Due to some cultural stigmas, I understand why a male couple would use husband and wife. I personally prefer husband and husband.

if it’s a real couple/actors ships, as long as both of them consent to whatever the terms people call them. or the couple decided in what terms they want to be called. i will use it.
if it’s a couple in books or anime, the author can write it to their liking. it’s their story.
in conclusion. i’m fine with both ways.

Generally I am fine with both ways, however, there is always the “cultural” idea and gender stereotypes, which don’t need to be overlaid additionally on a same sex relationship. In most/all Asian bl novels I have read, it is husband-wife so having husband-husband would be nice as naming something as reality always gives more power to the person.

It’s too strange for me, it’s too formal or maybe too old-fashion. we usually use “Chéri/Chérie” (“Darling”) or “Mon Coeur” (“my heart” or “sweetheart”), even nicknames sometimes, something like that.
