Finch was speechless.

Now, he really believed that Qi Zhen wasn’t normal. What was wrong with him, he was already in a psychiatric hospital, yet he still wanted to call Finch over so he could confess his feelings for him?

Finch laughed awkwardly. “You wanted to see me just so you could say this?”

Qi Zhen sighed. “Sure enough, you don’t believe me.”

Finch thought, Believing you would be absurd, we’ve only seen each other once, okay?! Qi Zhen really was crazy, and ordinary people couldn’t figure out what was going on in his head.

Qi Zhen understood Finch’s expression, and he sighed softly. “Why can’t I like you? Did you forget that Ling Bai was also me? If I say that I’m your fan, then would you believe me?”

Finch was speechless. That actually made sense, and at least it showed that Qi Zhen wasn’t completely unfamiliar with him…

Continuing this conversation topic would be too awkward, and even though Qi Zhen might’ve known him before, if it was because of one of his past, trashy dramas, then that also made Qi Zhen quite crazy.

Finch didn’t want to stay any longer, so he stood up and said, “If there’s nothing else, then I should get going.”

Qi Zhen looked at Finch, who was about to leave, and suddenly said, “What kind of person do you think I am?”

Finch thought about it for a moment. Probably a wealthy person? Otherwise, how could he live in a villa by himself and be so idle that he could imagine an entire family consisting only of himself? But that had nothing to do with Finch.

Finch paused briefly before turning around and leaving.

Qi Zhen watched Finch’s receding back and slowly raised the corner of his mouth into a smirk. Then, he returned to his ward and said to the nurse, “Could you please call my father? I want to see him.”

The nurse said hesitantly, “Um…” She probably wasn’t capable of getting Mr. Qi to come over. After all, he had seemed like he really didn’t like his son…

Qi Zhen saw her hesitation and whispered something in her ear, smiling. “Say this to him, and he’ll definitely be willing to come.”

The nurse was confused, but when she saw Qi Zhen’s handsome face, she decided that it was worth a try.

Qi Zhen sat in his ward, overcome with boredom as he gazed outside.

About an hour later, a middle-aged man walked in in a hurry. He was wearing a top-quality suit, and his leather shoes were polished. Although he was already middle-aged, he still looked elegant and was clearly very successful.

Qi Sheng arrived at Qi Zhen’s ward, and after the door closed, he frowned at him, saying, “Why did you want me to come here?”

Qi Zhen looked up and smiled. “I want to leave this place.”

Qi Sheng’s expression was cold. “Whether you can leave isn’t my decision, it’s the doctor’s. I think that you staying here temporarily is better, so you don’t go out and make trouble.”

Qi Zhen looked a little disappointed, but he was still smiling a little eerily. “You look really heartless. If others saw you like this, then they would feel sympathetic for me, hm?”

Qi Sheng’s expression stiffened, and he was immediately furious, though there was a hint of fear at the depths of his eyes. “Don’t mess around.”

Qi Zhen looked at him deeply, saying, “What are you scared of?”

Qi Sheng couldn’t help but take a step backwards.

Qi Zhen slowly smiled derisively and said, “Actually, it’s quite interesting here, and I’ve made a lot of new friends. They always have countless whimsical ideas, and if I didn’t have other business to take care of, then I wouldn’t want to leave… But now is when I should get going, because I have more important things to do.”

Qi Sheng asked, “What do you want to do?”

“That has nothing to do with you. You just need to let me out and appoint me as the vice president of your company.”

Qi Sheng snapped, “Don’t even think about it!”

Qi Zhen laughed coldly. “In my eyes, you’re weak, strong on the outside but soft on the inside and full of flaws. The only reason I didn’t do anything to you before is because it would be boring, but now, I think that your position is quite useful. Anyways, I’m your only son, and all of your belongings will become mine sooner or later, so what’s the difference in giving them to me earlier?”

Qi Sheng was enraged. “You bastard!”

Qi Zhen grinned. “I’m your son.”

Qi Sheng looked at the unfamiliar, terrible person in front of him and didn’t understand why he had turned out like this. Actually, Qi Sheng and his wife had always treated him very well and had been caring towards him, giving him whatever he wanted. Yet… Qi Zhen was like a demon.

Even though he was good-looking and was always smiling, Qi Zhen still had a particular quality to him that made people shudder. Even Qi Sheng and his wife had gradually estranged him and let him live in that villa by himself.

It was only until Cesar called him that he found out that Qi Zhen had nearly killed someone, which was why Qi Sheng had sent him here.

Qi Sheng looked at him coldly.

Qi Zhen smiled. “Are you done thinking it over? If it’s hard to decide, then why don’t I just make you disappear? I think that that would be a lot easier…”

Qi Sheng’s pupils dilated, and he looked at Qi Zhen in disbelief, his expression dark.

