The human doctor’s questioning and condemning gaze was met with a light cough as the vampire sat up straight and blinked innocently, “…Dear friend, I think you must have some misunderstanding.”

“I don’t think there’s anything to misunderstand – you can’t say that this has nothing to do with you at all, can you?” Shang HaoJia shook his head painfully, looking at the bizarre vampire, and couldn’t help but sigh lightly, “People also want to save face. If you come here like this, how can the lionesses look at him? The other tigers and leopards in the zoo, how will they look at it?”

“No, no, no, I’m not being presumptuous, my dear friend.” The vampire shook his head and smiled helplessly, “You may not believe it, but I did make a deal with him…”

He looked at the driver in front of him, who was humming without distraction, and lowered his voice deliberately. One hand over the human doctor beside him, sideways to his ear.

“The male lion in that zoo has actually cultivated intelligence, but because he is a wandering male lion, his predatory ability is very poor, so he’s mixed in the zoo, usually relying on being cute for a living. But for the health of the animals in the park, they are usually fed only raw meat, so I negotiated with him with a ten-pack of spicy food – which proved to be a very tempting snack for humans…”

“Do lion spirits also love to eat spicy strips?” Doctor Shang felt his worldview had been severely challenged and shook his head, relaxing his body against the arm behind his neck.

The vampire sat up straight and thoughtfully embraced the human, who was too easily tired compared to the vampire, and patted his arm soothingly, “Don’t worry, he’s a very healthy adult male lion, even if he shaves off his mane, it will grow back in a few days…”

“A few days?” Doctor Shang, who strived for accuracy, couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow and repeat the sentence skeptically. Meeting his gaze, Wei Long couldn’t help but slightly sarcastically, touched his nose and coughed lightly, “Well… at most a few months, all of it will grow back anyway.”

“Forget it, anyway, since you are two-sided, I will not worry much about it.” Shang HaoJia couldn’t help but laugh lightly, shook his head before sighing, and suddenly noticed that the vampire’s look seemed to be somewhat grave. His heart inexplicably sank, then subconsciously sat up straight: “What is it? Found something?”

“Probably yes – my friend, we may have to get out soon.” The vampire nodded slightly, and pinched a wisp of morning breeze outside the car window, sniffed under his nose, and then his eyes took on a few cautious gravity. “I smelled the kind of smell His Highness Xian Lin said – mixed with all kinds of blood, very messy, but the only thing is that there is no human blood…”

“Okay, I get it.” Listening to his words, Shang HaoJia’s original relaxed look also followed the gaze down. He told the driver to stop the car, paid the fare at the original price, then pulled the vampire to jump out of the car. “Can you feel how far away he is from us? Is he chasing me?”

“He’s probably after both of us, after all, we would have been his target.” Wei Long looked around warily and held out his hand towards him, “Honey, it’s too late to explain – I’ll carry you back, it’ll be faster…”

Knowing the urgency of the situation at hand, Shang HaoJia also no longer asked more questions, just nodded his head slightly. But when he was picked up again, his back was suddenly trailed by a trace of inexplicable coolness, so he subconsciously raised his head, and his gaze suddenly shrank, “Watch out!”

Almost as soon as this reminder was uttered, Shang Haojia quickly pulled the vampire behind him, instantly switching their position. Before he could stand still, a strong fishy wind came to his face, and a sudden pain came from the shoulder of the human doctor.

“Ah…” His blood seemed to be suddenly drawn away from his body by some extremely powerful force, and the rapid blood loss brought an inexplicable strong sense of weakness.

Shang HaoJia tried to hold back his cry of pain, but before he could react, he felt a strong force from his shoulder, staggered a few steps barely standing.

The vampire pushed the captured prey away and quickly retreated a dozen meters. Like drinking something extremely fatal, he clutched his throat in panic, turned around and held on to the trunk of a roadside tree, vomiting up into the green grass.

“…”

First, he chased after his vampire to feed him his blood and lost repeatedly, and then this new vampire just took a bite out of him, then acted as if he had drunk something so bad it would kill him. As a simple standardized human, Doctor Shang suddenly felt his dignity as food was severely challenged, and even the discomfort caused by blood loss was temporarily overshadowed by the sudden grief and anger.

“Honey, are you alright?!” The vampire forcefully wrapped around his body, eyes were already bloodshot, lips chagrined tightly pursed, obviously for their own negligence and regret, “I’ll take you back to treat the wound – I was too negligent, actually did not think he would just pounce on you…”

“It doesn’t matter if it’s going to be tight or not – I just really want to know one thing right now.”

Although only his shoulder was bitten, a lot of fresh blood was taken.

Shang HaoJia only felt a burst of chills around his body, and couldn’t stop sweating and his strength also seemed to suddenly flow out, but still barely hooked his shoulder to stand firm.

