Lan Yu dragged Lu RanKong forward in strides, passing through the medicinal baths, the chess area and the screening area, his leather shoes tapping sharply on the ground. Lu RanKong kept up, not looking too good, but saying, “Slow down, you can’t even keep up with the cat.”

Lan Yu said, “You’ve been talking nonsense all night, and now you’re talking about a tiger as a cat.”

“Slow down, you see the tiger can’t catch up, it’s so anxious it’s meowing.”

There were some customers sitting on the left and right, and they all looked at him when they heard the footsteps, but Lan Yu looked back coldly, and they turned their heads back.

He dragged Lu RanKong out of the lounge area quickly, and went straight back to the guest room. Little Tiger chased him to the entrance of the lounge and stopped, spinning in the same place, then followed him again.

The two walked through the long passage, stopped at the door of the suite, Lan Yu took out his room card and swiped it to open the door, went in and first poured himself a full glass of water, gurgled and drank it all in one gulp.

After drinking the water, he saw Lu RanKong still standing at the door of the room, he put down the glass of water and said, “Come in…”

Lu RanKong took a step inside.

“Close the door…”

Lu RanKong turned around and closed the door again.

The room was quiet, and the Star Warship was well insulated, with no in-flight humming.

After a while, Lu RanKong said in a muffled voice, “Maybe you think I did something wrong, but I don’t think I did.”

Lan Yu stared at him for a while and then turned his head, using his hand to rotate the empty water glass on the table, making a bone-crunching sound.

There was a knock on the door, but neither of them seemed to hear it and ignored it.

The knocking continued relentlessly, not heavy but patient.

“Who is it?” Lu RanKong asked with suppressed emotion.

A milky child’s voice came from the door, “Guest, your belongings are not with you.”

Lan Yu couldn’t help but turn his head and look at Lu RanKong.

Lu RanKong went over and opened the door, the little tiger slid in under his arm, “Guest, you didn’t bring your belongings.”

After saying that, he opened the storage compartment on his chest and took out the red wine inside.

After Lu RanKong took the wine, the tiger robot said, “Good night, have a good dream.” Then it slid out of the doorway.

Lu RanKong closed the door and put the red wine on the top of the entrance cabinet when he heard Lan Yu suddenly say, “Actually you are not wrong, it’s me who is wrong. I shouldn’t have lied to you and kept you in the dark.”

Lu RanKong was stunned, slowly withdrew his hand and said, “No need to talk about who is right and who is wrong, even if you sent him a message this afternoon, I can ignore it, but you can no longer have any contact with him—”

“I’ve never been in love, and I don’t have an ex-boyfriend Omega named Gu Gu,” Lan Yu interrupted him.

“Huh?” Lu RanKong didn’t quite understand. He repeated, somewhat bewildered, “You’ve never been in a relationship and you don’t have an ex-boyfriend Omega named Gu Gu?”

Lan Yu said, “Yes, that was a lie I told, just like the group of flowers in your back garden. It was all fake.”

Lu RanKong froze for a moment, pointed his finger at the door, and said, “That Gu Gu…”

“I don’t even know him.” Lan Yu said. “I should have told you a long time ago, but I either forgot or didn’t care, or I thought it was funny to see your reaction, or for various reasons, I didn’t tell you the truth. So you took him for my ex-boyfriend tonight.” Lan Yu finished in one breath and closed his mouth.

“So… That was a fake?” Lu RanKong asked.

“Yes…” Lan Yu whispered.

“Then did you have…”

“No, I don’t have any ex-boyfriends.” Lan Yu finished and then added in a heavier tone, “Just you…”

Lu RanKong was still standing in the doorway, his face was changing, sometimes a bit annoyed and sometimes in a daze. Lan Yu knew he was thinking back to that scene, and did not dare to look up at him, he just looked down and fiddled with the glass of water.

Lu RanKong finally, not knowing what had occurred to him, slowly revealed a smile, and Lan Yu peeking at him, caught the expression on his face.

Lan Yu looked at him in surprise and Lu RanKong asked, “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Aren’t you angry? You were so humiliated just now.”

“Angry, very angry.” Lu RanKong said.

“Then why are you still smiling?” Lan Yu wondered.

Lu RanKong sank his face and said, “I was so angry that I forgot my expression.”

Lan Yu pursed his lips and turned his head to look aside. Lu RanKong didn’t say anything, just picked up the bottle of wine and walked to the small bar in the suite, took out two red wine glasses from the cabinet and started to pour the wine.

Lan Yu heard the muffled sound of the cork being pulled out, looked over there, and quickly turned his head away as Lu RanKong picked up the wine glasses and turned around.

Lu RanKong slowly walked over with two glasses of red wine, stopped in front of him and said, “I was really embarrassed just now. I thought someone was your ex-boyfriend and somehow said a lot of things.”

Lan Yu heard him mention and his scalp began to tighten, but felt that his tone was very relaxed, the emotions and the content didn’t quite match, so he looked at him doubtfully.

