Q: How do you feel about time-skips?
caicaicat — I like them. I enjoy the feeling that life continues for the characters. Plus, time skips in extras make me think about my improv classes. there were two ways we practiced to bring a the game of a scene to a new place. You can time skip and see the same characters in a play the game of the scene in a later place. Or you can see how the game behaves in a new place. So to me it’s like two kinds of extras you see. later in the life of the characters or AU setting for the characters.
gaeatiamat — I love time skips in cultivation stories so they don’t drag on, and on, and on, and on…..
caicaicat — true, sit down on a jade bed in a cave to meditate, a month passes, wake up leveled up.
gaeatiamat —If only we could do this in real life.
I like them when they fit. As said by Caicaicat and Gaeatiamat, it moves a story a long so it doesn’t drag; characters must have dull periods too that would make for boring reading 😏
The only time I don’t, is when a skip is suddenly introduced and it feels more like the author didn’t know where to go with that point in the story, or just got bored.