The vampire was the only one who had been in a position to help.

“Am I really that unpalatable – to the both of you to this extent?!”

“No no, dear, of course you’re delicious – no, I mean you smell increasingly delicious…” Drawn to a moment of confusion by his own doctor’s outburst, Wei Long hurriedly shook his head and subconsciously coaxed a sentence, but then felt that it was obviously inappropriate, so he hurriedly changed his tone again. He leaned forward and kissed him patiently on his cold, wet forehead.

“Honey, you’re hurt. Good or bad food is not so important for the time being, we need to deal with your injuries first – do you need to go to the hospital? I’ve heard that humans who bleed excessively from injuries are treated through blood transfusions…”

“Never mind, this location is only the scapular artery, not any aorta. It will be fine.” Touching the two canine teeth marks through the clothing and thinking about the difficulty of explaining it when the time comes, Shang HaoJia shook his head decisively and dismissed the suggestion of going to the hospital. “I am the doctor, so I know what I’m talking about – I’m dizzy, sweating, have a rapid heartbeat, feel weak, so I probably lost about 500cc of blood. Go back and help me get some light salt water to take orally, rest in a bed, add lean pork and liver to replenish blood and it’s no big deal…”

The vampire, who had no medical knowledge, felt that his head was as big as a bucket, as he listened to the human doctor skillfully recite a string of professional terms. The person in his arms was held more firmly as he spoke in a relaxed tone in his ear, “Honey, hold on a little longer, I’ll take you back…”

“Your Highness Wei Long, do you really think – you can just leave so easily?” His words hadn’t yet fallen, when a cold and elegant voice suddenly came from not far away.

Shang HaoJia’s heart sank slightly, picking up the vampire’s shoulders and doing his best to hold himself up. When he looked around, he saw four vampires in old-fashioned tuxedos occupying one side each, surrounding the two of them tightly.

“Honey, don’t worry, I’ll take care of the rest.” The vampire’s expression became more and more calm when he saw more and more enemies, and even steadily took the person into his arms, so that he could lean more comfortably.

Shang Haojia never doubted the strength of his vampire. He raised his eyebrow, nodded his head, and leaned on his chest. “Then I’ll take a nap first – remember lean pork liver for blood, I want to eat cassoulet chicken rice, spicy hot pot also.”

Although the food system was very different from humans, as a vampire living in China for a period of time, Wei Long understood the words of the human doctor without any obstacles, helplessly smiled, and gently patted his arm again. “Honey, as long as you want to eat, naturally there is nothing wrong – but I do think there is too much lean meat and pork liver in these two foods…”

“My esteemed Wei Long, you have been expelled from the blood race and still think you can have those pure blood ability bonuses?” Irritated by the attitude of these two, one of the vampires stepped forward, and his tone took on a bit of mean-spirited mockery, “As a vampire who would faint at the sight of blood, what makes you break through the combined attack of the four of us, and actually presume to escape with a vulnerable human?”

“I never said I was going to escape, even if I have to fight, it doesn’t have to be a bloodbath with arms and legs flying around…” Wei Long laughed calmly, as if his tone of voice suddenly underwent some subtle changes. He closed his eyes for a moment and then opened them, his pupils already turning into an intimidating blood color.

Feeling that the other side was strange, Shang HaoJia slightly frowned, subconsciously raised his head, but still didn’t rashly move. He could feel as if at that moment, something had changed in the vampire’s body suddenly – an awe-inspiring pressure suddenly appeared from him, and the natural power of pure blood finally spread out unreservedly. Now Wei Long was more like a pure-blooded and dangerous blood, a vampire who had just been awakened from his coffin and had been sleeping for a thousand years.

——A vampire was a dangerous being, very dangerous.

The blood red in the eyes also gradually faded away, leaving only a dark black.

“Do you really think that the so-called pure blood’s might is maintained by a gold medal and a few certificates?” Wei Long easily encircled the human in his arms with one hand and walked unhurriedly to the vampire that had taunted him earlier, flicking his canine teeth with interest.

“I’ll teach you one thing – the reason why, for thousands of years, the legend among the blood race is that pure blood is the king of vampires, is because only pure bloods have a special ability to manipulate the teeth of any lower-ranking blood race. I can tell you to lose all your teeth in one day, or I can tell you to turn your canine teeth into cavities and roll around in pain when you bite something… want to try?”

Wei Long appears, thankfully, not to be taken lightly.
Who is the vampire after them and who are these additional, arrogant, ones?
Thank you for translating.

Wow, the doctor protected the vampire, that was so sweet! I really liked how he knew his strength and trusted him to take care of the situation, even with the doctor in his hands! He is clearly a vampire not to be messed around with, especially hurting his partner! The doctor is so clinical that he treated himself lol