“Blame me for not asking you about it before, making a judgment based on a mere coincidence and assuming he was your ex-boyfriend.” Lu RanKong even laughed, sounding very happy. He put both glasses of wine on the counter beside Lan Yu and leaned against it, shaking his head, “It’s really embarrassing. I’m a Colonel officer, but I looked like I’ve had too much to drink. What’s the difference between me and those drunks?”

Lan Yu stared at him and saw him laughing while talking, his face wasn’t at all ashamed and angry, his body looked completely comfortable.

“I just made a joke of myself in front of so many people, and a few robots.” Lu RanKong looked at Lan Yu, put his arm around his shoulder, brought him over, kissed him on the cheek, and said, “No matter what the cause is, this hurt me inside… As long as you treat me better in the future, my wounds will slowly heal.”

Lan Yu narrowed his eyes at him and asked, “What do I have to do to be nice to you so that your wounds will heal?”

“I actually still lack a sense of security, you know? A sense of security. It’s the feeling that our relationship is still fragile, and that’s why we’re in trouble.” Lu RanKong let go of his shoulder and faced him seriously, “If this sense of security is never obtained, things like what happened tonight may happen again.”

Lan Yu asked again, “How do you want me to give you that sense of security?”

Lu RanKong thought for a moment and said thoughtfully, “I think you can make our relationship stronger, and I will feel more secure.”

“Doing what?” Lan Yu asked.

“For example, let’s say that a strong relationship is not only about inner emotions, but also about physical bonding.” Lu RanKong put his arm around Lan Yu’s shoulder again and patted it, “Maybe it’s a little profound for you, after all, you’ve never even been in love.”

“Oh? Aren’t you the same?”

“I’m rich in theory, what’s the difference between us? It’s the theory…” Lu RanKong said, “You just have to remember that love needs to be taken care of in all aspects, so that your partner will no longer suffer and will be filled with a sense of security when he sees anyone he thinks is his ex-boyfriend.”

Lan Yu slowly plucked the hand off his shoulder and said with a wry smile, “You say so much, that physical part is the point, right?”

“Don’t misinterpret my meaning, I’m talking about love needs all-round care, all-round.” Lu RanKong looked at him with a face full of incomprehension, “What are you thinking about?”

Lan Yu looked at him askance and didn’t say anything, Lu RanKong looked away and said, “Of course the physical part is also very important, the sooner the better, otherwise there will always be a void in the heart that is not filled.”

Lan Yu grunted, turned around and picked up a glass of wine on the counter and said, “Then your piece will be left vacant.”

Lu RanKong also picked up a glass of wine and said sarcastically, “I’m not in a hurry, there’s less than a month to go anyway.”

“What month?”

“Have you forgotten so soon? I said, after a month, no matter what reason you find, I will not let you go.” Lu RanKong said vaguely, “There are only twenty more days now.”

Lan Yu sipped his wine and smiled, “We’ll see…”

Lu RanKong turned the ship’s walls transparent and turned off the lights. The two sat side by side on the sofa, watching the sky outside and drinking, chatting softly.

“Are you sure you don’t mind? About the bar tonight.” Lan Yu asked.

“He’s really not your ex-boyfriend?”

“No…”

“Then why would I mind? Besides, there were no reporters around.” Lu RanKong finished this sentence without thinking, and was attracted by a golden planet, pointing it out to Lan Yu, “Look, that one is beautiful, it’s golden.”

Lan Yu looked at his well-defined side face and smiled silently, then went over and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek, resting his head on his shoulder, his heart at peace.

The next day, Lan Yu woke up to the sound of music, accompanied by a soft female voice, “Dear passengers, the Long Range has arrived at Sasu Planet and will land in half an hour, the process may be a little bumpy, please do not move around…”

“Awake?” Lu RanKong came out from the bathroom. The straight military uniform made him more handsome, his hair was well groomed and he looked radiant.

Lan Yu sat up from the bed with his hair in a mess and said, a little dazedly, “You’re all dressed up.”

Lu RanKong adjusted the position of his tie on his uniform and said, “You should get up and clean up too.”

Lan Yu saw his wrists showing the right cuffs of his gray shirt, and his leather shoes were shiny, so he was probably going to meet someone important after he got off the ship. Suddenly he remembered that his home was in Sasu Planet, and he also said before that he would take him to meet his elder brother, so a guess came to his mind and his heart jumped.

Lu RanKong saw that he was still dazed, went to the bed and tugged on him hard, pulled him into his arms and kissed him, saying, “Go wash up, the Star Warship is about to land.”

Lan Yu went to the bathroom, brushing his teeth and thinking about how he should dress in order to look solemn but not too grand, decent and natural.

“You need to fix your hair too, it’s sticking out a bit.” Lu RanKong suddenly turned his head to urge, “And don’t you have a gray shirt too? Let’s wear the same one.”

“Mine’s a light gray.” Lan Yu said vaguely, holding his toothbrush in his mouth.

“Is there a difference?”

“Yes…”

Lu RanKong said, “Wear that one, it’s probably the same.”

Lan Yu thought it was fine, not exactly the same but just the same color, a plausible couple’s outfit that would be appropriate if he met his family. He quickly washed up and started the skin treatment, applying the cream while pretending not to care, “You haven’t told me why you’re dressed up so much. Are you going to meet someone? Or is it for a dinner party?”

