Star Country was coming to an end. The actors were finishing up one after another, and Nan HuaiLin only had one last scene left to shoot, so he could go back to Beijing afterwards.

He had already made the best preparations, and as long as Shen Chong didn’t have any NG, he was confident that he would pass.

He never expected Shen Chong’s acting skills to explode that day. The two of them worked very well together, so they really passed.

In the final battle between the good and the evil, Lu JinQin blocked the fatal blow for Lu GuanLan and was killed in this battle.

On the occasion of his death, all the grudges and feuds were dissipated for Lu JinQin’s brother. Lu GuanLan hugged his dying brother, his tears like rain.

“Brother…” Lu JinQin exhausted his last bit of strength, raised his hand to touch his brother’s face. “Don’t cry.”

Lu GuanLan smiled while he continued to shed tears. “Brother is not crying. Brother is just too happy. My JinQin. Finally, my JinQin…has returned to my side.”

Lu JinQin’s face then also floated a weak smile, as he breathlessly said, “Brother, never again… leave me. Take me home, okay? I’m homesick–“

His voice was getting weaker and weaker, almost inaudible, so Lu GuanLan lowered his head and put his ear to his lips. Tears were falling, drop by drop, on his pale, paper-like face.

“Brother, I’m so cold…You hug me, like when I was little… Like that.” After saying the last words, Lu JinQin slowly closed his eyes, and a line of tears swiftly slipped from the corner of his eye and the hand on Lu GuanLan’s face fell to the ground.

Lu GuanLan clung to Lu JinQin’s still warm body, buried his face in his neck, and cried out in pain.

After a long time, Lu GuanLan stood up with his brother’s corpse in his arms, and walked against the wind into the distance. “JinQin, brother will take you home.”

After this scene was finished, Shen Chong’s emotions couldn’t be calmed down for a long time.

From the beginning of Star Country to now, this was the deepest he had ever been in a scene. The feeling of heartbreak was too strong. At the thought of those three words, Lu JinQin, his heart seized in pain, and tears would involuntarily flow.

Shen Chong knew that the reason he had such a deep sense of immersion was due to Nan HuaiLin. His acting skills were so good that he completely brought Lu JinQin to life, so  basically every time he was in a rival scene, he could easily be brought into the scene by Nan HuaiLin, even with just a glance. It was a situation he had never experienced before. This hadn’t happened in his previous filming experience.

When the production was over, Luo Ke said to Shen Chong, “Lu JinQin is definitely the most outstanding character in this drama, and when the drama airs next year, Nan HuaiLin will definitely become a star with this role.”

Shen Chong was certain. “Although his acting skills crushed me mercilessly, I was convinced. But I still can’t figure out how he went from an ugly duckling to a white swan. Don’t you think he’s a little too good-looking now?”

“The ugly duckling can become a white swan because he was a white swan from the beginning.” Luo Ke raised his eyebrows and smiled. “Why, still thinking about eating the meat of the swan? I thought you had lost interest in him.”

“I’m not interested in him,” Shen Chong sighed. “He’s already being raised as a child bride.”

“Fei Cheng, right?” Luo Ke asked.

“Fuck!” Shen Chong looked confused. “How do you know?”

Luo Ke said, “A while ago the group was talking about this rumor, and saying Nan HuaiLin was Fei Cheng’s sugar baby. You didn’t know?”

Shen Chong really hadn’t known, he was especially disgusted by boring gossip, but also expressly forbade people to spread around rumors.

“But it stopped long ago,” Luo Ke added. “And it’s been busy with the brotherly CP of you and Nan HuaiLin.”

“As a director, how do you know all the gossip?” Shen Chong appeared speechless. “Are you too idle?”

Luo Ke smiled and said, “Isn’t it fun to talk about gossip when you have nothing to do? You have to learn to make fun.”

“You’re crazy.” Shen Chong didn’t want to talk to him anymore.

Back at the hotel, Nan HuaiLin’s heart was still pounding.

