The two of them were forced to end their conversation, and they opened the door and ran outside.

Lu YunChi, whose room was on the same side of the corridor as theirs, also opened the door and walked out.

“Who screamed just now?” asked Lu YunYang.

“It came from the left side.” Lu YunChi pointed.

They walked through the corridor and arrived at the guest room area on the left.

On a protruding terrace, Jiang LingXuan was trembling and lying on Wang XuTong’s shoulder.

Fang Mo, Tian QingLin, and Dong Chong were standing nearby, and their expressions were dark.

“What happened?” Wen JingHan also ran down from the third floor.

Wang XuTong pointed at a dinner plate with a metal cloche on it.

“We asked a waiter to bring us dessert, but when LingXuan opened it——” He didn’t continue.

Wen JingHan walked over, lifted the cloche, and couldn’t help but frown.

Instead of dessert on the plate, there was a large mass of long, black hair. It was wet, and there were leaves and debris on it.

“Ah, so disgusting. Who could be this wicked and do something like this?” Qin Se turned away, not wanting to look at the unpleasant thing.

“Is it real hair?” asked Guan Jin.

Wen JingHan pulled out a pair of disposable gloves from his pocket and took a few strands, observing it closely and tugging them. “It’s real. However, it doesn’t seem to be from a person.”

“Was it collected from the drain?” said Qin Xiao.

The women present all shuddered, and their breakfast churned in their stomachs.

“It must be a dirty trick by some waiter!” huffed Tian QingLin.

Dong Chong nodded in agreement.

“Let’s first preserve this just in case, and hope that it was only a prank,” said Wen JingHan.

Tian QingLin and Dong Chong exchanged looks and mumbled some things before returning to their rooms.

“We can’t just forget this matter like this, we need to look into it!” Fang Mo felt that as the only person from the Fang family present here, he should take charge of the situation.

“I’ll find someone to lock it in an empty room,” offered Mu QianHe.

“Ms. Jiang was frightened, so it should be up to Mr. Wang and Ms. Jiang to decide how to handle this matter,” said Lu YunYang as he motioned for everyone to disperse.

Clearly, no one took Fang Mo’s words seriously, and Fang Mo was left behind at the scene, his face alternating between shades of white and green. The Fang family didn’t seem to regard him as one of their own, and outsiders also didn’t regard him as one of the Fang family. Guan Jin couldn’t help but suspect if that guy had been shifting the blame.

“Let’s hope that this was only a prank,” Lu YunYang suddenly said after they returned to Guan Jin’s room.

“Don’t jinx it, I don’t want there to be perverted murderers everywhere I go.”

“Isn’t it you who wants to kill someone?” Lu YunYang closed the door and continued their interrupted conversation. “Who do you want to kill? With me here, you’ll always have someone to call on.”

“You’re not going to stop me?” Guan Jin was surprised.

Lu YunYang shook his head. “If your enemy doesn’t receive his deserved end, you’ll never get closure, and I’ll never be the most important person in your heart.”

“Hmph, how selfish of you.”

“People in love are always irrational. Tell me, if there’s a proper way for him to receive retribution, then of course I’ll do my best to help you.”

“There won’t be an opportunity like that.”

Lu YunYang quietly waited for him to continue talking.

“That person is the boss of an intel organization, and his network is worldwide. My, uh, friend, was actually an assassin. The organization he belonged to received an assignment to kill that boss, and the mission was given to my friend. Actually, he was hesitating over whether he should take this risk, since the target was very troublesome. But before he could even make his decision, he became the unlucky cannon fodder that was killed as a warning to the organization.”

After Guan Jin said this, he noticed that Lu YunYang was motionless, so he looked up to glance at him.

“What, do you think my friend deserved to die? He was an assassin, after all, and he had killed countless people, so this is actually retribution, isn’t it?” Guan Jin said in self-ridicule.

“No, I just didn’t expect him to have this type of identity. Even though he was an assassin, he was only responsible for the people he killed. Moreover, if he was someone you valued, no matter what he did, there’s no way you could just watch him get killed and do nothing.” Lu YunYang’s chest heaved up and down a little. “If I were you, I would also make the same decision. You really do value him.” His tone was sour.

“Lu YunYang, you’re the dangerous criminal with no sense of right and wrong.”

“You’re my standard for right and wrong.”

“Dammit…”

“So after all this, who is that person?”

“His name is Hermes.”

“…What a suitable name, which of the foreigners on this ship have such a silly name?” Lu YunYang carefully thought back.

“It’s only a codename. I still have no idea what he looks like.” Guan Jin was a little frustrated.

“…You really know how to stump me.” Lu YunYang suddenly smiled bitterly and rubbed Guan Jin’s head.

“Hey, don’t touch my head,” Guan Jin said in dissatisfaction. “It’s not like I begged you, it was you who wanted to be expendable.”

“Yes, yes, I am very willing. Do you have any clues as to who Hermes is?”

Guan Jin gave him a general idea while also being vague.

“So you’re saying that you also have associates, wait no, partners.”

“They don’t want to expose their identities, so I don’t know who they are,” Guan Jin said vaguely. He didn’t have the right to tell an outsider about these people without their consent.