He added the word “dinner” on purpose to make it seem less deliberate.

Lu RanKong paused and said, “You may not know that Sasu Planet is different from our planet, and the docking bay here is very crowded.”

“Mn, and?” Lan Yu began to gargle water and rinse his mouth.

Lu RanKong came over and stood in front of the bathroom and said, “Because of all the celebrity appearances, there are a lot of reporters around the Sasu dock. If we don’t take care of our image, it’s going to be hard to look good on the show.”

Lan Yu slowly turned his head and looked at him expressionlessly, Lu RanKong took two steps forward, lifted his forehead hair and said, “You can’t use this look when you’re there, you have to smile.”

The Star Warship landed quickly, and the two of them walked out of the room with a suitcase each, and before they could take a few steps, they both slowed down.

The door to the front room just opened, the two Omegas they met in the bar last night also dragged a suitcase to come out. The Omega in front stretched out his head and looked around, saw the two and quickly turned back and closed the door with a heavy bang.

“It’s your fault…” Lan Yu made a gesture to Lu RanKong.

Lu RanKong also smiled and returned the gesture, “You’re to blame, too…”

The two continued past the door of that room without looking at each other and met up with Chief Wang and Xiao Liu who were waiting at the entrance of the ship and got off the Star Warship.

Passing through the exit of the ship and walking in the spacious reception hall, Lan Yu looked ahead and asked Lu RanKong indifferently, “Where are the reporters? Where are the photo ops? It’s a pity you dressed up for nothing.”

The whole reception hall was empty, there was no one, only a few cleaning robots were working.

Lu RanKong didn’t make a sound, but after walking out of the receiving hall, he suddenly got a boost of energy and said to Lan Yu, “Watch out, there’s a group of reporters on the right front. We often take credit and have been on the show several times, so they will swarm like flies. If you have any questions that you can’t answer, don’t open your mouth, I’ll take over for you.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, the group of reporters ran forward along the barrier, brushing past them and darting to the back.

“Hurry up, hurry up! The movie star is coming out!”

“Hurry up and keep up, try to be the first to interview!”

The two continued to walk forward, Lan Yu pretended that nothing had happened, and Lu RanKong himself explained, “They didn’t recognize us…”

Lan Yu suddenly felt sorry for him, so he nodded and said, “Yes, they didn’t recognize us.”

When they walked out of the reception hall, there was a gray commercial car parked outside, and Wang and Liu, who had been lagging behind, finally caught up, and while pulling the door, they panted, “The two Colonels have really long legs, and they seem to be walking without slowing down, so Liu and I couldn’t catch up. This car is here to pick us up, you two, please.”

After everyone was seated, the business car left the shipyard and headed for the main city.

Lan Yu, who had come to Sasu Planet for the first time, got into the car and looked out through the window. Sasu Planet was obviously different from Zata Planet, with a modern feel everywhere. It was Lan Yu’s first time on Sasu Planet, so he got in the car and looked out through the window.

Sasu Planet was clearly different from Zata Planet, full of modern skyscrapers, hover trains whizzing overhead, drones detecting violations hovering over the streets, and cars flowing as if they were ants in a line.

“This is where I grew up, Sasu Planet,” Lu RanKong said in his ear, “a cold steel city with nothing to see.”

“I guess it’s not bad.” Lan Yu still looked out the car window, a small smile curling the corners of his mouth.

“Sasu Planet is the least interesting of all the planets, where do you think it’s good?” Lu RanKong asked.

Lan Yu turned his head to look at him, his dark eyes danced with pleasure. When he saw that Wang was talking on the terminal in the back row, he came close to Lu RanKong and whispered, “Because you grew up here, so I think it’s good.”

Lu RanKong froze for a moment, then coughed twice with his fist against his mouth and turned his head to look out the window. Lan Yu was surprised to find that his ears were actually red.

“How strange, you are actually shy.” Lan Yu whispered again and, unnoticed, reached out and poked Lu RanKong’s ear with his finger.

Lu RanKong took his hand off and held it, smiling at the car window.

As the car waited for the traffic light, Lu RanKong asked him, “When this mission is over, can you come home with me? Meet my elder brother…” Then added, “And my father…”

Lan Yu immediately began to feel his heart racing, and covered it up by turning his head to look out of the car window, then said, “Didn’t you say that your elder brother’s family meals aren’t good?”

Lu RanKong reached out and poked his ear, which was also starting to redden, and whispered, “I’ll make it for you myself.”

“Forget it. I’m just going to try that cook’s work and see how bad it really is.” Lan Yu said.

“Okay, then try it, if you’re not satisfied, say so, and I’ll make it for you right away.”

Lan Yu nodded very lightly.

I love these 2.
So typical of Lu RanKong’s chilled personality; happier LY doesn’t have an ex, than angry at the lie or being embarrassed by the scene it caused. That’s love.
Lan Yu really needs to come clean soon though, like before meeting his family, the implications of which are hopefully clear to LY.
Thank you for translating and editing.