The first major role in his life was over. It was like a dream. A dream of unparalleled beauty. No matter how many more roles he would play in the future, Lu JinQin would always be the most special one for him.

He would always remember everything this role had brought him.

But the thought of going back to Beijing tomorrow made Nan HuaiLin nervous.

Going back to Beijing would mean living with Fei Cheng. After he heard Fei Cheng’s confession, which wasn’t quite a confession, he’d lost his confidence that he could live with Fei Cheng. He was worried that Fei Cheng would push him harder and harder, and that he would fall into a trap that would be too hard to stop.

However, after that unclear confession, Fei Cheng never showed any further signs. Nan HuaiLin couldn’t help but think that he was being paranoid, and that Fei Cheng didn’t really mean him at all, right? If this was really the case, it would be great and he would have no worries at all. But, vaguely, there seemed to be a little bit of disappointment…

In fact, lately when he thought of Fei Cheng, his heart became a tangled mess. He was thinking about everything, but never knew what he was thinking about.

It was crazy.

Or…How about moving out of Fei Cheng’s apartment?

As he was thinking about it, he was startled by the sudden ringing of his cell phone. He picked up the phone and saw that it was Mr. Rabbit calling. Nan HuaiLin coughed twice to clear his throat and answered, “Hello.”

“Did you finish the film?” Fei Cheng asked over the phone.

“Yes,” Nan HuaiLin said. “I just got back to the hotel after the last scene.”

“How’s your mood?” Fei Cheng asked again.

“It’s complicated,” Nan HuaiLin said. “I can’t put it into words.”

Fei Cheng smiled. “What time is the flight tomorrow?”

Nan HuaiLin said, “9:30.”

Fei Cheng said, “I’ll pick you up.”

“Don’t bother,” Nan HuaiLin hastily refused. “I’ll just take a taxi.”

“I’m going to the airport tomorrow to drop someone off, so I’ll pick you up.” Fei Cheng said. “What, you think I’m going to pick you up specifically?”

Nan HuaiLin could almost imagine Fei Cheng’s narrow-eyed expression at this moment. He chortled and said, “I’m not that self-absorbed.”

Fei Cheng smiled. “I’ll see you tomorrow. I’m hanging up.”

“Okay,” Nan HuaiLin said. “Bye.”

After he hung up the phone, Nan HuaiLin let out a long sigh and decided to go for a night run.

Exercise was one of the best ways to get rid of distractions, the next was sleep. He changed his clothes, put on his running shoes, put on his Bluetooth headphones to listen to his favorite song and went for a run, then opened Keep, to record his mileage.

On a hot summer night, the air was so humid that it seemed like water could be squeezed out, and he could get hot and sweaty in just two steps.

Nan HuaiLin especially liked to sweat. He felt that along with the sweat was expelled, not only calories, but also a variety of negative energy accumulated in the body. After he sweated profusely and then took a shower, it was refreshing.

Like life being set in motion.

Just ten minutes into the run, there was a vague pain in his abdomen.

Nan HuaiLin didn’t care, and insisted on running for a while, but the pain became more and more intense, and gradually reached the point where it could not be ignored. He had to stop and take a break, then the pain disappeared quickly.

He suspected that he had eaten too much dinner, and had not digested it yet. He didn’t dare run again, and switched to a brisk walk.

He walked five kilometers to end the exercise.

Back at the hotel, he washed off his sweaty body and then brushed his teeth.

He looked at his face in the mirror and couldn’t help but sigh. It’s so pretty. How did I get so good looking? It’s so uncomfortable.

The next morning, Nan HuaiLin and Man Tianzhu took a flight back to Beijing together. Because he slept well last night, he wasn’t sleepy at all. He spent two and a half hours on the plane reading “The Power of the Actor: The Twelve Step Acting Method of Charlie Burke”, a book he had read over and over a dozen times, and each time he read it, he got a lot of new things.

