Tian QingLin paced back and forth anxiously in his room by himself. What should he do? He couldn’t continue on like this, and he probably shouldn’t go anywhere alone from now on… But who was it? Who?

Suddenly, there was a light knock on his door. Tian QingLin shivered. “…Who’s there?!”

There was no movement outside the door. Tian QingLin picked up a porcelain vase and boldly walked to his door. He held his breath and listened for a while before abruptly pulling the door open.

Outside, the sunlight was brilliant, and there wasn’t a single person in the corridor. Tian QingLin felt even more scared, and he was just about to close his door when he saw a small piece of paper under it. He bent over and picked it up, and when he read what was on it, the panic on his face slowly disappeared.

“Miss Elena, is my sister okay?” Fang Sen asked worriedly.

“Yes. Mr. Fang, you protect your sister very well so she’s never seen any dark or scary things, which is why she was frightened. I consoled her for a while and slept in the same room as her last night. In the morning, her fear had already dispersed with the night, and she’s a lot better now.”

“That’s good, that’s good.”

Elena gracefully stepped out of the lounge and bumped into Tao Yu.

“How come you’re strolling around here by yourself?”

“I originally came to make some extra money and also relax, but now I don’t even know if I’ll make it back alive.” Tao Yu laughed in self-ridicule. “I indeed must not be favored.”

“Then according to what you say, we’re all very unlucky. But on the bright side, the sun will rise everyday, and the days will pass whether you’re happy or not. It’s best to just focus on the beautiful scenery in front of you and enjoy life. What do you say?” Elena blinked her wide eyes.

“I admire your optimism.”

“I’d rather you be infected by it.”

Tao Yu smiled faintly. “I feel it.”

“Mr. Fang is really great, he can even invite the Duke. It’s a shame he stays upstairs all the time, I can’t even observe him carefully,” Qin Se complained to Fang Mo.

“Yeah, my cousin is really capable. However, if Third Young Master Lu knew that you want to see the Duke, I’m afraid he would be jealous.” Fang Mo smiled.

“That’s his problem,” Qin Se said carelessly.

“There are so many rumors about the Duke, I wonder if they’re true or not.” Mu QianHe rubbed her chin.

“Right, that handsome police officer is also staying on the third floor. Do you think they have… ah, a love-hate relationship or something? So exciting~” Qin Se’s mind began to wander again.

“Miss Qin, you’re very open.” Fang Mo turned to Mu QianHe and said, “Right, just now, I wanted to ask about your watch. It’s a new model from a luxury brand in Paris, and seems to not even be on the market yet, right?”

“My cousin brought it back for me from Paris.”

“That’s very lucky that someone can obtain the top trendy items worldwide before they’re even available to the public for you.”

“It’s probably not popular worldwide, it’s only popular in Paris, New York.”

“Paris is a fashion capital, it’s enough.”

“You guys are still in the mood to make small talk?” Jiang LingXuan said worriedly.

“You don’t need to be scared. The Duke’s here, there’s police, and there’s a ton of burly crewmen. You also have your dear fiance to protect you.” Qin Se winked.

Wang XuTong was silent and only looked quietly at Jiang LingXuan.

“Ah, what an affectionate gaze, my heart…” Qin Se sighed dramatically.

Min Yan was sitting far away, drinking lemonade by himself, his stomach churning a little. I sacrificed so much to come here, but that person isn’t even grateful at all, I’m so sad…

“Brother-in-law, don’t be so pretentious, be careful you provoke the murderer. When the time comes, if things go awry, we’ll have to risk our lives to protect you.” Qin Xiao frowned.

Lu YunChi raised his eyebrows. “Hey, what tone are you using to talk to me? As your older brother-in-law, I’m very wise and heroic, but you’re talking as if I’m only going to be unhelpful and mess things up.”

Qin Xiao shrugged and muttered quietly, “It’s true, though.”

“Huh? What did you say? So rude! I’m going to tell your sister to discipline you.”

“That’s what you always say, hmph, where’s your dignity…”

Wen JingHan was lying lazily in the soft silk quilt, and his eyes were half-closed, the flush of his face not yet faded.

A large hand caressed his smooth back and slowly moved down to his buttocks.

“Get lost, don’t be so horny during the day.” He kicked the Duke perfunctorily.