“Do they have any characteristics?”

“Mn… One might be very rich, but they might not look like they’re rich. The other…” Guan Jin suddenly had an idea. “Hey, you’re a psychologist, right?”

Lu YunYang was a little puzzled at his sudden change in topic, but he still nodded obediently. “I have a license. However, I rarely do consultations except for research.”

“Then do you know how to perform hypnosis?”

“What, you want me to hypnotize everyone on this ship and tell Hermes to show himself?” Lu YunYang laughed lightly. “Hypnosis is a treatment method, not a spell, how can anyone be so superhuman.”

“So you do know it.”

Lu YunYang nodded.

Is it him? Or is this just a coincidence? But if it really is him, then it would be too much for him to play mystery here with me. Guan Jin kept thinking, but no matter how he thought about it, he couldn’t think of another person that was like a psychologist.

“What is it? Don’t be discouraged, we can take our time, don’t be so impatient,” consoled Lu YunYang as he looked at his changing expressions. “However, our first priority is to put your dangerous items in a proper place first.”

Only then did Guan Jin remember that there was a pile of gun components on his bed. Luckily, he hadn’t brought the explosives, or else Lu YunYang would definitely be pushed over the edge.

Guan Jin looked around, but there didn’t seem to be anywhere he could put them. “Are you worried someone’s going to come and search my room?”

“It’s just to be safe. I have a good idea, give me a second.” Lu YunYang stood up and walked to the wall, feeling around for a bit before opening a wall panel and stepping into his own room. Soon afterwards, he came back carrying two large pillows.

“Hollow out part of these, put the items inside, and no one will find them.” Lu YunYang was pleased with his idea, but he saw that Guan Jin was frozen like a statue.

“What is it? Is my idea bad?”

Guan Jin pointed at the door that had appeared on the wall out of thin air, shouting, “Why is there a door there?! Don’t tell me you installed it there during the night!”

Lu YunYang shrugged. “I don’t have that ability. There was already a door on the wall, since I guess that this was a suite before. However, I saw the handle on the other side, and the soundproofing mats were covering the gap on your side.”

“So this is how you entered my room?”

“Of course. This door is a lot more convenient than the one outside,” Lu YunYang said matter-of-factly. “Actually, I don’t think we need to close it anymore, coming in and out is too troublesome.”

The corner of Guan Jin’s mouth twitched. “Why don’t you just directly move into my room.”

“So this is what you wanted all along? If I had known earlier, then I wouldn’t have had to put in so much effort.” Lu YunYang looked delighted.

“Lu YunYang, you didn’t plan this in advance, did you? You told people to give you the layout of the ship beforehand and purposely chose a suite.” Guan Jin narrowed his eyes.

Lu YunYang’s smile was very sincere. “How could I do that, do you really think people would remodel the guest rooms for me?”

Guan Jin pointed. “You hollow out the pillows, I’m going to go find someone.”

“Find who?”

“Find someone to install a latch.”

*****

In the end, the latch wasn’t installed, and Lu YunYang shamelessly kept Guan Jin with him to hollow out the pillows together and put the gun components in.

After they finished, the two of them quickly cleaned up the scene to remove all evidence. They opened the door and threw the pillow filling into the sea, and then tidied the bed and the blanket.

“Oh, you two really are… You can’t even hold back in broad daylight. When you’re done, you even have the strength to clean up, tsk tsk, YunYang, you need to work harder.” Wen JingHan winked as he stood in the doorway.

“Done with what?!” Guan Jin was taken aback. The door had been locked and the curtains were drawn, so there was no way he could have seen anything.

“Drawing the curtains in broad daylight, you tell me what you were doing.”

Guan Jin was still tense as he tried to guess what he meant. “What are you doing here?”

“To call you two over for lunch.”

Lu YunYang pulled Guan Jin closer to him. “We’ll ask someone to send some food and we can eat here.”

“That’s so stifling.”

“We still have more business to take care of.” Lu YunYang raised an eyebrow.

Wen JingHan covered his mouth and walked off with a strange smile.

Guan Jin was stunned for a few seconds before he processed what they had said. He hastily rushed out to rescue his innocence. “Stop imagining things, Lu YunYang and I were only making the bed!”

The people who were heading to lunch all heard him.

Oh… Making the bed…

This novel is so catching! I loved how LYY is there for GJ and is supportive of him. In fact Im very glad he was able to confide in LYY which shows their relationship is growing, before GJ didn’t trust anyone! WJH is hilarious! Sometimes GJ can be uncharacteristically naive and slow! Just dig yourself a deeper hole… 😆
Wonder why the hair was sent to them and where it’s from.
Thank you for the chapter.

How could the experienced assassin be this dumb. With just some manipulation, little Jin just revealed everything just like that?! He completely let down his guard, truly unlike an experienced assassin.

I feel this Hermes person is either YunYang or related to YunYang or something as such novels have that kinda twists. Mr psychologist’s personality couldn’t be that simple. Acting, pretence, manipulation, working to get a desire outcome(control)…?? well bring it on. 😁👀 Lets see how this goes.
