Has manga/anime inspired you to learn the language?

Addis’ Answer: It has for me. I started to learn Japanese when I was 14 because I wanted to hit the point where I could easily watch anime withou relying on the subtitles. I’ve gotten pretty good at it and can have anime on in the background and still know what’s going on.

  1. I have to be honest, I don’t really follow either.
I have picked up vocabulary in a couple of languages through watching dramas though.
I would like to learn more, but I’m someone who doesn’t study well alone, to remain committed. Annoying, but how I am and I know it.

  2. I love anime, as I love reading too, I understand a lot of nihongo words, but I’m not good at kanji, anime helped me a lot in understanding the pronunciation and understanding of words.

  3. I… tried? I learnt few phrases and some words here and there but I’m not big on what school calls “self-directed learning” so I don’t do too well if I’m left to learning on my own devices. But all the words and phrases in Japanese that I roughly know come from listening to songs lol