At 1 p.m, the plane landed at the capital airport.

As soon as he heard that Fei Cheng was coming to pick him up, Man Tianzhu ran away with her suitcase, faster than a rabbit, and couldn’t even scream. After leaving the airport, Nan HuaiLin called Fei Cheng and told him that he was waiting for him at Exit C. After waiting for less than ten minutes, a familiar SUV drove up and stopped, Fei Cheng got out of the car with a glowing smile, came over and gave him a hug, then put the suitcase in the trunk and asked with a smile, “Are you hungry? Can I take you to dinner?”

“I just had an airplane meal,” Nan HuaiLin said, “I’m not hungry.”

When he got into the car, Fei Cheng was in no hurry to get going, he leaned sideways on the steering wheel, stared nakedly at Nan HuaiLin for a while, and said with a smile, “You’ve become even better looking after a month’s absence.”

Although the air conditioner was on, Nan HuaiLin still felt very hot.

He didn’t take Fei Cheng’s words and asked casually, “Who are you dropping off?”

“My brother,” Fei Cheng replied, “he’s going to America for a while.”

Nan HuaiLin was glad that he didn’t run into Fei Zheng, looked at Fei Cheng and said, “Why are you stopping here?

“Go home?” Fei Cheng smiled pleasantly and then started the car, “Yes, go home.”

The two of them were chatting, most of the time Nan HuaiLin was talking, telling interesting stories about the crew. When talking, he can not control his eyes straying to Fei Cheng, but also pretended to look as if nothing was wrong, feeling this was more tiring than acting.

The good thing was that there was not much traffic at this time of the day, and it took a little more than half an hour to get home.

When he was leaving the elevator, Fei Cheng suddenly said, “By the way, do you like dogs?”

Nan HuaiLin said, “Yes, I always wanted to have one, but I didn’t have time to take care of it, so I didn’t.”

Fei Cheng smiled and said, “That’s great.”

Nan HuaiLin had a question mark on his face, “What’s so great?

Fei Cheng entered the password and opened the door, and reached out his hand in a gentlemanly manner, “Please come in.”

Nan HuaiLin entered the door and first heard a loud barking sound and then saw a black dog running wildly towards the door.

Han, Hannibal?

“This is my brother’s dog, named Hannibal, my brother is staying in America for half a month, so I brought him home.” Fei Cheng suddenly gave a “Huh” and looked at Hannibal, who was wagging his tail wildly at Nan HuaiLin, and said suspiciously, “Hannibal seems to… know you?”

Nan HuaiLin, “…”

At this moment, he realized what desperation meant!

The author has something to say.

Cheng Cheng, “My note to you is one line.”

Nan Nan, “Why?”

Cheng Cheng, “Because one line of business, one line of love.”

That cheesy pickup lines never fail to make me smile and lift my mood. 😁

At this point, Nan is close to giving birth? 🥺 He should not leave Fei Cheng! Aha but the guilt of ‘sleeping with his brother’ must be eating him. Curious what would happen if Nan found out what really happened. 🤭

Confess your houskeeping work, Xiao Li, confess your work! Maybe that’ll help you two put that night’s puzzle together, before you bear a nest of dragon eggs.
Thank you for the chapter!!!

NHL’s concerns about getting involved with FC are understandable to a point, but I wish NHL wouldn’t undervalue his lovely self.
I’m still focussed on how a human will deliver an egg (assuming it ain’t small!)… also assuming, like his appearance, changes to his body will also occur to accommodate the egg… this could,be the pain. I can’t wait for more.
Thanks for translating and editing.

Hannibal!!! Let’s see how NHL answers!! He should be honest as I think his brother secretary may let him know at some point! The whole him turning to a swan is something else! But I like that FC liked him before his change! ❤️❤️

Thank you for the chapter.
I’m not worried. Hannibal has his back! Dragons can’t speak with dogs can they? If so then maybe his brother knows more than he does. {Snicker}
