Do you read with background distractions? (i.e. Youtube videos playing, music, a movie, tv shows)
Addis’ Answer: I normally have Youtube playing in the background because I can easily switch my focus between the two.

Depends on the mood I had at that moment, really. There are times where I can focus more on what I’m reading when there’s a background noise/music/show but there are also times I find it so annoying that whatever I’m reading won’t register in my head and I have to read it again and again. Like, the noise is grating my very soul even the sound of things (i.e. appliances) frustrates me.
Without distractions because then i tend to lose the meaning of the storu and have to reread passages…
Sometimes with TV programs
When I read a book, novel or a magazine I only concentrate in reading , I dont like distractions
I can read with low volume music in the background, but nothing visual.
I could never have a film or drama on at the same time. I’d find it impossible to concentrate fully on either.
If TV is on for someone else and I’ve no interest in programme, that’s a different matter though.
I have been reading a novel for the past few days with classical music as background story. So whenever they were writing and describing a piece, I went to youtube to pick up the music they were writing about. I discovered a lot of good pieces.
Yeah i like listening music when i read, except when they are a lot of sentences, because i am french, so sometimes i need to concentrate to read in english HAHAHA
usually no because I can’t concentrate but if there’s a singular song that I feel fits the mood of the story, I just loop it in the background uwu
when i’m in my room. none. it’s quiet enough to read and immerse myself in the story.
when i’m outside, the sound of rain and thunder (atmosphere of library, victorian street, potion shop, forest cabin are my fave rainy ambience)
or instrumental chinese traditional music for reading on youtube.
yeah, but rarely. Coz I can’t focus sometimes
I can’t read if there is music or background noise
