Shen Si had forgotten everything that happened to him before.

Whether it was waking up from under the stairs, or Parasite in the time captivity, Shen Si had no memory of it. His memory was broken when he was pushed down by the cognitive dummy, and woke up again now, lying in a pure white ward with Jian Nian and the doctor talking outside.

Even his severe headache seemed like it had never existed.

“So you really don’t remember anything?” Jian Nian sat beside Shen Si’s bed, looking at Shen Si lying on the hospital bed with a little subtlety in his dark eyes.

Shen Si turned his head and looked at him, “Did anything happen after that?”

“I’m not sure if it was a good or bad thing.” Jian Nian sat in his chair, “But since you forgot, just pretend it never happened.”

“Really? I thought you were going to follow through.” Shen Si turned back to look at the ceiling, the white ceiling with a clear pattern, looking very clean.

Generally speaking, it was Shen Si who never pursued the truth, his attitude towards the world had always been like this, he didn’t pursue the past, nor did he care. He could calmly accept what happened to him, and could calmly continue to live for himself, but Jian Nian was different, he was a paranoid, curious person.

He didn’t realize that there were times when Jian Nian felt it was better to pretend it never happened.

“Because I don’t think there will be any results from pursuing it, it’s probably a gut feeling.” Jian Nian helplessly leaned back in his chair.

Sitting up from the hospital bed, Shen Si looked at Jian Nian, “I’m going to reverse the process with you this time.”

“What?” Jian Nian froze for a moment.

“Tell me what happened then.” Shen Si said, “This is something I must figure out.”

Jian Nian didn’t understand why Shen Si would suddenly want to pursue this matter. Obviously he had no previous memories, and Shen Si was a person who rarely pursued the past. This time why did he suddenly want to understand what happened? This didn’t seem to be in line with Shen Si’s rules of life.

“Shen Si, you…”

“As far as I remember, I was pushed down the stairs by my dummy, but it’s not clear that he pushed me, he just pulled me and then let go and watched me fall.” Shen Si got out of the hospital bed and limped out of the ward. Jian Nian rushed to follow to support him, falling from a place that high, the human body would of course be hurt.

“In that playfield I wasn’t like you guys, I could see the cognitive dummy all the time, and in his words afterwards he could prove it, he walked away from me for that very reason. I simply had nothing to look straight inside me, but that’s another problem.” Shen Si limped over to the windowsill, where he got off Jian Nian and basked in the sunlight mapped in from the windowsill.

“Why is my perceived dummy doing this, and besides, he and I don’t even look like the same person. Jian Nian, you feel the same way, don’t you?”

Jian Nian didn’t answer, but under Shen Si’s gaze, he nodded somewhat subtly, “…About that, indeed, not quite like Shen Si.”

“A perceived dummy that is clearly not me appears in front of me, and still looks like something I have accepted, this thing is strange any way you think about it.” Shen Si looked out the window, “I can leave other people’s business alone, but I can’t even leave myself alone. So can you tell me what really happened in the playfield?” Shen Si looked at Jian Nian, with little emotion in his dark eyes.

“Yes, I can, but Shen Si…” Jian Nian frowned slightly, “Do you feel that you changed in any way?”

“Change?” Shen Si pointed at himself, “Me?”

Jian Nian nodded, then stood beside Shen Si, and frowned. In fact, since Shen Si woke up, Jian Nian had this feeling, Shen Si seemed to have changed a little. Of course, this didn’t mean that Shen Si wasn’t Shen Si, he was still his original self, but slightly stronger than before, so a little different.

This feeling wasn’t strong, and could even be said to be very subtle, ordinary people wouldn’t notice it.

But as a person who grew up with Shen Si, Jian Nian knew Shen Si better than he could imagine. He had experienced Shen Si’s unconditional tolerance for him, and also experienced Shen Si’s merciless abandonment after making up his mind, so he obviously found this difference in Shen Si at this time.

He couldn’t say if it was good or bad, but he was a little worried. Why would Shen Si have this change?

“Change?” Shen Si looked at Jian Nian a little blankly, and after a moment he cocked his head, “Actually, I don’t feel like I’ve changed.”

“Or maybe my senses are wrong.” Jian Nian came closer to Shen Si, “About the playfield matter, Bai JunYi has gone to the Special Unit to ask for information, we will investigate when he returns with the information. Now your body needs to rest, your leg is not broken, but it was fractured.”

“Mr. Bai? What a bother to him.” Shen Si exhaled as he was assisted by Jian Nian back into the ward to lie down again.

Jian Nian sat back down in his chair, “Want to take a nap? I’ll stay here with you.”

After nodding slightly, Shen Si closed his eyes. He slowed down his breathing and fell asleep in a short while, after coming out of the playfield Shen Si became somewhat drowsy, he could sleep fifteen hours a day and still feel sleepy. The doctor came to check, but nothing could be found. He Xin also came once, but he couldn’t find anything wrong either.

