If a novel mentions food or snacks, would you like to know how to make the food or where to buy the snacks?

Addis: If you guys want, I can try to find the snacks on Amazon and link it into the novels. If I’ve had it, I can try to explain it to the best of my abilities.

Kind of like one of the most common candies that is mentioned in danmei are Rabbit Candies, which, you cand find on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/3JQoLZI

  1. Nice idea, but it does seem like more work for translators and/or editors, to me.
I like a dish explained and a photo; but if myself, or anyone else for that matter, wants the recipe, the onus should be on us to find it.
Same with products, although if a link is already used by a translator, sharing it is great.
Also, with readers from all over the world, some would not be available or appropriate for them (language, availability etc).

  2. Im not really that interested. I don’t live in the U.S or in a well developed country. Amazon has and incredible and absurd shipping fee to my location. So, even if im interested in the product itself, and it’s affordable, I can’t even buy it because the shipping fee is like twice or even five times more than the product’s price. However, I think it’s a great idea for people who can pay for it. Moreover, it’s an extra effort and really appreciated.

  3. why not? i really appreciate with what you guys did in “i’m a chef in modern era”❤️
though i’m not familiar with the food. at least i know what it looks like.
the most important thing that i always hungry after i read a chapter with food being mentioned 🤣🤣🤣

  4. Absolutely! For dishes and recipes, I think it’s okay as sometimes we don’t know which recipe is the original one. For snacks, I don’t think I would buy it through Amazon since I’m not in US, the cost will be too high. Pictures and explanation will be good though, for reference so I can try to look for it at my country or when I travel. As wangxian31 said, you can always search for your self. I did it anyway.