The Duke regarded this as a reluctant acceptance, and he pulled Wen JingHan into his embrace.

“I’m very tired,” Wen JingHan said in discontent.

“Sleep, I’ll just hug you.”

“Only a ghost would believe that.”

“Are my words really this untrustworthy to you?”

“Yeah, you never speak truthfully, why would I believe you.”

The Duke tucked him in. “You’re still hung up on this?”

“This is my specialty.”

“Okay, I’ll tell you.” His tone was a little pampering.

Wen JingHan sat up abruptly. “Really?”

The Duke looked at the silk quilt slide off his shoulders, revealing that beautiful body, and the marks he had left just then were still there. He said, almost feverishly, “Let’s do it again and I’ll tell you.”

“…Do you think I’m going to agree?”

Guan Jin ignored Lu YunYang’s rambling and fished out the components of his gun from his pillow. Then, he sat down on the bed and skillfully assembled the Beretta M9 before attaching the silencer to the muzzle.

Lu YunYang had already stopped his dissuasions and looked at his movements intently. After a while, he said, “You’re so familiar with guns, did he teach you this?”

Guan Jin nodded offhandedly.

A certain emotion flashed in Lu YunYang’s eyes.

A few seconds later, Guan Jin realized who Lu YunYang meant by “he”.

Naturally, Guan Jin couldn’t let go of this opportunity. He scoffed, “What, you’re even jealous of a dead person? You’re even less mindful than a woman.”

Lu YunYang wasn’t ashamed. “I won’t be generous to my rivals, whether they’re dead or alive, man or woman. Otherwise, it isn’t true love.”

Guan Jin shuddered and continued to insert bullets into the gun.

“Are you sure it’s him? If something goes wrong, then you might expose yourself.” Lu YunYang began another round of dissuasions.

“Why are you so against me finding him?”

“Because he’s Spider, a madman who enjoys killing. He’s not an average assassin, he doesn’t do it for the money. Instead, it’s to satisfy his lust. Isn’t this what you said? Cooperating with such a dangerous person is no different from asking a tiger for its hide.”

“It’s not cooperation, it’s taking advantage.”

“That’s even more dangerous.”

Guan Jin pointed the gun at Lu YunYang. “Do you want to lose even more years of your life? He’s an assassin, not a crazy murderer. Assassins don’t touch anyone other than their target. That’s the rule.”

“The premise is that other people won’t try to stop them.” Lu YunYang held the muzzle and pressed it down. “I know you’re eager for revenge, so why don’t you just let Spider face Hermes himself, and you can reap the benefits?”

“It would be nice if Hermes was that easy to find. It would of course be the best if I can get there first and kill my enemy myself, but if Spider gets there first, in case he misses or something goes wrong, I won’t get another chance. Thus, before then, it’s best if I can reach a consensus with him.” Guan Jin’s resolve was firm.

Lu YunYang sighed. “You can’t be sure he’s Spider just because he’s been low-profile and secretive.”

“Spider debuted very early and traveled to various countries, assassinating people everywhere. Most of the people here are descended from rich families, came with an identity, and have been active in this country, so all of them can be eliminated. There are only a few left that match Spider’s covertness and habit of waiting for his prey. Who else could it be besides him?” Guan Jin was a little unhappy with Lu YunYang continuously trying to dissuade him.

“Okay, you can give it a try, but don’t blame me for not warning you. If Spider really was this easy to be found, there wouldn’t be a point in him sneaking in like this.”

Lu YunYang, I agree with you. I think the Duke has something to do with Hermes.

It seems like the Duke has much to hide but somehow I don’t think he is the bad guy! But stranger things can happy, it is the most unsuspected person! This gets interesting by the minute! I love how GJ shudders at LYY’s boldness lol

I think GJ believes the Duke is Spider?
I still feel he might be Hermes.
Either way, looks like the 2 that want to meet, will (if they’re indeed these characters 🤦‍♀️)
Thank you for translating.

My guesses for the allies would be the duke and… Min Yan? Not that either of them really match codenames like the ‘street artist’ or the ‘psycologist’, but the duke seems too important to have come just for Fang Sen. Likewise, it seems odd for Min Yan to show up despite his seasickness JUST to chase after a dude that’s pretty much dating someone else at this point.
Spider is probably Elena and I have no idea on Hermes. Might be fun if it’s Fang Mo??
