When they walked out of the library, Jiang ChengLi’s bland smile dissipated and faded away. The only thing that remained was the detached coldness that dared people to approach. The school doctor’s room was empty during quiet school hours, so Jiang ChengLi let go of Shi Yu and walked to the medicine cabinet.

Shi Yu stood in the doorway a little unhappy. Jiang ChengLi’s hand was not a major injury. It wasn’t so bad that he needed help to apply medicine.

And, ‘your senior Shi?’ When did he become that school girl’s senior?

He saw that Jiang ChengLi had opened the antiseptic alcohol. Shi Yu hesitated for a moment. “Do you need help?”

“Why else would I bring you here?”

“…” He put up with it because of what just happened in the library.

Shi Yu went to him, unceremoniously ripped open a cotton swab and dabbed it with sterilizing alcohol before tapping it on the back of Jiang ChengLi’s hand.

Jiang ChengLi, in a rare moment, frowned. He lifted his other hand to poke his earlobe, “Be gentle, it still hurts.”

Shi Yu wanted to curse, but remembered the thickness of the books in the last row and lightened his touch.

“Why…did you protect me?” He wasn’t quite sure if protect was the right word to use, but it seemed to be the only word that could describe Jiang ChengLi’s actions.

Jiang ChengLi was taller than him by half a head and could easily look at the omega’s slender eyelashes over the bridge of his nose.

“Because, you are my…” Shi Yu looked up in a daze as the person in front of him slowly spat out the next half of the sentence. “temporary marked partner.”

“It’s almost gone.” Shi Yu muttered in a low voice.

Jiang ChengLi did not expect him to say no first. “What? Then I’ll make another one for you.”

Shi Yu hated frivolity; hated this careless gesture.

Only that group of senior students could be charmed by Jiang ChengLi.

“No. Save it for your little girl.”

Jiang ChengLi suddenly asked, “Do you also want me to step aside and give way to that young girl in the library?”

“What does the one in the library have to do with me?”

“Haven’t you added her to WeChat?” Jiang ChengLi laughed. “It’s nice to pass notes across the bookshelves.”

“…” Yeah, so nice that the bookshelf fell over and you got pelted with books.

Shi Yu didn’t want to talk about any topics related to ‘school girls.’ He changed the cotton swab. The person in front of him suddenly leaned forward again and his voice ironed over his ear with a little airy little tone. “Senior, what type of schoolgirl do you like?”

“Why can’t you talk properly?” Shi Yu frowned and avoided him.

Jiang ChengLi noticed the tips of his ears were red. He drew away in a cloudy manner, “Shi Yu is so popular. He was asked for his contact information in public last night, the new transfer student asked if you were an omega and you received a small note right after.”

It seemed he was ready to be shady to the end.

“Senior Jiang, we are both in the same boat.”

Jiang ChengLi was silent for a moment, then suddenly laughed out loud.

Shi Yu’s face was full of bewilderment. He was just preparing for this person to put him on again when he heard Jiang ChengLi say softly, “That’s nice. Say it again?”

“…” Mental case.

Shi Yu threw the dirty cotton swab into the trash can. Just as he was about to leave, Jiang ChengLi said, “The other day, when you came to A1, did you want to return my inhibitor?”

Shi Yu’s eyes sank a little. “No, I didn’t.”

“…A barrier agent is more private. It’s not good.”

Shi Yu paused for a moment.

Indeed…an omega sending an alpha a blocker did seem a bit strange. There were a lot of A2 people around that day, so maybe he had made things up again. Was Jiang ChengLi defending his reputation?

“Originally, I didn’t want you to be misunderstood, but it turned out that someone still made up gossip. I deleted the posting. It didn’t affect you, right?” Jiang ChengLi slowly and smoothly observed the omega’s expression.

But Shi Yu just turned around. “What posting?”

It seemed that he didn’t even know.

Jiang ChengLi came closer. “Then the reason someone is asking for your contact information from the forum, do you know?”

“… I don’t know.” This group of high school students had nothing better to do than this?

“Oh, so you can’t be bought for one thousand gold.” Jiang ChengLi ripped open a Band-Aid and handed it to Shi Yu. “Well, it’s a good thing I’ve already told the school principal.”

Shi Yu wanted to be a good guy to the end and pressed the band-aid directly onto the wound, “President, you should wake up.”

He knew that he hadn’t used much force, but Jiang ChengLi’s hand trembled. With that, the cold frosty pheromones suddenly intensified, like a layer of snow falling on the shoulder.

Jiang ChengLi’s eyes changed slightly. He pulled his hand away and hid it behind his back. “No more business for you, go back.”

The change was not a joke. Shi Yu caught on, “You…”

“Go back.”

The sound was a little heavy, and his omega instincts told Shi Yu that he needed to obey. When he walked out the door of the school doctor’s office, he was in a trance…What a person. Caring for him was all backward.

Shi Yu grimaced and headed for the library, but halfway there he suddenly felt something was wrong.

If it was just an ordinary injury, pheromones would not be forced out. Jiang ChengLi’s condition wasn’t right!