Except for the injury caused by the fall down the stairs, Shen Si was very healthy, and even his ability to control time had improved a lot, and his drowsiness wasn’t due to his ability.

In the end, the doctor could only guess that it was the fatigue caused by his body recovering itself.

Looking at Shen Si’s sleeping face, Jian Nian sighed. Just then, there was a knock on the door of his room.

After making sure Shen Si was sleeping peacefully, Jian Nian got up and walked out of the ward. In the corridor, Bai JunYi was sitting on a bench with a stack of documents in his hand.

“This is that playfield’s data?”

“That’s right.” Bai JunYi handed the documents to Jian Nian, “This is what I went to the Special Unit to copy, because this playfield and I have some connection, the Special Unit didn’t get suspicious and gave them to me, this is all the information that they found about this playfield so far, including in the world of unlimited flow. “

Jian Nian looked at the general information, which some Survivors from the Special Unit collected.

The Special Unit would ask the Survivors to write out the playfield they experienced when they registered as a Survivor. It didn’t need to be very detailed or say what they did, just write out what was inside those playfields and the way to leave that playfield.

Although it sounded like a stupid method, and there were few cooperating Survivor, the Special Unit was relying on this to collect a large number of playfield information, and use it to carry out rescue work.

The Special Unit compiled all the information about this playfield and finally synthesized this document.

“This playfield is easy to mix with that basic playfield because it is almost the same configuration, except that the addition of cognitive dummies in this playfield makes it several times more difficult.” Bai JunYi leaned back in his chair, “In the unlimited flow world, cooperation is the rarest of things, so there are very few Survivor’s that emerge from this playfield.”

“So, there is no case that is consistent with Shen Si’s situation?” Jian Nian looked at Bai JunYi.

Bai JunYi nodded, “No.”

To be honest, it would be difficult for anyone to be consistent with Shen Si’s situation.

His cognitive dummy could be seen from the beginning, and the cognitive dummy had hid and didn’t appear until the end. This was a person who knew and accepted himself completely.

“There is one more thing, Shen Si forgot what happened before, but he seems to be very concerned about it.” Jian Nian closed the document in his hand, “Bai JunYi, did you feel that Shen Si was slightly not right after he woke up?”

“Not right?” Bai JunYi thought about it, “No, you’ve been taking care of him since he woke up, I haven’t had much contact with him yet, so I didn’t find anything wrong.”

Jian Nian nodded, “Shen Si, isn’t he a little too strong?”

“Strong? Hasn’t he always been very strong?” Bai JunYi thought back to the past, a moment later he straightened up, “No, compared to being strong, Shen Si has always been quite with the flow, he hardly made many decisions, just acted with the direction of events, this is really not considered strong.”

“You’re a god, did you sense if anything was wrong?”

“No, and there was no problem with the time, it didn’t stop or go backwards.” Bai JunYi shook his head, “What’s going on? What’s wrong that has you worried like this?”

Shen Si had always been very reassuring, he was a person who could protect himself, Bai JunYi, for the first time, saw Jian Nian so worried about Shen Si. Bai JunYi stood up, walked to the door of Shen Si’s ward to look inside, and just at that moment, Bai JunYi was stunned in place.

In the pure white ward, Shen Si was wearing a hospital gown sitting on the hospital bed, quietly looking at the window, and in the window was a pot of green plants with small yellow flowers.

Shen Si looked very fond of this pot of flowers, his eyes had been staring at it. His wrapped, bandaged fingers were clutching the sheet, and because of too much force, the wounds split, and blood spilled out, staining the white bandage red.

The scene could be considered slightly normal, very normal, but what wasn’t normal was Shen Si’s eyes.

“Shen Si?” Bai JunYi tried to call out Shen Si. Jian Nian heard Bai JunYi’s voice, froze for a moment, then hurriedly got off the bench and walked to the door of the ward.

At this moment Shen Si slowly turned his head, and after he did so, those eyes met with theirs, and they finally saw Shen Si’s eyes clearly.

Not ordinary black, but a little pinkish red. In those light red eyes, they could even see glass fragments floating, those fragments from the playfield and that of the cognitive dummy fragments were exactly the same.

Half-white hair, light red eyes, at that moment Shen Si looked like a seductive spirit, with a very pure demonic aura.

“What’s going on?” Jian Nian walked in and walked up to Shen Si. Shen Si wasn’t afraid, he and Jian Nian looked at each other, and he finally smiled towards him.

It was a smile that Shen Si would never show.

I was entertaining the idea of Shen Si just having total bad luck that the dummy shattered when he was still holding himself before 😂 that aside, it cant be that since Shen Si is very aware but still afraid to acknowledge it thats why he subconsciously hid himself? But wtf they merged? Is this how he’ll embraced his perceived inner self??