Seeing this, Qi Zhen suddenly chuckled and said, “You really believed that? You… really don’t have a sense of humor, father.”

Meanwhile, Finch left the psychiatric hospital and went home slowly. He didn’t think this was very important, so he didn’t think too much of it.

The movie had already entered the post-production stage, and various promotion events had begun. Finch was quite busy, and during the day, he participated in various events outside, and during the night, he went home to be with Cesar. His life was quite content.

Today, Finch had received a phone call from Chai Xin, who had been overjoyed to tell him that he had received an offer to be a product endorser. It was from a very famous luxury brand, and they had liked Finch’s appearance, so they wanted to invite him to be their brand ambassador. This was a very good opportunity for Finch, and this luxury brand had always been very careful in selecting their ambassadors. More importantly, there was a very considerable payment to their ambassadors.

Chai Xin was extremely excited, and Finch was also very surprised. After all, he had never been very famous, and the only notable thing he had done was be in a movie with Xie Yan. However, that hadn’t even been released yet, so how could a luxury brand have already found him?

Finch thought that it was probably Luo JinYi who had helped him again. Mr. Luo was quite interesting! He really did everything he could for Finch, and of course Finch wouldn’t decline something like this, so he happily agreed.

The next day, Finch dressed up and went to where he would be signing the contract. The other party clearly also valued this event, since their company’s vice president would be personally coming to oversee the signing of the contract.

Chai Xin accompanied Finch there, and they arrived quite early. The other party hadn’t arrived yet, so Chai Xin began gossiping with Finch.

Chai Xin said, “I heard that their vice president is a fan of yours, and he chose you because he’s seen your shows before.”

Finch said doubtfully, “Are you sure he’s my fan?”

Chai Xin was silent for a moment before saying, “Well, although you weren’t that popular before, you still had a few fans. After all, quite a lot of people only care about appearances, so it could be a fluke that there’s a billionaire among them?”

Finch didn’t know how to respond.

Chai Xin said, “Quick, get up. I heard footsteps, so it’s probably them.”

Finch was a little nervous, and he stood up quickly, whispering, “Right, what’s their vice president’s name?”

Chai Xin replied, “Oops, I nearly forgot. Just call him Mr. Qi.”

Finch was shocked. “Mr. Qi?”

That Qi? Or the other Qi 1? It couldn’t happen to be the same surname as Qi Zhen, right? After all, his surname wasn’t that common, and just as Finch was hesitating and wanted to ask Chai Xin about it, the secretary respectfully opened the door, bowing as he welcomed a handsome young man in.

He looked up and smiled at Finch, saying, “So we meet again.”

Finch was speechless. What the fuck is this? He had just seen that man in the psychiatric hospital the day before, yet today, he had suddenly become the vice president of a huge company???

Although Finch knew that living in that villa meant he wasn’t someone that lacked money, this drastic change was too big!

Finch was shocked and looked at Qi Zhen alertly, asking, “How come it’s you?”

Qi Zhen grinned. “Why can’t it be me?”

Finch was at a loss for words.

Qi Zhen gave him a long look and extended his right hand. “Let’s introduce ourselves again. I’m Qi Zhen, deputy vice president of HS Company. I hope we can have a happy cooperation.”

Finch looked at his outstretched hand and frowned slowly. He wasn’t that stupid, and if Qi Zhen had stayed obediently in that psychiatric hospital, then Finch wouldn’t mind going there once and listen to what he had to say, since it was harmless anyways.

But now, Qi Zhen had become a young, promising vice president, grandly appearing here to make Finch his brand ambassador. He could’ve chosen any of the bigshots to be an ambassador for his company, yet he had chosen Finch, a little-known actor.

Finch could no longer trick himself into thinking that they were just good at spotting talent; Qi Zhen definitely had ulterior motives.

Finch didn’t shake Qi Zhen’s hand as he said, “I have to reconsider this contract signing.”

When Chai Xin heard this, he was shocked. Although he felt that the atmosphere between Finch and Qi Zhen was a little strange, before he had enough time to think about it, Finch had already rejected Qi Zhen’s offer and had been very impolite. Chai Xin’s expression changed as he asked anxiously, “What is it?”

He was just about to persuade Finch to change his mind, but Qi Zhen stopped him. Qi Zhen didn’t look displeased at all as he smiled and said, “Of course.”

Qi Zhen looked at Finch and said with a sincere expression, “I understood your concerns, and you can definitely reconsider. My conditions won’t change.”

Okay. Super super creepy guy. Cesar get over there quick!

January 28, 2023 5:39 am

I’m not convinced it’s an ‘I like you’ situation. Qi Zhen knows more about what/who Finch is, so there’s a better chance he wants to use him. Also, it didn’t make sense that Finch didn’t tell Cesar that he visited QZ in a psych hospital. Surely he’s realized that everything is related to this ‘new’ world. And he’s learned how important it is to be open with Cesar.