He walked back in a hurry, but the school doctor’s office was empty.

There was a wind blowing through the window, sweeping a bitter coldness that made him shudder. Shi Yu looked around but the alpha had already left. Perhaps Jiang ChengLi really didn’t need his help.

Thinking this, Shi Yu lowered his eyes a little and left in a bad mood. He thought about going to wash his face when he suddenly smelled a whiff of snow in the air.

If Jiang ChengLi’s pheromones were like snow, then this feeling was like a glacier approaching.

According to instinct, an omega should be afraid, but Shi Yu wasn’t.

He was pushed forward as if there was a silk thread that was invisibly tied to the depths of his thoughts. His sixth sense told him that the owner of the glacier was waiting for him.

Shi Yu walked up to the door of the music room on the second floor. Except for club activities, this particular section was usually closed tight.

But the door was open.

The closer he came, the colder it got around him. A layer of goosebumps crept over his skin, seeming to silently dissuade him.

Shi Yu looked around and finally heard the piano keys inexplicably being pressed.

The eerie notes echoed in the empty classroom and anyone else might have been scared out of their wits.

But Shi Yu wasn’t.

Because he saw what was lying on the keys.

Only the size of the palm of his hand, pure white, scales with a cold texture, the dragon’s wing membranes were as pale as snow frost, only the edges were glittering blue. Along the spine, a line of black formed, such a beautiful line. Its claws weren’t sharp. The dragon’s horns were circular at the base before they hooked in towards the side of the face. The fangs hung down but didn’t look sharp.

Its wings flapped breathlessly, drooped, then leaned lazily on the edge of the piano.

Perhaps because of the juvenile teeth, it looked docile and well-behaved.

It was a small ice dragon.

Shi Yu felt like a thunderbolt hit his spine, the tingling sensation spread to his limbs, his scalp.

He couldn’t believe what he saw in front of him. Unconsciously, he bit the tip of his tongue. The taste of blood and pain diffused and confirmed that it was true.

Nan Zhong had a small ice dragon…met by him!

There were dragons in this world!

Shi Yu dared not be too happy. He carefully quieted his breathing to get closer, fearing that he would disturb the little thing and in the end it would all be a dream. It wasn’t until he held the little ice dragon in his hands that the ecstasy and excitement deep inside burst out and crashed into his senses.

But Shi Yu suppressed it to death.

He still couldn’t believe it was real!

The little ice dragon seemed to feel the slightly higher body temperature. Its confused eyes opened and ice blue pupils stared at Shi Yu for a moment before it dropped its tail.

Shi Yu’s heart felt horror.

Did he do something bad?

The next moment, the little ice dragon struggled to get up and trembled as it rubbed against his wrist.

It came to Shi Yu almost as an afterthought, was it sniffing his pheromones?

The teenager’s heart was filled with this little dragon and he released his pheromones as he wanted. Then he found that the little ice dragon seemed to have been soothed. The aimlessness morphed into meekness and good behavior. It even moved its beautiful tail slightly along his fingertips.

As if it was approaching Shi Yu for praise.

Shi Yu lost his smile, gently touched its tail tip, took off his jacket to put the small thing inside and quietly wrapped it up.

The jacket was full of the omega’s pheromones’ smell. The little ice dragon was as hot as a boiling ball of fire falling into ice water; dissipated and dispersed.

By the time Shi Yu returned to the library, the last shelves were almost organized. When the teacher saw him coming back, she asked him about Jiang ChengLi and Shi Yu recalled what he had forgotten.

He said vaguely, “I think he’s okay.”

The teacher didn’t ask any more questions.

He put his jacket on his lap. Fortunately the little ice dragon slept peacefully inside without arousing the slightest suspicion. Shi Yu no longer wanted to go to class. He just wanted to go home and hide the little thing.

After a torturous half-hour and before the work period was finished, a tall man stepped into Shi Yu’s line of sight. The man was dressed in a suit, wore gold-rimmed glasses and looked gentle and elegant.

Judging from the library teacher’s attitude, he was a valuable guest. The man was asking questions then suddenly saw Shi Yu sitting on the workbench. His eyes changed slightly.

Shi Yu noticed and instinctively tightened his grip around the clothes pile in front of his body.

Then, the man leaned over.

Jiang Jing carefully looked at Shi Yu’s face, confirming that this was the boy Jiang ChengLi showed him, before smiling gently. “Hello, my name is Jiang, I would like to ask…”

The little ice dragon that had been sleeping seemed to have sensed something and moved slightly.

Shi Yu instantly tensed up, like a child who had committed a crime, and said nervously, “What?”

Jiang Jing took in the situation in front of him and did not show his anxiety and worry in his eyes.

So…he was here.

Shi Yu stared nervously at the man in front of him, but he just smiled. “It’s okay. Work hard.”

It takes time to build trust and maybe this will get them there quicker.
The fact Shi Yu wasn’t scared and is hiding/protecting Jiang ChengLi, so hopefully that will account for something.
Has Shi Yu made the connection due to the pheromones; hope so.
Is this Dad, I wonder.
Loving this. Thanks for translating and editing.
