Preparations for the renewal of the student council began at the beginning of the new semester, and the seniors started to re-elect the new student council in a group.

Nan Zhong students had just returned to school, when they heard that President Jiang’s term of office was about to end. The group broke down in tears and were crying on the forum postings.

The most upset person in the Omega Class was Lian Jing. The omega bawled that there was no one to cover for his tardiness anymore. Shi Yu was so angered by him that he advised him to behave himself as a young man and not to think sideways. Lian Jing agreed with a sobbing face.

The student council had a lot of procedures to change and the seniors were too busy to spend time on it. Shi Yu saw Jiang ChengLi in a place other than the lecture hall only after the first half of the school year.

On Monday afternoon, Shi Yu took his resignation form to the student union office. He wanted to resign from his job as a librarian. But as soon as he arrived at the door, he saw that the newly elected student president inside was handing over his job.

“The account passwords for the Academic Affairs system are in the notebook and the minutes of past student meetings are on the second row of the bookshelf, so there are records on both sides if you need to check them.” Jiang ChengLi’s eyes were downcast as he explained to the student what he needed to pay attention to. “Is there anything else you don’t understand?”

The student seemed a little nervous, and gave a hasty ‘ah’ when he was asked. His ears turned red when he met Jiang ChengLi’s eyes.

The student pursed his lips and spoke to Jiang ChengLi in a low voice, “President…I don’t have confidence.”

Shi Yu watched as Jiang ChengLi tilted his head. “What is it that you don’t understand?”

“I read the records. Nan Zhong’s student presidents were all alphas…I’m the only omega, so I don’t have much confidence.” The younger student clutched the notebook, which contained almost verbatim what Jiang ChengLi said, tightly in his hand. He was still nervous.

An alpha was stronger than an omega. Not to mention that he also had that special period every month, and was afraid that he would screw up if there were any omissions. He wasn’t on the job yet, and he was already scared.

Jiang ChengLi’s voice was very light. “You’re in the top ten in the year and the first in the ballot. Based on the selection criteria, you’re fully qualified, so why do you have no confidence?”

The younger brother looked up at him. His eyes were timid, but with feelings of aggression. “Because the former President did too well, so–“

“What does your job have to do with me?” Jiang ChengLi’s voice was smooth and calm, without mockery. “If you had so many concerns in the first place, why did you run for election?”

“That’s because…” The second half of his sentence was swallowed in the back of his throat. He left his sentence unfinished and avoided Jiang ChengLi’s eyes, but Shi Yu saw the mood of his younger brother. It was because of admiration, longing and liking for Jiang ChengLi.

An omega’s mind was too easy to guess.

Shi Yu raised his eyes and found that Jiang ChengLi’s hand, which had been hanging at his side, had moved as if to touch the nervous omega in front of him. Shi Yu was in a weird mood as he reached out and knocked on the door.

Jiang ChengLi and his younger brother looked up at the same time and saw Shi Yu was standing in the doorway with a blank expression. “I’ve come to hand in my report.” Shi Yu put the report on Jiang ChengLi’s desk, and looked at the two of them. “Did I disturb you?”

Jiang ChengLi’s eyes fell in front of him, then looked at him for a second before he replied with a smile. “No.”

The younger brother who wanted to say something gazed at him curiously, then recognized the senior in front of him. This was the omega who went to the lecture with President Jiang last semester!

“Senior Shi?” The younger student recalled his surname with difficulty, then looked at him with a little excitement. “Hello, Senior.”

Shi Yu lowered his eyes and looked at him. His expression was ambivalent. “Hello.”

“Are you working on the student council too? I remember all your speeches last semester, and I’ve wanted to be like you since then.”

“Mn, go for it.” Shi Yu just smiled. “I have something to do. I’ll leave now.”

Only then the younger student realized that he had disturbed Shi Yu and took a step back. He looked at Jiang ChengLi with an awkward and hopeful gaze.

When Shi Yu was leaving, he saw that Jiang ChengLi was smiling at the little brother. It looked like a reassurance or something, mixed with more deep meaning. Anyway, it was different from the usual President Jiang.

Jiang ChengLi’s eyes, with a subtle expression, followed the omega leaving the office. Then he stopped smiling and looked at his junior. “Do you still remember Elder Shi?”

At the door, Shi Yu was inexplicably distracted. He hadn’t seen much of Jiang ChengLi’s smile since New Year’s Day, and today Jiang ChengLi was smiling at another omega. Shi Yu paused in his steps, frozen in place. Why would he be troubled by Jiang ChengLi smiling at someone else?

He was the one who had given the younger brother an incomprehensible scowl, and he was the one who had the problem, so why was he angry for some reason?

At the corner of the stairs Shi Yu suddenly got a pain in the back of his neck. He raised his hand to cover it and smelled the scent of his own pheromones.

It was his rut.

Since he came home, Shi Lan had paid extra attention to his health problems and bought him many, many strange tonic pills.

He didn’t know if it was an illusion, but Shi Yu felt that his pheromone scent had changed a little. From the previous indescribable deep sea fragrance, now it was lighter and fresher.

It was also true that he couldn’t take supplements indiscriminately. Not only would one’s pheromones change, but also the rut date would be disturbed. Shi Yu gathered his coat and tried to hide the smell in a thin jacket against the spring cold. But his rut was so strong that he was already sweating after just two steps, and the indescribable heat boiled the blood in his body.

Shi Yu dared not go out recklessly since an omega’s pheromones would affect other students. He sat in the stairwell and fished out his phone. He was just about to call Lian Jing, when someone behind him said his name.

“Shi Yu?”

He looked up. It was Lu Zhao, who happened to be passing by.

Lu Zhao saw someone was sitting in the staircase before he came to look, but he hadn’t thought it would be Shi Yu, and he hadn’t expected to smell his pheromones.

It was like a mermaid in the vast ocean, with a thin tail fin that swept across the tip of his nose. It floated with a very light scent, sweet and pure. He was lost in thought for about three seconds before he reacted and covered his mouth and nose.

Shi Yu instinctively tried to hide, but found himself in a place where there was no cover. He was in heat, in the presence of an alpha other than Jiang ChengLi for the first time and automatically resisted his approach.

Lu Zhao noticed that his mood wasn’t quite right and stepped back. “I’ll go find Jiang ChengLi.”

“Why?” Shi Yu heard the name and felt confused.

Lu Zhao frowned and said, “You two have established a relationship. An omega in heat needs an alpha.” But when he saw Shi Yu’s expression, he suddenly came up with an unusual idea. Had these two people split up?

Shi Yu stood up with difficulty and said, “Do you have a blocking agent with you? I’ll just go to the school doctor’s office myself.”

They had broken up.

Lu Zhao’s heart beat a bit faster after he was sure of this thought, and unconsciously replied, “I’ll accompany you.”

As soon as Lu Zhao’s name came up, I actually said “Oh crap” out loud.
However, I don’t think Shi Yu will be interested, but being his rut, will that make a difference 😬
Thank you for translating and editing.
